And when they do update WvW ppl will complain that Anet is never updating pve and spvp. When they update pve you see this reaction. When they update spvp then ppl say its only about esports. So why is your view of any worth?
Look at the gem store. This is how Arena Net makes their money after point of purchase. Look at how it targets the PvE crowd. They ignore us to the point of not even wanting to target us with digital goods for a profit.
Look at the content design goals the company has shifted to. The Living Story has not, does not, and in all likelihood will not ever have anything to do with the WvW player base…like ever…and its irrefutably the content design focus of GW2.
Every time these come up they are nothing more then delusions of what you most like and what you most do not want. They just added in use for Gems in WvW that something comply new that you can add to your WvW game play. But before that there was NOTHING and now that they added in something you go off?
WvW is part of the living story because of the loot bags that ppl can drop. These out of all the bags in the game give you event items. Spvp get nothing most of the time for event items.

It’s kind of clear that if you have 250k kills in www, defended keep gazillion times, killed 100k dolyaks or something you should have coolest weapons, armors, finishers, minipets in the game. Killing PvE mobs shouldn’t give better rewards or ever same rewards than killing other players.

I’m not sure if you’re trolling or being serious.
I achieved exactly 0 achievements from the past living story election event. Not a single one. Meanwhile those who chose to participate in that mind numbing content achieved more points than I will get from WvW in the next 2 years. Getting event drops from the living story in WvW is a table scrap delivery of the content that is intended for PvE.
Now if you browse around the WvW thread you’ll actually find a thread in which I acknowledged ANet for finally beginning to put some items onto the Gem store to target its PvP fan base, and even suggested a few more. I’ve actually already purchased one of the finishers and intend to purchase more of them in the near future (probably Friday).
Facts remain the development goals are production of living story content for casual PvE gamers and not for PvP. Otherwise I’d have gotten engaged in this silly election nonsense that just ended and be rewarded with a vast plethora of achievements to work towards this childish achievement reward system.
Look up everything ANet is doing, has done, and continues to do before you persist in trivializing my legitimate and well founded complaints with their bull!#$%. You bring nothing but opinion to a contest of fact.

Because my view is based on reality and not the arbitrary delusions of a PvE casual.

Feel free to live in a fantasy land where ANet’s bull@#!% business model doesn’t alienate its PvP player base.

You play the way you want to nothing in this game is needed for the most part AP is a major thing. Just because you cant get every thing you want dose not mean you cant get every tying you NEED from wvw. Your just having a very hyperbolic reaction to pve content update and more then likely you will not say a thing when there is a major wvw update.
Just the stander “they did not add as much of x in this update so they must be giving up on x” there always one guy like this every update.
All of what you said is good, but you’re missing the point.
We’re saying that if ArenaNet put the effort they did in Living World into WvW, the game overall would be much more enjoyable, as WvW itself has the potential to please a higher playerbase than Living World will ever do.
I get that and i did mention that in my post “raise awareness that people will leave”-bit. Its upto ANet to descide if they really feel the same way.
Considering we get new pve content every 2 weeks, and new WvW content every?
…
Exactly. It seems they made their choice. All we can do is remind them of it, but i feel sooner or later people will jump ship to other MMOs that focus far more in “WvW”-style gameplay then GW2 does.
Maybe thats why ANet doesnt want to invest a lot of time and money in it, because it’ll have to compete with MMO’s that did make it their primairy focus.

CU, the spiritual successor of the legendary DAoC, was announced only recently. Seriously, there was just so much potential for GW2 to be ‘the’ RvR game of this generation but there was simply little effort put into it.
What major competitors for RvR MMOs were there? WoW RvR is a joke; there were no serious competitors. But Anet blew this amazing opportunity and focused all their resources into Temporary PvE Content, and another company utilized this opportunity (of dissatisfaction of the WvW playerbase and the hype) to announce their MMO to be everything GW2 was not.
And now, even if Anet was to take a paradigm shift and place more resources into WvW to attract that audience, it will all become absolutely worthless in 2 years or so; the RvR or PvP playerbases will have moved on.
So from a business perspective, it may actually be more profitable to make GW2’s strong point (PvE) stronger at this point, because the other areas of the game seem to have a grim future when competition, focusing on specializing in a different area and catering to a different audience, come into the market.
tl;dr, I agree with Terrahero 100%

What major competitors for RvR MMOs were there?
Don’t look a gift horse in its mouth; is probably the appropriate proverb here.
Why? Because with effectively unlimited funding and freedom aside from some lore at his disposal, the man (Jacobs) (who’s all of a sudden, now, going to make the greatest RvR game eva!) failed to give the market any major competitors because his last product was a pile of dog kitten that lasted barely a year before it went down in the history books. There is a reason why WvW has no competition: all its other competitors failed, in one aspect or another.
If WAR wasn’t the craptastic game that it was, there should have been competition but, alas, it was and there wasn’t. We can talk all about “will be” and the future as some great pasture of great IP that will succeed, or we can ground ourselves and actually observe the reality of the matter. For all its faults, WvW has held up for close to year on the basis of its solid core. Games, with constant additions and whatnot, fail in that same amount of time.

I posted in both forums to see both balances of viewpoints on this from LS fans and WvW fans.
However the mods changed the thread title to “I want more wvw stuff” and when I changed it back then moved the thread into this forum. It appears discussing the dev assingment focus on living story isn’t something they want to allow on the living story forums.
Or in short, questioning of dev time allocation, seem to get moved to a forum devs don’t read.

Gw2 is just like any other Korean cash shop mmo, Arenanet might not be Korean but it’s a wholly owned subsidiary of NCSoft and they just do what daddy tells them. PvE and Cash Shop (sorry Gem Store) are going to receive the most attention.
