BG is dead when MERC left. Maybe if they can rally up like 15k gold and buy all the guilds then maybe, but right now they dont stand a chance, especially agaisnt JQ

I didn’t say JQ fully paid the transfer cost of any guild. My own guild and a few others tried to put some funds together awhile ago, when JQ was looking really bad on numbers, but it wasn’t much. This was awhile ago, and recent transfers like MERC, for example, didn’t get any money that I know of.

As WvW guilds, we don’t have a lot of money, and I’m really confused as to where people think we get all this cash. Besides just not spending any time farming, we’re also expending a lot of gp building sup siege, upgrading stuff, buying feasts etc. etc.

Some servers regardless of T1 will pitch in to help cover the cost of transfers.

Anyone who is paying large sums of gold to bribe guilds however is in for a future let downs as those guilds can leave at the drop of a hat. Maybe members will quit in droves for a new game or some drama occurs amongst guilds that ends up with the guild that was bribed to leave for greener pastures.

What’s the going rate now? 10 bucks for 600 gems? Unless one works minimum wage at McDonalds, 10 bucks is throwaway money for an otherwise cheap entertainment game like GW2.

I know of one person who buys gems and turns it to gold. I have never seen him give so much of a single gold of that to any of his friends and guildmates, let alone other servers.

Indeed, I really hope no server wasted gold on paying for guilds led by ex JQ commanders like Noodles in the past, I think that guy is on his 4th server in the past 2 months, hah! and if BG continues their downward spiral (which I hope doesn’t happen btw) as they have bounced back in the past, guys like Noodles is gonna be the first player to jump ship.

People in MMO are **king insane. It has been so every other MMO. People spend hundreds and thousands trying to get that pixel ranks and gear. I wouldn’t be surprised the money BG used on gems to buy guilds is over the cost of my car

They had KnT and EE map blob on BG BL. I wouldn’t say they weren’t paying attention to their own map.

If it’s between SoR and JQ head to head and some poor sod T2 server, SoR would win. SoR has EU through NA to counter JQ’s SEA PvD.

If the match is SoR/JQ/BG, it’s a bit in the air. It’s a fight for first between SoR & JQ with BG possibly in a position to play king maker. Though JQ hasn’t been known to aggressively shoot for #1 in tight matches. I’d lean more towards SoR being willing to put in the OT to lock down a win.

from a tc perspetive, as someone that has commanded the past two weeks against BG and either SOR/JQ mainly on EB, I must say…BG does NOT know how to play the map. There were countless times I tried encouraging a 2v1 on either SOR or JQ with BG only to have our towers reset or a full frontal assault on our OL, and this happened 90 percent of the time. Not once was I able to draw BG into a 2v1 against the third server, not one time. So naturally I then focused BG and on almost every single occassion JQ/SOR would pile up and we would 2v1 BG for a few hours till I had to log. I have nothing personal against BG (as a matter of fact I have a particular distaste for SOR) but your map politics on eb are below what I was expecting and you got double stuffed because of it.

hmm having faced both of the servers during our past 2 matchup, i think jq is more aggressive atm, but the mass transfers will probably cause a lot of unorganized zerging whereas sor had those kinda numbers for a while now and had time to get used to it.

jq wouldnt give us a rest or a break at all eventhough they were sitting on 600ppt, sor is very competitive, but knows when its time to give someone a break. they never spawncamped us or laughed at us for not having the coverage. when they owned almost everything, they would leave and go fight tequatl or so. they even gave us time to upgrade so they could have a little fight.

jq is just leaving a 30 man zerg on the map to defen everything they own vs the only 15 people that havent given up yet. when those people cap something, which is a little morale boost, jq will attack and if they dont succeed in the first try they will call the entire 70 man blob over.

u guys gotta learn when too much is too much. u dont need to own everything to boost your ego. the t2 servers like to actually play the game and u are destroying it and destroying their moral so u can steal more of their guilds.

It’s not really the ego they are trying to boost its the overall morale of the fairweather population. We all know they can be very fickle and after a few wipes leave you high and dry. After a over whelming blow out week, those people come out and play the next week thinking the same thing will happen. Though it may not be a blow out, they have high morale and are energized, it really helps in on the field. The last time JQ came up from the T2 match, they kitten on everyone. I for one was shocked by how impressive JQ looked that week.

We must play at different times, I see the complete opposite when I’m in EB. Every night SoR and BG would be pushing each other while TC seemed to be nonexistent. Every once in a while a TC force would push SM and maybe durios but wouldn’t even hit rogues on SoR’s side.

I sincerely hope, that if anyone decides to leave BG (or any T1 server), they would have the decency to move to a T2 server. Balancing the Gold League is a win-win for everyone at this point. I’m sure we can all agree that 7 weeks of competitive matchups is far better than blowouts and 1v1s.

SoR doesn’t pay for guilds, no. They have the most pleasant community and the highest skilled pugs through extensive guild “training” sessions, so are extremely formidable despite their population disparity.

Population is rarely important for individual battles in T1, maps are usually fairly full and most guilds can’t pull more than ~30 members at once so most zerg weight is in the pugs.

Testament to the fact that population isn’t the defining factor in WvW is JQs continued place at the bottom of T1.

You really think this is how it works? Do some quick math, do you realize how ridiculously high the amount of gold to move even a relatively small guild is? What you are describing is what every good server does: raise gold to ease the transfer cost. If you think a server can move a few hundred players and tip them as well… You need to look at current gem prices.

I think it is great the top few servers do this. It lets guilds fully transfer to where they want to play when otherwise they could not. This is how it works on all t1 servers, anyone telling you otherwise is incorrect. Source: I have been on two of the servers and see the screenshot from SoR ts.
