I know that sounds a bit drastic but at the moment WvW is a mess. It seems everyone has a complaint about something, justified or not.

Anet have all but admitted they have lost their way so let’s just scrap WvW for 2 – 3 months? Then, when they have fixed it, bring it back. One of 3 things will happen.

1) People leave, never to return
2) People are so pleased to have WvW back they complain less
3) WvW dies a sad and lonely death

As No.3 seems to be were we are headed at the moment we are not losing anything other than our current frustration.

Anet have tried to please everyone and despite their best efforts seem to have upset the 4 main groups in WvW (PPT’ers, GvG, Defenders and Roamers) one way or another.

Personally I don’t have a complaint, I may not be overjoyed by some of the changes and question the logic in some cases but I will continue to log in to the borderland in the hope some people turn up.

Sometimes it needs hard choices to bring about change.

Just introduce an accidental “bug” where people sometimes find extremely good rewards in the new desert borderland. As people share what they find, the rumor will grow and eventually “gold rush fever” will take hold, and people will want to get in and have a chance to strike it lucky.

Then they can clear it in 3 months by finally fixing the bug, but by then more people will have learned the map and/or gotten used to playing on it.

Well if you’re willing to wait about 3 months there’s supposedly a balance patch coming so that revenants wont go around in groups 1-shotting enemy zergs. There’s no promise that the foretold “balance” patch at the end of Leagues will actually balance anything though. I’ve mostly given up and will be just logging in to obtain my daily reward.

Or just roll out another funny tournament, like “Xmas on EBG” with princesses and snowmen all around fighting a true epic fight together with you!

Pvp is player vs player not map vs player that happens to have other players simply put all you need is a space to pvp and nothing more. If your getting way too fixated on the maps and what they are like then your not realy pvping your simply on a map and trying to play that map that happens to have other ppl to fight. So players make pvp or wvw and to simply say you do not like something so remove it is a crime to all pvp players.

The “I’m going to take all my toys and go home” approach to fixing problems rarely works and is… well… childish. WvW needs work but no sense in killing the entire game mode while they work it out.

But the question becomes are they doing more damage than good to the wvw player population while trying to work it out? Are the other aspects of the game enough to tide people over while we wait for wvw to be “fixed” (whatever that means)?

GW2 WvW has the massive advantage of virtually no decent competition out there right now so in this case something is better than nothing. If WvW went offline for a month or more, a serious amount of hardcore WvW players would not come back after the break as they move onto other options.

WvW is basically existing solely by being the only game in town. If and when that changes, GW2 WvW will be a ghost town. Until then, we play under duress.

Lets have them take it back to the days when WvW loot was almost non-existent and it took the efforts of 3 pve toons just to keep you in siege and repairs

Because the whiners aren’t whining about “fixes” for the major part, their whining because the changes to the Border Land maps, removes the easy Karma Choo-choo loop, and puts in new/unique challenges be it terrain/events/mobs ect. that many of these whiners aren’t willing to adapt to, and instead come to the forums to pound their fists and kick their feet, like a child who didn’t get a new toy at the store.

and then we can whine about whiners for our own reasons, maybe because it makes us feel superior?

As long as the bug comes from a high wxp player kill and not a mob
