ok we all know that today A-net has officially announced that at the end of this week the WvW rating system is going to be zeroed (all servers having 150 points or something). so you tell me if there is any point playing wvw this week? As a Kain player we will be better of if we stay in this tier rather then moving up a tier since we will get more points here then in tier 3. So whould we continue fighting? what for. Its better if we let the Yaks and CDs take all our stuff…. I know this is frustrating but what can we do? Just follow and run around like a headless chook.

After thinking about it, it doesn’t really make much difference. Play as you normally would and let the figures do the work.

Same reason to play any week: fun. If you ain’t havin fun its not like Anet rewards you for wvw anyway so what were you here for in the first place?

Not sure what you mean, but just want to point something out. The reset means that if Kain were going Tier 1, they will get there quicker due to not having stats from before they got stacked reducing their average. Them not playing this week would just drag there stats down. I presume Kain are used to easy wins and want to stay as low a tier as possible.

Really is sad that players think this way. I dont give a kitten what tier the server I am on ends up as long as the matches are fairly competitive. Whole system was broke anyway and we all know who other than Anet to thank for that now don’t we?

Is a game folks and its cool to be competitive but if you are even entertaining the idea of sitting on your hands so your server ends up in a certain bracket you might as well get an L tattooed on your forehead.

they had a great population base before WM moved there, from what i hear there’s nothing positive about WM.

You’re argument is flawed from the beginning. How would kain be used to easy wins if they were t8 for over 10weeks, (not sure exact length but its quite long). It’s unfair for you to say because kaineg has great roots, sure it’s got lots of bandwagoners but who doesn’t, the easy wins only happened recently due to the xfers and coverage.

For future ranking, yes, you are better off losing this week to have it easier next week.

Tier 1 is going to be ridiculous. A tense 3-way battle will mean the old tier 1 servers will be put mid-tier, and probably against other again, when the ratings are reset.

Regarding Kain and tiers… all I want is a fight. Who cares what tier (altho I’m hoping we start off in T3, that seems to be a nice sweet spot).

Do you really think this is going to make things even? i dont think so. Things were getting balanced just needed couple more weeks. look at next weeks match up for instance. best ever! Now everything is going to be up side down. We are going to have tier 8 or 7 servers leaping to tier 1 because they’re going to win their game in a landslide. while servers in higher tiers are going to go down. do you think this is the solution? i believe this is going to cause more problems then solving. PG stands for Parental Guidance – in this context it means keeping the thread appropriate for all ages without using too much violence like blood and gore.

Is this a serious question? Yes…the point is to have fun. Probably hard for bandwagon transfers to understand, but a lot of people do play this game for the fun of it, and not just Glicko points.

question is:
Is there a point playing wvw at all?
I still don’t see any progression/reward right now, and to play just to get your whole server to the top, while 80 % of wvwers goes there just for the daily is pointless and not entertaining.
Don’t get me wrong, i have a lot of fun roaming in wvw, but i see no purpose for that, you just play, have fun, logout.

You realize it’s going to take weeks of matches for the tiers to sort themselves, right? Step back and ask yourself if you really want to be in t1 for a week b/c of a blowout match in t4. Just let things sort themselves out naturally.

I think its more important than ever to come out fighting. Shows what your team is made of. As a side note it also shows up people who say “I don’t play for the score or for tier advancement” and then stop playing when they aren’t winning or are winning by a lot as hypocrites. There’s always skills to be honed, practice to be done, tactics to revise. Sometimes easier done with pressure off, whichever way the score is tipping.

Is WvWvW even worth playing at all. Getting gear is too hard. I wanna have at least two specs my every characters. Now they force you play and gear only one character. Month/item is just one sick joke.

It’s taken FA roughly from release till about two months ago before we got decent matchups. Looks like we can look forward to another 3 months of nonsense.

Oh well, at least the last week should be super exciting on NA. The last tier 1 slugfest of old ratings, dolyak war v3 in T2, battle of the new Maguuma and the new Kaineng in T3 with special guest dragonbrand, in T4 Yak’s Bend gets a favorable matchup, and T5-T8 i dunno I don’t keep track of those.

Because people hadn’t given Kaineng a bad enoug reputation yet. Thank-you for perpetuating and reinforcing a stereotype, all of us on Kaineng greatly aappreciate it. -.-

whatever it is, its bad for vast majority of their WvW playerbase. We do not want week long matches where one server is utterly dominant and effectivly shuts down all opportunity to play such as what’s happened in Tier4 this week.

Shorten the matches to 1 or 2 days for a few cycles, before returning to weeklies. It is not perfect however it would eliminate server communities rendered unable to play fo r a week at a time, due to completely lopsided matches like what has happened in tier4 this week.

I think that the reset is a good thing myself because the server rankings really don’t represent the server seeing how a lot of the servers are only where they are because of transfers since launch. Things will be a lil chaotic for a month but I think things will settle out a lot faster than people think because of the player base being experienced in WvW now and no more massive transfer bandwagons.

Put your best armour on, grab your best weapon and try to kill everyone around you that’s not on your team.
