A lot more fun fights a lot more 1 v 1. I highly doubt the 5 of us is of any consequence one or another in WvW . War Machine on the other hand may have tipped the balance a bit …

If you really think the kain early NA morning Zerg is going to outclass the DB oceanic/Asian coverage, you’ve got another thing coming.

Server matching should take into account server population variations through-out the day. A good matching algorithm would be good for WvW. Having one server steam-rolled another is only fun for some.

Maguuma has also gotten tons of transfers and from what I’ve heard in forums, they are in the same boat as us with the amount of zergs but more experienced players. Also, our pugs are very new to the upper tiers while our future enemies have been in this tier for awhile so tactics will come into play with the next matchup. Dragonbrand…really scared for their primetime.

Behind the ‘training’ reason posted as to why they chose the lowest tier:

Working your way upwards and steamrolling every tier (and as for other tiers they haven’t touched where the losing servers decides — especially with the announced paid transfers — to move) will ensure guilds transferring to you, thus getting the numbers you need to make it to T1.

I have been in Kaineng for a week while in T7 and transferred to another server to T6 just to see the force of this upcoming server and I believe yes, they should skip T3 (I am in T3 atm), possibly even T2, and head straight to T1.

In which case, if they get to T1, I would love to see how JQ handle Kaineng, or to be more accurate, see RG and WM clash and the resulting videos after (although I hear RG has left JQ not too sure).

That’s comparing apples to oranges. Remember Mag fought a decimated IoJ who is in last place on T5 instead of CD. Most of the board warriors in threads like this have never seen T1/T2 where a lot of guilds on K have. It is impossible to know exactly how high K will go but to anyone who has spent time in T1/T2 it’s fairly obvious T3 would be a speed bump at best.

You know CD is just as dead as IoJ right? I wish FA would be there to meet kaineng in t3… but it looks like we’ll be having our grudge match with the TC roleplayers.

CD is not that dead. IoJ was quite dead, I know this because I’m in YB and fought IoJ last week and fighting CD this week. Anyway since we also fought DB 2 weeks ago and Mag last week then Kaineng this week, my prediction is Kaineng is stronger than Mag. While Mag and DB is having even match this week, it fair to say Kaineng is stronger than DB as well. I have no idea if Kaineng is stronger than FA? Personally like to see which is stronger FA or K. After all the strongest should move up to T2 anyway. K should still go T3 and prove they are the #1 in T3.

though its pretty early to say that BG will be in t2 but it looks apparent since SOR cannibalize the rating of SBI to oblivion. Hope to see you in the battlefield.. Reading the post in this thread makes it interesting since most of us BG don’t want to leave tier 1..

From playing against Kaineng I think they are hoping for a lot. I think they are a 2nd-3rd place server in Tier 3. This is only due to their population and not their skill. We wiped a [WM] zerg more than once with less numbers. That wasn’t while defending a keep/tower either. I don’t believe we have ever had even numbers in WvW with Kaineng since match starts and they only really started beating us badly once our reset night population went away and we are stuck with being outnumbered on most maps most the time. The only true tactics I see Kaineng use is a zerg and using portal bombs in combination with shadow refuge to abuse culling. A tactic that takes no skill just numbers.

In the end it will be Kaineng’s asian Hordes VS. Dragonbrands Asian Hordes. Dragonbrands actually weak after 10am pst till around 3 pm pst. we have bolstered our NA coverage which is why we went down in the ranks.

Maguma has a strong early morning NA team. So if they can strike fast. they might be able to pick up the pieces quickly after all the Off hour players go to bed.

Mostly agree, but I like Maguuma’s chances during NA in this next matchup. I think we’ve shown we’re stronger than DB over that time frame, and I’m predicting that we’ll be able to manage Kain much better than we’ve been able to deal with FA. So… I think that puts us in a pretty good spot.

Plus, with free transfers gone, I’m thinking the folks on our server who were hoping to encourage folks to free transfer out might come back and play. ;-)

Just piping in that JQ has alot of experience fighting and alot respect for [WM]. I’m not alone in saying I look forward to fighting them again, should they return to T1.

While you seem to mean it as an insult of some sort, I take being compared to Mag as quite the compliment – thanks! They’re classy, humble, and while they might not be at the top of T3 right now, they’re most definitely holding their own.

I’m with Dhampyr…always liked Maguuma, I even place the occassional Holy Ram on the Orb Altars in honor of them. So thank-you for the compliment. As far as “where” Kaineng will go…I predict we’ll be in T2 for awhile working on improving our Bandwagoners to “Get them on our level”, when they have, I predict T1 is our eventual home though due to the coverage and the capability(with a real challenge) to have 2+ BLs Queue’d 24/7.(Thus far people only see what our Friday is like…they do not see all the people wanting to WvW but bored in LA and LA Overflow…There are lots.)

Hmmm yes, that’s definitely true but it’s only shade of the truth. If you are portal bombing an enemy, you know they are right there when you come out regardless of whether you can see them and you come out with AoE blazing. If you are on Voip your mesmer is also relaying relevant info as he/she approaches.

The enemy knows a portal is coming if they see the glowing purple circle or realize there’s a lonely mesmer heading there way but has no idea when you came through or how many.

Advantage portal bombers.

I’m sorry, I had to skip half of your well thought out posts on the topic. I can’t read through them … especially those from FA, mag, and kain. Not to mention our prior opponent’s looking for our demise.

Is this a betting thread? I mean it seems full intention on guestimating the demise of Kain at what tier because ‘x’, ‘y’, ‘z’ are the show stoppers.

I thought this is … kain should not skip because of ‘x’, ‘y’, ‘z’. I’ve only seen one response from a fellow kain to that effect, xenth.

Tbh, everyone would rather have the week … we will win and lose. Just like the rest of the servers, is that bad? no… it will be for reasons stated above from xenth when it occurs. Why? because as also noted, we have not … at all … had to do anything shy of a zerg of defense. & control. Most kains I know actually do hope to hit t3, to give another week of battle, to get to know another enemy. What tactics they may use against us, and to learn as a ‘server’ how to manage them.

@ Dhar, based on the rating system, whether or not kain would go up 2 brackets (as has occured in past, thanks to the guy who provided that data point (sry forgot, its on page 1) I’m certain its possible to drop lower all the same. Wants and what occurs are different though. I want to see t3 and the 2 opponents. Ratings may say different.

In the end it’s all fun. I know there are some who like to hiphip horray it, but… they are not = all. Nor am I. Kain should hit t3, now. For 1 more week of battle. Do you go to the superbowl with no practice? Without a loss (and how many times does this happen)?

Yeah but once again we also hav no idea how many we r portal’n into aswell. A guild grp who is on comms and stuff can react if they are good.

But yes big advantage using portals but thats nothing todo with culling. Its because u throw the enemy off. Same with running at a zerg, the enemy zerg is like WTF not use to this(most zergs just do standoffs and range). The epic fights is when its a guild zerg vrs guild zerg both on comms then it comes down to team comp and discipline.

Im quite interested to see what happens. I would not be surprised if they all jumped ship when they start to hit other stacked servers and realise how much work they are actually going to have to put in 24/7 and still have your kitten beat from time to time.

The participants: WM, TL, RUN, RISE, CO, Ph, KOR, Meow, RE, SoS

Although, many controversial issues were brought up, I did not respond to all the issues. However, I was disappointed to learn that some misinformation was being let out about how the meeting unfolded and I am writing this post to fix that.

1. We suggested to guilds to focus on the borderland where they are responsible (assigned) to make Kaineng Server stronger for T1 and T2. Although almost every participating guild agreed, RE and SoS did not. RE later clarified their situation and we have since worked things out.

2. The idea using a certain forum to conduct a campaign that requests help from other guilds who were not in the meeting and PUGs was not concluded because RE strongly wanted to use their webpage for the campaign. We still have not yet found a solution to this problem, but will try to after we have resolved our current dilemma.

3. SoS who were originally in T8 had dissatisfaction with the newcomer WvW guilds including WM. WM moved in Kaineng 6 weeks ago and we have fought all 6 weeks for Kaineng. I don’t understand why we deserve such hostility. We only want to fight for Kaineng, same as everyone else.

Thus, all 8 guilds (TL,RISE,RUN,CO,KOR,Ph,Meow) including WM agreed that it is hard to organize the server and WM and TL including other guilds have decided to take a temporary break from WvW.

We the WvW guilds of Kaineng would appreciate it if certain individuals would stop spreading misinformation about this problem. I really want them to show their ability in WvW and not on a forum. I always love PUGs and guilds of all sizes. We hope we can help our server to prepare for next tiers and we hope we can help Kaineng to be the best server of all. However, if most Kaineng members do not want us, we will consider moving to one of the other servers where we will be welcome.

Contrary to what other angry people are posting (particularly ones who are no longer on Kaineng and deserted us awhile ago but still seem to wish to post in our forums), you’re welcome here on Kaineng, or wherever you choose to be to play the game we all love. I’m glad you chose Kaineng, I’ve learned alot from you guys and the other transfers (as I was here originally), and I appreciate it. If you choose not to play WvW, that’s your right and you shouldn’t feel bad about your choice.

Let the other people rage – play the game as you wish, and don’t ever let anyone else tell you differently (and this goes for anyone else from Kaineng as well).

I implore you to please stay and teach some of the newer WvWers how to properly WvW as the server needs help to respond to swords in a quick efficient manner and learn siege placement. You guys have been a blessing for the server.

In response to negativity, many guilds and players on Kaineng ARE happy to have you here and know that you have tremendously helped Kaineng rise to where we are today. It takes a community to get to where we are and not just one entity. Many pieces need to fall together in order to rise in rankings and the server has stepped up. Not only that, but the fight and spirit of the original die hard Kainengs are here.

Wait till next week when we will have difficulty and that wake up call to the upper tiers coverage/manpower/tactical ability increase as those who experienced upper tiers know. Those spouting hate/negativity at you now will quickly realize how much organization needs to take place in order to stay in that tier. Kaineng has not really faced this so far, but it will next week.

When things go wrong is usually when things actually go right. Stay the course like you did when you guys are in WvW. Many players/guilds have learned much from you and gain much confidence when you guys are on – we know that you have that map on lock down and can assist another borderland. Watch next week how everyone will be on the same page if we are losing/do not win the tier.

I will speak on behalf of casual wvwers.

1) Map assignments
I am from Dii and we had fought beside you guys since SBI days. We are a PvE guild that also enjoy wvw casually. Some might call us pugs.

It will be hard for our guild to commit to one map. Firstly we play casually and cannot promise to field manpower on certain dates. Some nights we play a lot of wvw, some nights we go pve. Secondly we try to go to a map that needs help the most. I believe we should be free to help out which ever map that needs help. Lastly when there are queues, we would go to which ever map that has space left.

Since right now we aren’t in a playoff/championship situation, I don’t think we need to get that organized just yet. We can worry about server assignments and hand picking team members for maps later, when the playoff/championship does come.

What forum we use doesn’t sound like a huge issue. I don’t think Kaineng has an official forum yet. There is one (www.kainengcenter.com) that is trying to get started. Maybe used that one.

There are advantage in that too. The “pugs” and casuals in Kaineng would get a chance to prove themselves. However it will be great if some people from WM and other former T1 guilds can come help out and give people some pointers. I mean we are former T1 too (sort of) but more the merrier. ^^

We respect all guilds in Kaineng and thats including WM. WM has brought a lot to this server and im very grateful of them. I don’t know what really happened but WM shouldn’t take it out on the entire server because of some sort of miscommunication between 2 or more individuals. We need to work as a team to become successful and rise to the tops. Well, if we cant do that, we could might else pack our bags and leave. Hope it never comes to that over something very small. We need to forget what happened in the past… shake hands and move on for the sake of Kaineng and start planning new tactics for the next coming reset. Kain has the potential to grow and become a very strong server. And everyone knows that. Anyway, all the best to everyone. Don’t forget, at the end of the day it’s just a game. Peace

Kaineng is a toddler with tommy gun. At least that is how a lot of tiers that spent weeks getting badge farmed feel. You cannot even keep your crap together when you are winning. I think the server will eventually mellow and clearly there is talent on it, but to start spouting about spirit is a little early.

Can’t argue with most of your post here – as a server, Kaineng has a bunch of growing to do. The only part I take issue with is your assessment that I’m “spouting about spirit” early. Quite to the contrary – Kaineng may not understand the intricacies of advanced WvW tactics, we may still be ironing out communication issues, etc… The one place I think I can speak with considerable authority is exactly where I “spout” about the spirit of my server. I take pride in the fact that I’m not a transfer. I don’t look down on the people who moved here, but I understand what my server went through when we were the doormat of WvW in T8.

That spirit isn’t dead. It isn’t gone. It’s still there, stronger than ever, and [WM], [CO], [RISE], [RE], and all of the other transfers are a part of it now, too. Do we have a long way to go? Sure. Is there a chance we may completely fragment and fall apart? Absolutely, can’t argue with that either. When it comes to spirit, though… I know EXACTLY where I’m coming from.

The squishy pugs of Kaineng need all the experience they can get before their server heads on to higher tiers. Not to mention the huge contrast of fighting t4 servers to t2/t1-worthy servers might give them a bit of a shock.

This is a valid argument, and I would have to agree that pugs need as much training as they can possibly get to prepare for the upper tiers. On another note, guilds and not pugs have been the engine of kain’s rise. We need to see whether some of these guilds are ready to once again play in tiers they were in before.

I started out posting in this thread in a light hearted manner, joking somewhat about the idea of skipping to T2. I wanted too lighten the mood. Anyway, skipping the tier is no longer going to happen, and for me personally I’m quite happy to play against DB and Mag next week. The ratings will now be reset and I’m a bit confused as to the intent there, but whatever, we’ll see where it goes.

After reading Jung’s post, I have to say I can understand some of the issues that seem to be arising here. I’m not sure this forum was the correct place for his post, but then again it’s the forum with the widest Kaineng audience at the moment. Of course to the nay sayers from other servers, I have to tell you the majority of Kaineng do not really care about your opinions or constant predictions of doom. Many of us have always said, although we’d love to reach T1 to see what it’s like, it’s not life and death. This is a game we play for fun. I work long hours during the week so enjoy my mostly weekend WvW fun. But I’m not a member of any army, I am simply playing a game to have fun.

Regarding WM, I welcome them, and see them as a strong asset. But WM, I have to say, speaking for myself, you are one arrow in the quiver. You’re a strong arrow, that’s for certain and you take the game to a higher level, one that is difficult for most regular Guilds to achieve. Regardless you must understand that despite your achievements and great organization, the idea that any server should completely hand over the reins to you and you alone is a somewhat unrealistic. Perhaps your quest is to remake WvW in your own image? Again, I don’t think that’s realistic either. You certainly have a great influence, no doubt, but will always fall short of any goal to remake WvW solely in the WM image.

I believe the majority here welcome you, but we also expect that you will work with all the other Guilds here, small and large, including SoS. I hope any issues are resolved soon, however, if you leave Kaineng simply because you were unable to get every guild to follow you in lock step, you will have the same problem wherever you go. Sure most of us want to go to T2/T1, but we can only achieve this with all working together, with give and take and some compromise. If we don’t make it, it’s definitely not the end of the world. I’ll still play WvW, and I’ll still play on Kaineng.

Anyway, that’s only my opinion…one of many. For my part I think WM should resolve any issue they are having, within the bounds of working together and making compromise where necessary, and get back to the game ASAP!

Maguuma has also gotten tons of transfers and from what I’ve heard in forums, they are in the same boat as us with the amount of zergs but more experienced players.

Mag successfully dropped a lot of it’s dead weight. Much closer to old Maguuma atm, with a couple new additions that are worth keeping.

They would actually set BG back. I fought against Kaineng and WM on a low tier server and for the few hours a night my guild would bring out 15 people + the 10 – 15 others that tagged along, we would steam roll them. They were pretty much relegated to their keeps with all the siege equipment. I’m now on JQ and fighting against BG and my god those guys are on a whole other level !

I personally want FA to come play with us again. I don’t want Kaineng’s moral to get slapped in the face once they truly do get to play against higher Tier opponents. Trust me, it’s not really about how well you’re doing. That has nothing to do with how you will perform against enemies with crazier strategies and more organized assaults. When TC was dominating T3, we knew we’d have a hard time in T2, we knew it’d be a slap in the face, and it was. But over the course time we got the hang of it.
