Hello everyone,
I play on Arborstone.
We just had a really “nice” surprise getting kicked from the game each time we tried to go to our Borderlands map. Of course our opponents seized this opportunity to take our keeps, etc.. (we probably would have done the same). Fighting 1vs10 aren’t exactly great odds…
My question is a simple one: when one of the 3 servers can’t defend his territories because the game crashes, is it fair to leave WvW open?
I’m quite new to WvW, and when you play on a server that’s already struggling it’s really discouraging to experience something like this…

It does suck, very much so. Sadly I don’t think it is possible to fix said issue. Closing WvW because a few players can’t access isn’t very fair either. Them taking advantage of that is just a cheap win on their part. No honor.

That said I don’t see how they could have known we were having technical difficulties. No honor in battle he? ^^

Yeah lost EB garrison during connection issues, other server had more people still connected and rushed it. Not much that can be done.

I’m sure they could but as was said – is it fair to the other two servers not having issues to lose out as well?

Has happened a few times over on Underworlds server over the last few weeks, 3-4 times this week so far alone.

Op, what you described is no different that when everyone on your server logs off to go to sleep, and the night/oceanic crew comes in while you’re away and takes everything.

Sorry, Anet has steadfastly refused to address the issue of population imbalance, hiding behind the excuse of calling it a feature by saying that they want to preserve the random, chaotic battles that can happen in an open environment.

If you don’t like it, don’t play WvW. It’s that simple.

As soon as you notice there are problems with the login server you need to tell players on your server not to switch maps and go on the defensive if you are down people. Obviously if people have to leave, they have to leave, but often just telling people that the login server is down and reinforcements/reaction switches aren’t available will ensure that things don’t go to an inquest test facility in a hand basket made from quaggan pelts.

That is unfortunate.. and explains how RoF took your entire boarderland last night. Thought it was a little strange because usually your BL is swarming with defenders.
