I am new to the game, (only played a couple of hours when it was released) and I would like to know if it is possible to level a toon doing pvp (various types of pvp still confuses me) instead of pve.
I played Warhammer Online with a squig herder and a witch hunter, so I already have a ranger at lvl20 and can make a thief too since these 2 classes are what comes close to what I played in warhammer.
I also have no clue about builds and to be honest, all pvp aspect of the game.
My server is Far Shiverpeaks if thats worth anything.

The 5v5 matches you enter in the Heart of the Mists (sPvP) will occasionally give you level-up tomes as rewards for playing in official matches.
The massive 3-way server vs server (WvW for world vs world) will give you experience for everything just like normal PvE, but you will die a lot as a low level. There is also a tournament starting this weekend so people might be a little more hostile than usual.
