A few weeks ago, you were able to open up the big map, and click on the tag. That would give you an option to join the squad.
I can’t seem to do that anymore. I can still type /squadjoin name or of course reach them physically and click on them. But that’s a bit more cumbersome when you suck at spelling.
And as a side note, if I right click their name on chat that just shows invite to party which doesn’t work obviously. And while we’re at it, if someone’s in a party, and you try to join on them via chat, it still sometimes just shows “invite to party” which you can’t, and you have to type /join or have them invite you.
So basically
Why was this functionality removed?
This is 2015, having to still use text commands to be the most reliable seems to be quite a throwback.

They broke it a couple of weeks ago, yes. Seems to have happened in two stages – first the join squad appeared on map, but couldnt be clicked (like it was greyed out) and then the ability to click a tag just went away. At least thats my experience?
Also, would be good if squad commander didn’t have to be tagged up. There is a way around this, by the tagged up commander leaving squad and then re-joining untagged, but would be nice to be able to create a squad untagged for when we’re running closed raids.
Broken just means it’s working as intended. And yes it is broken, gotta manually type it out….which doesn’t always work cause they have to have all the stuff ticked off and you don’t know if they have it or not.

Yea. First by typing /squadjoin (name) which worked, and then asking them if they had open join selected.
Thanks. I’ve seen similar problems with some of the squad settings being checked out set but not actually registering until you reset them, so I was curious if this was related.
I also hear that it’s possible to join the squad of your enemies in EotM. I’m not sure about EBG and the borderlands though, but if that’s true it needs to be fixed ASAP.
Was commanding in Edge a few nights ago and someone told me we had someone from the other side that had snuck in to our squad and was watching us but I didn’t get to confirm it.
She’s right. You don’t even need to know the driver’s name, a squad member’s name alone will suffice. Easy way to prevent this is to select the Closed Squad or Invite Only options in the squad drop-down menu.
