Guild Wars 2

New player here. I’ve been playing for real after a hiatus since launch due to losing a job, switching colleges, etc. So far I’ve been on for about three weeks trying to reach end goal for the first time and occasionally checked into WvW.

To let you know, I’m on Eredon Terrace, and all I have to say is:
It doesn’t look balanced at all in WvW. Currently my world is a tiny red sliver in the charts. There’s nobody around (most likely everyone bailed). I love the community and the game but… this extremely slanted system is killing my hopes for rewarding end game content. If there isn’t there should be incentives to have people transfer to lower tiered servers or something to prevent stacking of freeloaders on higher ones.

I do enjoy an underdog challenge, but this is just… yeah.

I recently moved to ET from SOR/JQ. I quite like the position ET is in right now. If your a roamer or havoc group you are in a really good place for “farming”. Sure, your server isn’t going to win, but the benefits are there. Your not constantly running into 10 players escorting every single dolyak on the map and 125 player zergs. Its not so bad. Maybe go try playing on a Tier 1 or 2 server and then maybe you will know what I am getting at. Winning isn’t that big a deal in WvW. To be quite frank its a joke. Just kick back, develop your gameplay and enjoy it. Do what you want to do in the game. Since moving to ET I have learnt a lot about the dynamics of the map and my own gameplay by facing different opponents from those in Tier1. And to be quite honest, the average skill level of players in low tiers is higher than high tiers because the high tiers are full of players that want to hold hands with their allies and only fight if they dramatically outnumber their opponents. Low tier is a great place for PvP!

This makes me feel better. I do enjoy a good PvP so far and I like the idea that every player matters and also testing mettle against bigger numbers. Now I just need to find a bigger guild or group to join. It does seem that people on ET are the to have fun, not to “pwn” or whatever. That’s my category I’d say.

Still, I wish there was a better way to attract more people to ET. Even in PvE there’s hardly anyone around to have big event battles and so on. People just need to play on Eredon Terrace more. It’s lonely around here.
