Is edge of the mist part of the WvW
EotM is basically a waiting lobby for when your real WvW is full, or at least that’s how it was intended. Some people farm it for WvW ranks or other useless nonsense, some use it to find 1v1s.
ALL red teams are paired together, ALL blue, and ALL green, across all servers on your entire region.
Technically EotM is part of WvW. Look, it even appears on the WvW map. There is also the supply delivery that the EotM dominant side gets in their Citadel, which means that is impacts the WvW game, albeit slightly.
It is unpopular with regular WvW players because of the awful floating-island style design, narrow walkways (especially considering all the knockback powers in the game and that there are 70+ enemies grouped together), a lack of places to fight in open field and horribly designed objectives that often make defending futile because of the tight confines and difficulty in circumventing enemies to hit them from behind.

EoTM is not technically part of WvW regarding match ups, what happens in an eotm match has no effect on servers in any way. A winning a color in EoTM can give their home servers a supply drop in citadel, but that is about it.
EoTM is mechanically different then WvW. EoTM uses a megaserver type of system to sort players into different instances, this can and often does create great imbalances in team sizes especially as players come and go after instances are already created, and since it does not give you the option of going into a more populated instance like in PvE. EoTM teams are also divided by color and not servers, so whatever servers are X color for the week will be placed on that team in EoTM. In WvW you can only play for the server you are on, and all teams and maps have the same rules regarding map populations. The matches also reset every 3 hours whereas WvW is 24/7 until it’s weekly reset.
Years ago, the WvW population was much larger and there were queues throughout the day. EoTM was basically created for 2 main purposes, to use as a testing ground for possible WvW features, and for players to be able to play on while waiting in a queue. But as the WvW population began to decrease, EoTM became popular for farming, especially for leveling toons. This led to a very negative attitude towards EoTM by many wvw focused players.
Honesty is not insulting, stupidity is.

So i logged in again today to see how things are looking in etom and… yeah that is maybe why am saying that etom is kind of unbalanced
Well that happens when all players who actually wanna fight in EotM transfer in same server. Stupid players are stupid.

Wait, you mean putting all of the first-place servers together shouldn’t have a clear bias?
These are the kinds of decisions we get for WvW development.
Now think of them developing things for the global game of which they give even less consideration for WvW.
