People like to exaggerate because they think it make them look good. Most of the time, it is all bull and only a single skewed view instead of reality.
AFAIK, T1 maps being constantly being queued is incorrect. BG generally only has 4 map queue on reset and its only a short wait to get in. After a few hours the queues start to be removed. It comes back during NA prime on Sunday. Monday-Friday at most I see one map queued during my primetime. Usually none.
That^^.
Plus, most of the folks who think all zerging is mindless are people who just mindlessly follow the zerg. Granted, karma trains through EB aren’t unheard of. On JQ at least, if you hop in voice chat and actually get involved in the commanders’ communications, you’ll learn that different commanders have different approaches, and the good ones bother to communicate both what their intentions are, and what they expect of you following them. I was in Ehmery Bay at launch, and joined a JQ guild this summer. I haven’t regretted it once.
No sympathy for the Devil, keep that in mind.
Buy the ticket, take the ride.
As someone that has a main account on SF and an alt-account (previously on BG) now on JQ:
I can tell ya the queues are not as bad as people make out. My guess is that most of these people are trying to get guild groups in and that is where a lot of the complaining comes in.
Are there more queues/more people on T1s? Absolutely. The longest I have waited to get into a map was about 30 minutes, and that was queued from another map on Saturday at NA prime. SF (a T7-8 server) can queue 2-3 maps on reset nights.
It is a trade-off, do you want to play on a tier that has some queues, but always has people? Or do you want to play on a lower tier server that rarely has queues but there might only be 15 people on an entire map?
