Okie so basically, there is a thief I keep bumping into, I thought he was really good but it’s getting to that point where I am starting to think he hacks…

The main reason I think he has a hack that lets him see stealthed people is cause he knows exactly where I am while I’m in stealth which at first I though lucky guessing but I noticed he can also shadowstep signant to me and most importantly, he can steal from me while I’m stealthed…

I don’t mean I just became stealthed and this happens, I mean I am stealthed for a good 2-3 seconds with a spare few seconds left and he can steal to me, bas venom me and backstab me while I am in stealth…

Is there a hack that lets you do this? Or can a thief explain how to do this without the need for hacks?

After hundreds of hours of game play and having seen several player hacks, I have not run into this one. I would guess that the servers do not send stealthed movements to opposing client since it is hackable and unnecessary bandwidth. If so, that would make this hack impossible.

If I had to guess, your movements are very predictable and the player is CnD or going stealth then landing a BS. I pull this trick off with traps since they give away a players location in a fight.

I can see this guy 500-600 range away then he steals to me while I’m stealthed, so it’s not CnD… I might just be lagging or something like everyone else has been the past 2 weeks :/

I saw something around a month ago that makes me think there is. I was on a PU mes alt (yeah), went into stealth while pursued by 5 – 6 people, but one of them cut out of the group and b-lined for me while I was in mass invis. I chained my other skills, made around 3, 90 degree turns in an open field and he zig-zagged with me each time over the course of 10 – 12 seconds. I did that deliberately after it became apparent he was tracking me.

Coincidentally he was running an obvious troll tag while grouping with a guild who we knew to be transferring off the opponent server the next day, so read into that what you will.

I don’t play stealth classes enough to chalk it up to anything but paranoia. But I haven’t seen anything quite like it before in my 15 months of wvw, or since.

I think that there is. I won’t say more, but everybody probably can use google. Seems like they actually sell these hacks. What a kittenkittens.

Make sure you aren’t using any minis (they follow you around while you’re in stealth). I’ve run into a number of teefs/mesmers who like to show off their mini Karkas, only to eat my free backstabs. Other than that, I dunno what to tell you.
