Aww man. I was hoping we’d move to tier 3 and find a nice cozy home there. I’m afraid we’ll always be outnumbered in tier 2. The top four servers are monsters! (You guys are awesome!) And, as far as I know, TC has no real ambitions of ending up in tier 1. So what does it matter what tier we are in as long as the matches are competitive? (Correct me if I’m wrong. Are the rewards actually different if you are in a higher tier?)

I’m of the philosophy that I enjoy any sport/activity as long as it is competitive, even if I suck at said activity. Sadly, I’m not a good enough of a sportsman to thoroughly enjoy a crushing defeat.

I mean, maybe if we were just competitive in our own borderland! I’ll go play there! Nope. Crushed at home, too. I’ll go RP/dungeoneer.

Daggers for mobility, open field fights, fights against few to moderate size forces, and harassment. Focus for major defensive skills (incl. siege defense). Scepter for medium range, condition spam, tracking thieves/mesmers, and hitting targets without LOS (hopefully the devs will fix this).

I already can’t hit line of sight with an elementalist. How is it he has to stand on top by the very edge of the wall to hit anything below that is still 50 feet from the wall? How is it that standing up one top on the surface of the keep by the short stub of the wall that almost nothing is in both line of sight and range? If we are ground targeting, that is.

More to your point, however. Sure, for the elementalist who is maybe level 10, that’s an exageration, has no idea how to play the class, and just got all his skills. Let’s cut the player some slack and some mentoring is a nice thing. For the elementalist who is in full exotics, level 80, and knows what they are doing, or presumably so, its a bit odd.

The biggest implication is that without a rating history, you have more volatility. Puts a lot of pressure on those in T1 next week to not be the loser. With a server like BG most likely dominating T2 next week and gaining a lot of rating, someone in T1 will most likely fall back to T2 the following week.

@Indo, we have fun where the fun is to be had – balanced fair fights for all 3 servers in a Tier. If it means we belong to T4/T5 so be it. We never had any T1 aspirations given the kind of server we are – we’re lighthearted guys overall who just want to have some fun with friends and have a good time while staying competitive.
We haven’t reached T2 due to any massive influx (and I’m definitely not pointing any server out there, merely speaking of my server). We started at lower tiers, and climbed all the way up learning new stuff, making new friends (even amongst our enemies!), facing some great opponents, and so on.

As long as that tradition continues, I don’t mind staying whatever Tier TC is in – since I know the friends I made here are to stay here and will fight regardless of the odds and ratings!

SO what if we get down to T5/6 for a short time? We’ll fight our way back up. I don’t think you full grasp TC. We don’t fight for the ratings, we fight for fun! Who says FA will eat up our rating? In the end, it doesn’t matter. TC will have fun no matter where we end up!

If it helps the game as a whole, I’m for it. Server loyalty should not come before that. That said, I think the reset is a rather large risk. I think next week would have actually seen a lot of servers settling into the tier they belong in.

They also mentioned they made other changes to the ranking system. Those might very well do things like adjust for wvw population, or other things that would prevent servers from dropping way below where they should be. Total speculation, but there are other changes to the ranking system coming in.

Looking forward to a reset, and faster placement in a tier that makes sense. Makes me wonder if any of the people that transferred recently regret their decision to hose their previous community for personal glory.

Also, after playing SoR this week, I would say they have a good chance of staying in T1. Blackgate was pretty dominant, but SoR seems even stronger in coverage and tactics together. Time will tell, but best of luck to everyone.

As for the throwing the match issue last week, I will personally admit to being guilty of that for CDS not giving it our 100%. I actually used the week to catch up on sleep I havent had in 10 weeks. Anyone from SoR or CDS can tell you I sleep about 2 hours a day between leading WvW and watching my Son. So yes, I didnt go hard last week..I slept 6 hours a day.

Also, I will sincerely apologize for any member of SoR coming onto here with a bad/negative post. Unfortunately, I cant control everyone, I can only apologize for them and wish TC all the best in their future WvW endeavors.

Our population will always keep us in a competitive tier, thats not what this is about. We never had any problem coming in third to you and BG. We eagerly awaited Sbi joining the fun. What we didn’t like were the rules changing on us and having to watch our hardwork just evaporate because other people can’t handle those things. We want 3 equal opponents playing at their best, and we want to be apart of that.

Are we seriously passive aggressively accusing other servers of DDOSing TS servers now? For the love of god, do I really need to point out how stupid that is? SoR is winning by 150k and will be blue next week in T1, which, from what I hear, was the plan all along. Just enjoy your victory.

I’m also pretty sure TC is happy about the rating reset because it means we’ll be shuffled into a more balanced match-up faster, and not because of anything related to SoR. Not all of us care about being a T1 server.

Really, this match-up thread should really just be closed. SBI seems to be the only server that can keep it classy now.

Also, we’re not annoyed that SoR is going to t1 or that you’re bigger than us. We’ve been annoyed at how you’ve handled yourself as a server and how your ‘community’ will throw out any sportsmanship or decency for a a little higher rating. I would love to lose badly and move down to t3/t4 and slowly work ourselves up. I just want to have fun, can’t have that while SoR is in our tier and while you’re posting in our match threads.

Posting threads regarding a server’s internal matters in here and trying to drag them into dirt fight… am sure you guys are ready for T1. I said one thing to a certain buddy of yours who spies on our forums now and then and trolls us. I’m sure he can pass the message to you. Too bad my post had to be deleted. Yea we had some internal issues which are quite common when tiers and environments change and new guilds move in. Not a big deal. We all can dig lots of dirt on each other.. I remember BG specifically mentioning YOU complaining all the time… so let’s not get into that. TC is above those dirt tactics. If that’s what it takes to be in T2, I’m better off in T4, or hell, T8. As I said again, you’re definitely ready for T1… good luck!

It’ll either be very good or very bad. More than likely this will be the tiers after next matchup.

Kaineng is in an easy matchup. They’ll take T1 probably rank 1 with how high they are scoring.
Ehmry Bay is in an easy matchup. They’ll take T1 probably rank 2.
Sorrow’s Furnace is in an easy matchup. They’ll take T1.
Darkhaven will be T2
CD will be T2
YB will be T2
Blackgate/FA will be T3
Devona’s Rest will be T3
Borlis Pass will be T3
JQ/SoS/SoR/TC will be T4 or below

Again guys, not worth it. As for the server reset, that’s quite a relief for me honestly. This tier is quite toxic for the server imho. It’s not as bad as eve online, but it gets worse as you go up. At least, this gives us a chance to re adjust our perspective.

The reset is one of the worst ideas I’ve heard in a while.

regardless of everything going on, just wanted to say every fight i’ve been in i’ve had good fights to be had – to both TC and SBI! regardless of if it was a 1v1 when we caught one another solo-roaming, small scale skirmishes or when i wsa part of a zerg knocking on your door, or if i got caught in one of your trains.

there were more than a handful of skilled and fun players i’ve encountered with the little time i’ve had to log on. just had our first son and he is so frigging precious. ; ))) so my time is more dedicated to the little one for now. though i still am blessed enough to get back into the game when i can and always look forward to fighting you lot.

to all TC-ers, i can’t apologize on people’s behalfs (spelling?), but hope you know that things that are said on here are not out of malice. at least, that is not meant by the server at large. what i do love and can appreciate is that we all have server pride (those who jump around is another story, but again, in life, everyone has their own story, so who are we to judge?), and it shows. it can be a beautiful thing! but let’s not let it get in the way of one thing that we all have in common, regardless of tier, of server, of timezone – the love and passion to game, to live in a made up world that can be so real, to be competitive and have fun.

overall, i don’t know anyone personally from TC, but i frigging love the vibe of you guys. i hope to visit with the new guesting feature if and when i can. you lot never give up (it’s truuueeeee!!!) and you keep improving and implementaing new tactics. so keep your heads up and in your heart of hearts hold on to what keeps you guys going. though i’m sure none of you needed me to tell you that.

to SBI – to those that are still fighting the good fight. keep it up! i will say, i’ve run into more SBI than TC in this match-up, so most of the fights i’ve had were against you guys. and a ton of fun. been learning a lot throughout. ton of 1v1’s, 2v2’s and other small scale battles against you all as well. wherever you may end up, good luck! get your grounding again and hopefully we’ll be able to match up again soon enough. you guys are a strong server and looking forward to seeing a bigger, better SBI in the near future.

SoR – what can i say. firstborn to the Sanctum and will never leave. you’ve all come such a looong way and thanks for always having me felt welcome and along for the ride, regardless of how many times i’ve logged o before, regardless of how skilled i was. know that i’ll do my darned best each time i hit “B” and travel to the Mists to fight along you all, regardless of the circumstances. i’m still learning every day, so much apprecaited to those that accommodate me and bear with me. a tip of my stag helm to you all. and yes, this darn thing is heavy, but i’ll tip my helm to each and every one of you.
