When I first arrived I was on a mountain that I had never been to before.

Yep, tried twice. Once I ended up on that mountain with you, the next time I was in Dragonbrand’s BL on the middle island. Wondering if it was just our tier (Darkhaven here) or if it was more widespread. Team chat seemed to be cross server, a few blackgate people were talking with us, and I know at least one person was from HoD.

Finally in ours but there is “blackgate invader” over some people’s heads.

yes I did too my map has 3 wps….Fergusons Blackhill Dragonbrand I think it was?….Im on GoM…we were red this morning….I logged onto a nother toon to help a guildy with pve…log back over to do some WvW and end up on a cliff with my WP contested…cant get in anything owned by red…all the npcs of other colors are…well green and nice to me =X….Im not gettting ran over by a DH rapetrain or sandwiched by them and HoD idk wtf to do=P.

I found some popel from my server some from Fergusons…they are all green to me I cant kill anyone…I try and talk to the people from my server but its like they cant hear or see me lol….its like one of thoses movies where someone dies and they are a ghost and dont know it and keep trying to get everyones attention=P

Maybe it’s ANet’s plan to “fix” tier imbalances. WP, randomly join your NEW home!

Everyone I saw was stuck until they left wvw and reentered later. One person I saw from a different server was walking around rezzing people for both sides (as everyone was friendly) 30 minutes later. Some character names from other servers pulled up as “unknown” as well. All happened around the time of the original post. Me, and nearly unanimously -everyone- I talked to was stuck there until they logged out. Pretty much my entire guild who was in wvw when this happened experienced the same. The weirdest part about it was that it was impossible to die, you were just instantly rezzed when you did.

I think it is the fail redirection. Because the WvW joining has two parts and two loading screen. it seems it didnt make the 2nd one. This had happened to me in beta where the all enemies in the wvw map is friendly to me lol.

Happened to me a month ago as well, though I seemed to drop into a fictional WvW match of three German servers that were in different tiers, lol.
(Never encountered anyone else in the same situation though, and the map kind of looked like my own WvW match. )

Edit: Actually, I was just thinking…
Could this possibly be why queues & map limits seem to be bugged & not equal for some servers?
If it’s possible to get dumped into a different WvW server when the 2nd loading screen fails, maybe there could be some cross-server bug that fills up a queue slot for the wrong server when you enter a queue from an overflow? or something. >_<;

If you’re first placed in a random WvW server for the first loading screen and then transferred to your own WvW in the 2nd loading screen, the first WvW map would have people constantly transferring through it, possibly causing unequal numbers & queues?

Seems like a silly mistake to make though, so it’s probably wrong, lol.

Is this relevant to the incorrect information regarding location on the contact’s list? I’ll be in WvW with a friend and it says he’s on a random server (usually Anvil Rock or Borlis Pass)

That’s weird. DB is the blue server in our current match.

No guesting, transfers, or other chat weirdness here. It seemed to be very widespread with regular wvw players on my server for a very short amount of time, I know I saw at least 20 people I knew in the five minutes I was on the other server (with tier 7 that’s a lot experiencing it at once).

We’re looking into this and any specific information you can provide is helpful.

This just happened to me. I’m on Yak’s Bend and was trying to enter Yak’s Bend (Red) Borderlands. I appeared in the middle of a borderlands where the matchup was Fort Aspenwood, Gate of Madness, and Jade Quarry.

I appeared on the island in the middle of the lake. A few others from Yak’s Bend appeared there with me including another person from my guild. All waypoints on the map were contested and I couldn’t enter any towers or keeps. All players appeared friendly to me. I saw Gate of Madness Defenders and Jade Quarry Defenders, but I don’t know if they could see me. I saw a named player near the entrance to the red keep, but don’t know if that was one of us from Yak’s or if it was a Fort Aspenwood player. The only person who responded to me in map chat was also from Yak’s Bend. The scoreboard was identical to what I’d see when hitting ‘B’ while in Overflow, so no servers or scores where shown.

Relogging and re-entering WvW solved the problem for me and for the other guildmate.

I had previously logged out in Lion’s Arch, most likely in Overflow. I’ve never transferred servers or guested on another server. I had been in a party before I logged out last night, but left the party before logout. The incident happened about a minute after I logged on (was in Lion’s Arch, non-Overflow) and I was not in a party.
