The Queue isn’t that bad during the week, though it’s certainly there daily now. I personally still HATE blue area so I’m much happier in green lol VNG lives in Eternal. I think the biggest problem is just the lack of a 3rd opponent. I’ve only had Queues (long ones) in TC and EB.

Was a great night against TC in EB. You guys put up one hell of a fight defending Langor. I feel like with a little more practice and better coordination and you’ll have us pulling back in no time!

Let’s give a little perspective on the situation.

A few months ago back when I was on CD, we were fighting TC. We were beating them by a lot, so we camped them. We put up tents, got out the marshmallows, strapped our food into containers and hung them from the trees (because bears are kitten) and we sang kitten ba yah outside of their spawn for a few days.

A few weeks later TC came back and this time the tables were turned, and within a few days they were the ones lighting the fires, breaking out the smores and I’m pretty sure that I saw atleast one camper wearing a forever lazy, which goes against all camper etiquette (shame on you).

Now TC is getting camped by SoR, and the forum warriors are out en masse because they have nothing better to do.

It’s the circle of life, and it moovvess us allll.

Just take your licks and deal with it. We will probably be the target of all of the t1 leftovers for quite some time (just as CD was when they were in T2 for quite some time). You learn to deal with it, and enjoy the small victories and forget about the numbers on the board.

Work with your guilds and you will see that SoR are not invincible – and there are still plenty of good fights to be had.

This is the most beautiful post ever. It reminds me of why I love my guild, and also pleases the yak god who has a keen appreciation of humor.

meh. transfers, scoreboard, spawn camping, glicko rating. whatever. it doesn’t much matter to me. this is exactly the kind of match i’ve been hoping for, going all the way back to when i begged FA and YB to double team us. this is something TC’s needed for a long time. it’s these kinds of matches where people realize what’s important in WvW, and good habits start getting formed.

sure, people won’t be happy about it. players will fade away from WvW. some may even throw temper tantrums before the do. i don’t really mind. it’s all part of the process. we ended up basically developing zerg atrophy, so it’s only logical that it’ll be a bit painful while we work our way out of that.

where we end up, who are opponents are, what the score is. doesn’t matter. as long as we’re handling our own business the best we can, it’s all good. these kinds of matches are excellent learning opportunities. when those who have no interest in learning boil away, and those who are interested become the majority, WvW will become quite a magical place.

those who remain will be stronger than they ever were, bonds will be formed in the trenches. we will lean on each other, and we will support each other. and those who march through to the end will be able to handle whatever comes their way.

plus, there’s superman crapping out free siege and the orbs are gone. this is far from the roughest match we’ve been in. if we can go through matches like the first SoR and BG matches, and come out stronger for it, we certainly can do the same now. we just need to have some patience.

I swear, I started to make a post late last night about the things I’d learned in EB this weekend. Things I never would have learned had our position not been what it was. But I was tired and the words were fighting me, so I gave it up. And here you come along and say it so much more eloquently than I could have on my best day. I wouldn’t exactly say that it’s the match I’d hoped for. For me personally, I must admit there is a mild undercurrent of “not quite as much fun as usual” only because I don’t have the added tension of not knowing how close the score will be at the end of the week. Bit like what every jockey that wasn’t riding Secretariat in the Belmont must have felt like.

But there was still plenty of reason for me to log in as much as I do any other weekend and I still did have a great time. Not everybody will feel like I do, and that’s cool. I didn’t buy anybody else’s game, after all, so I have nothing to say about what anybody else enjoys or doesn’t; I can only hope that most of us can pull together and make what we can out of this week and come out stronger at the end of it.

I like how TC has given a superior attitude to servers they have beat in the past, but now that they get it….not so fun.

T1 servers want SoR in T1, SoR should be in T1 and some on SoR gamed the system.

There was no “gaming the system”. Keep thinking that. There was no upper command meeting where we all discussed how to get the rating close but stay in tier 2. We wanted to get transfers in, most people didn’t bother logging in to help this along. We had numerous blackouts that allowed both TC and SBI to gain ground again in the PPT. Had we known ANet was going to place every server at “Very High” on Thursday(?) we would have kept playing at full capacity.

The idea that you didn’t want to be T1 this week and to take it easy and use the time to coordinate with the newer guilds was something I heard no less then 2 guild leaders say in TS.

I don’t blame them a whole lot for that, but let’s be honest about what really happened.

It’s a vocal minority on both sides. There is still a lot of respect to be had from both sides to those out there fighting.

just a reminder in case they wait till late tonight to do the patch. hold off on harvesting nodes so you don’t accidently finish the daily before the patch and miss out on one of the new tokens coming out.

I can certainly understand some of the vitriol being spewed by certain posters from TC. If SBI had not imploded, and this was a true 3-way fight, then I would like to think that perhaps the tone of this thread would be different.

Hey don’t blame us (SBI) for your poor displays of sportsmanship this week. Adversity reveals character. In this case, we have sore losers and sore winners. Anyone can put on a happy face when there is an evenly constested, competitive match. It’s when things aren’t quite as fun that we see who we really are…and some of you (on SoR and TC) should be very embarrassed about who you really are.

SoR – this is the match you played for last week, well you got it. We know it’s boring but that’s your fault, no one elses. Deal with it.

TC – Of course you’re going to get camped. Think of the message they’re trying to send and see if you really want to respond. SoR is running around in massive groups and camping the respawns (of TC and SBI). They don’t want you out there fighting. They want to discourage you from entering WvW so they can dominate the map. You need to accept this before you walk down those steps. You’re going to get zerged and camped and taunted, that’s the game this week. Know that going in and you’ll be better off.

SBI – I really think we’re in the best position of the three servers this week. On Friday we’ll be in a more competitive bracket for our server size. We’ll still probably be short on numbers but we won’t have to put up with what’s been going on thus far in this matchup. For the rest of the week just know that you’ll be up against 2-5x you’re numbers in any given fight so just take out as many as you can. We’re winning anything close to an even fight so we’ll most likely see more numbers thrown at us as the week drags on.

Also SBI, please don’t come to the forums to complain about being camped or laughed at. It’s happened to all of us in the past couple of weeks and it’ll probably happen even more this week. Our opponents are frustrated so they’re going to take that frustration out on us given the chance. They’re going to kick us when we’re down because that’s really the best time to kick someone. Just get through the week however you need to and be ready to go on Friday night.

From what I understand, they modified the culling to prioritize enemies first and then added in prerendered place holders for characters rather than waiting for our machines to load them fully before being displayed. I’m anxious to see if it is any better or worse now.

from what i read i belive this is correct. sounds like the culling will still be in effect but they are adding basic models with low detail that will render faster during heavy loads.

Lol he was on TS laughing for some reason he joined WvW and it put him in a match up showing as Maguuma and Fissure of Woe, probably 1 of the funniest bugs we’ve ever seen.

No, it doesn’t go both ways. You don’t want to be called out on cheating/exploiting, then don’t do it. Games have rules, follow them.

Notice we never do it though? We actually take the time to contact one of your guys in game instead of spreading the drama to the forum? And most of these accusations have been explained, and surprise, surprise, turn out not to be exploits.

As for the throwing the match issue last week, I will personally admit to being guilty of that for CDS not giving it our 100%. I actually used the week to catch up on sleep I havent had in 10 weeks. Anyone from SoR or CDS can tell you I sleep about 2 hours a day between leading WvW and watching my Son. So yes, I didnt go hard last week..I slept 6 hours a day.

Also, I will sincerely apologize for any member of SoR coming onto here with a bad/negative post. Unfortunately, I cant control everyone, I can only apologize for them and wish TC all the best in their future WvW endeavors.

I honestly think it’ll come down to the last day of match before we know for certain who lands where. There’s so many variables.

We have all been on the receiving end of an overwhelming force. We have all been “camped” at our spawns one time or another. We have all felt bored, because the matchup was going too well in our favor or completely against us. We have all suffered, at one time or another, from long queues. The WvW ranking system is not broken. The servers with the most skilled and dedicated players will move their way up the ladder while others will suffer defeat (this is by no means a boastful statement).

Throughout the history of GW2, so far, many guilds have changed servers for one reason or another creating an uneven playing field. SoR has fought tooth and nail to achieve its goal of reaching Tier 1. SoR has spent more time in any single position than any other server, at least in the past eighteen weeks of recorded rankings: http://mos.millenium.org/matchups/evolution/na. SoR spent eleven weeks in 5th place where eight of those weeks were spent trying to overtake BG. BG however, was able to finally push to T1, because they had much stronger Oceanic coverage. Our dedicated NAs acquired us the needed points to secure 5th and not fall below that position during our time against BG, until their Oceanic forces made a final push and their NAs defended with everything they had to allow them to ascend into T1.

SoR realized an opportunity was before us to secure a spot in T1, and we have amassed our forces to take claim to our rightful position in the top 3. I am very satisfied with the improvement of our guilds, and I enjoy fighting along side the old Rallians as well as the new. My initial reaction to some of the newer guilds was less than positive to say the least, but I am pleased to say that many of them have proved my initial concerns wrong.

There will be hard times to come for SoR and TC. As SoR moves up, we will be faced with two worthy opponents, which will most likely be SoS and JQ. As SoR leaves T2, TC will have one new and one old opponent.

To both TC and SBI, don’t give up the fight. Each new fight brings needed experience for perfecting our skills in WvW. Like I said before, I am excited to see PINK improving. They are slowly moving from a force that I used to mock to a more formidable force. You all have put up some good fights so far, but don’t let SoR’s point lead get in the way of your goals. Never give up, but keep on fighting.

I appreciate the constant compliments, from all your guilds. Its nice to know we have made a mark even in an unbalanced matchup. That’s actually the kind of guild we want to be, and I think we’re getting there.

I’m saddened by the need for people to put down fellow Coasters though, even if you think you are doing so in some sort of friendly way. The truth is, its hard to lose, and even harder to lose badly. Track your own threads coming in second week after week and you see exactly the same sort of posts you are seeing here. Then check out the other matchup threads and again, they are much the same or even worse.

I want/wanted us to be above that, but noone is above human nature and if you come to the internet expecting to find the best of humanity then you will always be dissapointed. But this street goes both ways. As few of us that try to keep above the negativity and bad sportsmanship on our side, it can be equaly said that there are few of you being above the chest thumping and back patting.

Tarnished Coast will be a great server regardless of what tier we are in, period. I don’t think alot of servers can say that. We could move down to Tier 8 tomorow and still have a full server at all hours because we are more than just WvW. Maybe you are too, I’ll never know. But I do know that I’m proud of the little rp server that moved up and over so many of the people and guilds that are now newly transferred to the top 4 servers. We win as a team, and we lose as a team. Let’s just finish this matchup, go our seperate ways for now, then we’ll see you again once this whole Anet caused disaster is over.
