Good luck with that, since names are hidden in WvW and anet don’t have the good sense to let us bring these facts to light on forums where if they won’t ban people for hacking at least the community could shut them out on their own by shunning them and/or petitioning anet…

They don’t generally ban hackers. In fact, the forum mods are explicitly told to hide the fact hacks even exist in the first place. The pink thief admitted to using unf trainer to go under the ground and was never banned; dgins ALWAYS uses the app to various degrees in various ways and there a very blatant 7 month old video of him using the speed hack and he wasn’t banned. No, the admins do not ban hackers, but the forum mods ban the people bringing attention to the ignored subject which NEEDS attention. Such injustice and hypocrisy.

search “gw2 hacks” “[Lun] is pretty good”

So now when is anet going to make hacks impossible by making movement and such server side with validity checks etc? Pretty much 80%+ of mmos have this stuff server side. The ones that don’t are hack fests.

I farm more than a chinese gold seller.

OP, I’d like to direct you to what one of the GM’s, Michael Henninger, said about how to report hackers/cheaters in a post about 1.5 weeks ago. Below is the thread and the quotes:

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/wuv/wuv/Ingame-GMs-do-they-exist/page/2

[tl:dr] Use the in-game botting option when reporting the perpetrator. A GM will come in game to observe the act in question and move forward from there.

I hope this helps!

All of us (GMs) have character names starting with GM (GM Proheals, for example). We are online 24/7 and responding to reports sent by you via the in-game reporting system. 98% of the time we’re invisible clearing bots and the like.

To remove someone using hacks (teleports, speed, etc) we have to witness the act in game so you must use the in-game reporting tool. The only exception is if you can point us to chat where the player cheating has said they are using a 3rd party program.

Hope this helps, I’ll check in later for questions.

Later he added…

I can’t speak to tools. I can tell you that using the ‘botter’ option is indeed sufficient.

As for the exploits are ANet address, this isn’t a Customer Support address. Exploits is more of a ‘I found a way to cheat here’s how to do it’ thing and Quality Assurance reviews those.

GMs don’t belong to a server so wondering if you’re server has a GM is futile. We’re everywhere.

To further clarify – exploits@arena.net is not used for reviewing reports of cheaters. This is for notifying us of found exploits so that QA can work on reporting fixes.

In-game for botting is always the right way to go. This is (generic, I understand) a report that a GM sees and responds to by going into the game. I am looking at new ways to let players report but I’m going to need a few days to poke holes in my methods.

EDITED for clarity.
