Keep/Tower Defense Strategy Question...
I don’t think there’s collision detection for players, so you can’t just build a human wall. However, anyone trying to run through a zerg to get to the other side would probably end up dying from just random damage being tossed about.
The problem with this tactic is 1) enemy ballistas would make mincemeat out of the defenders 2) enemy catapults would scatter the defenders, and, 3) ranged can be more effective staying on roofs/walls to rain damage down but be out of reach.
Occasionally you can see a wild melee happening after a keep’s outer wall had been breached if the defenders and attackers are about equal in number. However, most of the time the fight is decided by siege weapons, or overwhelming numbers from either side.

Oriscalamitas [TFH] – 80 Engineer
The only way this could work would be if there is collision detection. It’s just weird that I never noticed it that is in the game.
3 – 4 guardians (theoretically) can block your enemy for entering the keep (with staff (long) and shield, wall of reflection, sanctuary, spirit shield). But I never seen it in practice as it needs communication.
