It's time to get rid of EoTM
NOPE, there is no lag cos EoTM run “new enginee” – I will call it as this. While old WvW maps run " old pve enginee". Basically old borderlands lag cos of PvE constrution for em, while EoTM have completly diffrent contruction. Also if u ever got over slow loading textures u could see HUNDREDS of lvls of textures under current ones. For example, under blue spawn wp is a lot of snow, water etc. and at this point, THE WATER is lagging, not fps, but ping lag.
Any source or evidence for your otherwise completely unjustified conjectures?
Ye, watch YT and check out about the textures under EB or some other wvw map. Also turn off every graphic option and it will lag less( not fps, ping). As for constructions of EoTM – Old borderlands. as i wrote check YT or turn down render of ur RAM and GPU to see it. Also check out beta posts( if they still exist) that WvW run same enginee as PvE – GW1’s enginee and isn’t suited for 240 players( 3 way fights).

So u had low pc Also they removed culling after 2-3 weeks since live. And yes EoTM have totally diffrent architecture and don’t have such many textures as old maps have – some evidence? Follow pervious post Getting rid od EoTM might help a bit( cos servers wouldn’t be stressed enough and before u comment it, if it isn;t using WvW’s server supplies then it will give better performance for pve and if it have it’s own server resources it will help with all other gamemodes ), but will bring lot of bad stuff to old servers( like low lvls, low skilled players, ktrains, pvers etc.).

I have had the exact same PC for 3 years. Nothing has changed. Care to try again? All of your assertions are merely assumptions extrapolated using poor knowledge of how this game engine or any game engine works. You have no concept of server architecture or even how graphics and CPU interact and operate within the engine. “if it have it’s own server resources it will help in other gamemodes” — please explain how this works. You can’t. Because it’s a load of garbage.
Here is a link to a video where one of the techs explains a few things about how servers work in a technical sense. If you full screen, you should get a chapter listing and can click on servers etc.

Culling was never removed it was put in the hands of the players to determine how much culling they play with. This was also not “2-3 weeks since live”. Not even close.
EotM should only be made available when at least 2 of the normal WvW is queued. less than 2 maps queued, the players on that server must play on the normal WvW map, not EotM. let them karma train , at least they contribute towards the server score.

Problem is unless you are talking about a T1 server then those ppl can play WvW to Ktrain. This will get some of the lower tiers players to fill their otherwise empty maps.

The same number of WvW-teams for 1/10 of people (compared to 1st year) interested is the problem of WvW and that you can only resolve by reducing the number of teams and the manpower requirement of a matches. Trying to force (it will loose more people than it brings people to WvW) people to play something they aren’t interested can’t be the solution.

If you are using the WvW system to get loot you’re doing it wrong….
Why they run eotm? easy loot easy exp easy karma. If they wanted to play the real wvw they would have done it already. Remove EOTM and they will go back to pve instead.

If you are using the WvW system to get loot you’re doing it wrong….
My point exactly. Players play EotM and not WvW, because of the XP and Loot you get very easy. If you remove EotM, they will go back to PvE. They will not go to WvW (little loot and little XP).

Two ways to salvage EotM:
1) Make it a real open world PvP mode by having the rewards go to the winners that participated (and remove/nerf the rewards gotten from zerg training). This would cause the PVEers to cry though.
2) Spice it up instead, by adding EotM exclusive siege and gameplay mechanics that lets solo/small groups have fun disrupting the zergs (.ie a “fear wall” trap that can be set like stealth traps). Also add a world boss event that occurs at the end of the 3hr matchups, but only one side can claim victory against it as all three sides can fight and attempt to thrwart each other.

not really, eotm is a giant sky hammer map
There is absolutely no reason to remove EOTM. It has a use, and even if it differs from the use of what others want, it is irrelevant.
What is true, is that the rewards do outstrip those of regular wvw by far, so I would suggest that the WXP be nerfed but the experience rewards should also be increased greatly so it can fulfill its purpose of leveling characters. The base loot should also be boosted to compensate. At the same time, buff the wxp rewards for wvw globally.

So the topic is remove EotM because “Reasons” (i.e. It takes away resources from WvW, it encourages k-tran/blob, isn’t fun, it belong in PvE, etc…)
By that same logic lets remove dungeons. All dungeons are is a zerk/stack afk fest that has too high of rewards.
There is no reason to get rid of it. The map wasn’t made to be a k-train, quick rank/leveling system. The players turned it into that. I remember when it first launched, there were actual fight, people defending, capping points, etc. Just like in WvW. It was certainly more fast paced than WvW, which made it cool. But people saw an opportunity, and took advantage of it. That isn’t really a reason to get rid of it. As said before, if you don’t like it, don’t play it.

Yes. Free up some server resources and maybe real WvW won’t be as much of a lagfest is is now.
I don’t think you understand how networking hundreds of clients across the globe actually works. WvW will just become more of a queue-fest.
We could remove PvE entirely if you think freeing up servers will solve the lag. Removing an arbitrary instance that’s completely unrelated to the WvW server instances doesn’t seem like it will change things.

Ah, I see my mistake. More to my point is, ANet should begin working on new gimmicks, or simply a new EotM. I’m all for keeping it, but it is still a valuable testing ground which should be used to test as a dual purpose to its place as the overflow map.

WvW would actually be one of the recommended places. As I remember it, before Eotm existed, Friday was a karma train day. I was on Crystal Desert back then and I remember some commanders would organize flipping stuff back and forth. With eotm there’s no need to set that up now, but I bet some would if it were gone.
