I used to solo roam a lot on JQ Server mainly as a burst spec’d Guardian, but that was about 4 months ago. Lately i’ve been tried to get back into the fields and did a few tweaks on the Build, lost a bit of power (100), upgraded a few trinckets for ascended for more toughness and started the hunt. For some reason i feel like i’m not as effective as i used to be no matter what. My build runs the same philosofy as before, same rotation and everything, except for that 100 less power. What i’m trying to figure out is why my damage is so extremely lower than before

As you can see i had my ww crits for ~4.5k usually, now i struggle to get a 3k out, all the options i could come up with are:

A) Are people running tankier spec’s than they used to overall ?

B) Is it the 100 less power than is causing my skills to deal 1/2 of the damage they used to ?

C) Did i simply turn bad/rusty ? lol

There are less glass cannon warriors..

People are getting smarter, it happens over time in games. Players actually pack cleanses and stun breakers now. Still plenty of old and new players running glass.

Yes, overall people play much more balanced builds now, and have learned their professions better. Bunker builds have also become more popular in WvW, although they are still a bit rare.

I think in general yeah, people build tankier than before.

In the beginning, people played their glass cannon dungeon builds. Now people are shouting, “get PVT gear noob!” in map chat.

The number of bandwagon permastealth thieves went up, so it became necessity to build tankier. Can’t afford to roam anymore without being able to take a hit.

Damage gets nerfed a bit here and there. But otherwise, yeah players have learned to use their active defenses now, making them harder to hit and also harder to do damage to when hit.
