Good to see JQ is still going strong after all this time… and that Raw didn’t run off to another server after getting commander.
Maybe I’ll play some more WvW sometime when GW2 can actually hold my attention for more than a couple of hours.

I must absolutely give you props on super solid job with your recruiting. I do not enjoy playing against all of your recent efforts. I totally understand you are not the only GL/Commander recruiting from JQ, but I have seen nothing but the up most grace and dignity you have represented on behalf of your server’s community.
Hopefully we, over here on SoS, can do half the job you have done to help ensure strong, epic battles week in and week out against each other. And we fail, and drop a tear or 2, I believe my server’s community will only get stronger for having faced such a grand adversary not only in game, but also on the recruitment threads.

Quit making it sound like Sea of Sorrows doesn’t have the numbers. Now that we’re on the equal footing when it comes to numbers/coverage, I don’t see you guys saying “good fight, JQ” anymore now that you guys are losing.

Just a note, JQ currently has Queues on all maps for much of the day, we have by far the largest and strongest NA contingent in T1, and our EU and Oceanic coverage zones are getting stronger every day.

Point is, JQ is no longer in need of more Bodies in WvW, if your guild is thinking of transferring to a new home in T1, i would recommend Blackgate, Sea of Sorrows, Kaineng or Sanctum of Rall. All of them have solid communities, and a great organizational structure.

1st and foremost, Tier one will naturally have guilds with the most amount of numbers and coverage. It’s the way of the Tier progression. The fact is we DON’T have ques during our NA lunch hours(EU times) and Sea/Oceanic times. On top of that, our NA prime-time ques are Only 10-15 minutes

All my leader colleagues and myself took the opportunity to reach out to those guilds that WANT the competitive play without loosing all their gains overnight.

Thank you for the kind words. It’s been a hectic couple weeks and countless hours speaking with all interested guilds but the benefits definitely payed out!

I’ve enjoyed fighting against SoS ever since you guys joined our match-up and all of the consecutive wins inspired us to move forward!

Ohai, I just wanted to thank you personally for making JQ a far more attractive home than SoS. Thank you very much.

Ques are here and there but not always there. Usually 5 mins or less and can be 20 to 30+ on prime weekend. Anyone who lived on JQ back the first few months would have killed for 30 min or less queues.

To add on top of the latest comment, we can easily route guilds between border maps if there are ques (NA primetime).

With the coordination of our guilds, i’ve managed to get over 70+ of my members in one map in 15 minutes WITH a preexisting que.

I’ll say one thing about the recruitment. We talked to people who were assessing their options on the server they were on and if it would be there long term. Did we spam recruit? No but we did talk to leaders in our community TS and brought in other members of the community that could help talk about both how things were for the small guilds and for the big guilds. We also didn’t lie that we had coverage gaps and they could help us if they came but we by no means put winning WvW as the #1 priority. We brought in guilds that could contribute to the community first and make an impact on the battlefields second. It’s not us building a community your afraid of its the fact that by doing so and proving it has longevity it has put us in an excellent position in WvW as well. The community was always first in our process.

Some people from opposing servers, it would seem, do not like fighting versus a server who may have a similar wvww population. (Que times are only really a problem, for EVERY t1 server on reset day and prime times during the weekend on the 2 most popular maps. On BL’s the max I’ve seen is 15m during NA Prime on a weekend.)

JQ’s approach to WvW has always been different than SoS’s approach to WvW. Hopefully people will find the style they love the most on any server and enjoy their playtime.

Can someone please update the answer on the first page with all the guilds that have already transferred to JQ so people can get a feeling on how many people have transferred already and if there guild should, currently it is very miss leading for people that haven’t been keeping up.

Seems to me JQ is doing what many other servers have done since launch…gearing up to crush the competition by filling time zone gaps. Adapt or die?

As an SOS player I have no issue with what JQ is doing. Good for them for recruiting guilds to become a strong server. There is nothing wrong with that. Its the way WvW works.

All I’m concerned with is improving the benefits of our server. For almost every guild that has joined JQ, they have stayed. Clearly we are doing something right.

Fact is, like I mentioned before, Tier one consists of the top contending guilds with the best coverage hour wide, if your server cannon field numbers at a given time, you will loose PPT thus loosing overall score.

Many guilds out there want to join servers that can uphold the tick when they log in, seeing as why we received so many oceanic. All we did was give them the run down, how our situation really is, and what we can offer if they consider us.

Who would have thought that such a large amount of SoS would act this way when the tables were turned on them…

Technically you shouldn’t call them SOS, because they reacted by going to JQ lol.

Play everyday since day 1 in JQ. I must say, the dedication put by all the GMs and players new and old is remarkable.

Reminds me of DAOC so much.

Very sure JQ will be the best server for years to come.

Please for the sake of the game, stop recruiting!! You guys have superior 24/7 coverage right now that no other server can match. In almost all timezones you guys can field enough players to cover all 4 maps!!! No other server can do that…

IF and WHEN you do beat every server you face by 50k+ week in, week out you will be demotivating people to fight you guys, they’ll start to realize, “Why should i bother trying when the outcome will be the same.” I bet some of you guys were feeling that when SOS were doing the same and why participation in T1 was declining.

Yes people may still play for FUN, but it will become less and less over time.

I can already picture the outcome once ANET releases wvw with a reward system, people will transfer over to JQ just to get a piece of the prize.

I know winning is a great feeling, but think of the other communities before you put
your needs first!

To my fellow Sea of Sorrows players, if you are looking for a fun and stress free server that is dedicated to WvW without dictating your play style, we sincerely welcome you on Jade Quarry.

This is not a recruitment post. We do not need more players to be competitive. Rather, we have always respected Sea of Sorrow players for their dedication and drive to be the best in WvW. We are a rare breed, out of the millions of Guild Wars 2 players only a few thousand crave for the heat of battle as we do. Do not disperse into the wind, there are still more battles to be fought! For the longevity of the game, I believe the healthy environment on Jade Quarry provides an unique opportunity for us to forge steel from iron.

I have followed Jade Quarry since its selection as the preferred destination by ex-DAoC players, having played on the Percival server of old. Jade Quarry has been one of the most pleasant and vibrant community I have been associated with, including Percival and Phoenix Throne in Warhammer Online. What makes Jade Quarry special is that all guilds and individuals are unified under a single website and teamspeak server, freely accessible to all. Jade Quarry has no overarching alliance, or egos that tell you how or when or how long to play. As you must be aware recently we welcomed the transfers of some of the larger guilds in the game to our server. They are to us as brothers and sisters long lost, coming home. We are equals united in our efforts for the betterment of Jade Quarry. We will forge a server with no equal, a server where you know at any time anywhere we will have each other’s back, and if you need a break or want to try something new, that’s fantastic too, because the next time in battle your steel will be sharper and your resolve the harder.

You guys are too easy to squish. The ones that transferred to your server before paid actually improved your quality but they still can’t make up for the rest of you.

JQ is a very good server with lots of good guilds and good times to be had. I fought against them for a long, long time, and we (SBI) and them formed a very healthy rivalry. If there is ever a server I root for in the midst of watching T1 from the depths of T5, it’s JQ. If people are lost and desperately want T1 combat, of all the servers there I’d recommend JQ for their community, spirit, determination, and skill.

…But of course, SBI could also use some love these days too.

For those Guilds looking into T1 NA server prospects, consider Jade Quarry (NA)

• Roughly 20 hrs daily WvW coverage
• Serverwide/active teamspeak
• weekly leaders meeting
• Oceanic/Sea/NA/ EU(late) coverage
• T1 rankings since Kickoff
• Kickstart influence/g-event options for new guilds

Jade quarry lacks one timezone, that is European lunch/evening times. Even a guild of 20+ fielding can do wounder! No que times around these zones! Message me if your guild is seriously considering new options! We have the platform for your guild’s wvw needs!

-Small Guilds Matter: We do have a few ‘large’ guilds on JQ, but the majority of our forces are smaller guilds working together. We do not pressure guilds into jamming themselves the larger guilds; we encourage you bring your small guild to the fight, and provide as much — or as little — support as you need. Message me in game if you’re curious about what a small guild can offer JQ. My main guild has ~50 members, about half of which are active in WvW in some capacity.

-Active PvE/Dungeon community: Don’t like to spend all of your time in WvW? Don’t worry, we don’t, either You will never find a shortage of people to do world events/Temples/FoTm/dungeon runs with.

-Stability: JQ has been in Tier 1 since the start (okay okay, so we slipped for ONE week back at the beginning…) and we can offer your guild a spot with one of the most competitive WvW communities out there. 13 1st place finishes; 11 2nd place; 3 3rd place.

In spite of the claims, we are not queued 24/7. You will hit occasional BL queues during NA prime time, but it’s never on ~every map outside of reset night.

We welcome guilds from any time zone, especially Euro and Oceanic at the time! Come along and see what T1 can offer you!

You’re right, there are a few small gaps where there aren’t queues.

lol JQ is still recruiting? i dont think we from europe or any guild from EU will come to a stacked server like JQ. its like saying Vizunah needs more people from NA. on the contrary we need more people from NA and SEA/Asia to stop Vizunah from PvDooring us.

We really have to stop necroing this thread. We are perfectly fine as a server with what we have. Other server’s need transfers more than us. So let’s stop necroing this thread every time we get bored on the forums.
