Keep Waypoints
Thats the very first thing I thought when entering BL after patch.
Just to understand the logic:
- each keep has waypoint that is automatically activated once server captures the keep
- but in each keep only one of 3 servers can actually use the waypoint
- other 2 servers can capture the keep but they will never get access to the waypoint
- the waypoint you CAN use is closest to the point you enter the map making it mostly useless
Why? Why you need system so confusing and complicated?
Why not instead use something clear and simple:
- every keep gets waypoint once it reaches tier 3
Anet want to break the 1 colored BL and force us to play on the 3 BL. Then each team should control 1 keep on each BL. It’s time to regroup inside 1 community guild to be able to speak accross map….
Unfotunetly this won’t work coz the WvW community has never played the game the way Anet wants us to, so forthem to expect us to suddenly play itl ike that is a little naive.

We need the normal T3 waypoints back.
these are not waypoints these are way pointless
make them reset and be built when the keep is t3
yep, WP at T3, and bring back the old upgrade system, just without cost… And it will be fine…
Who’s in charge of these WvW patches? Whoever it seems to be full of terrible ideas. I regret purchasing Heart of Thorns if I knew how downhill this game is going.

I just imagine a dev, siting on his desk, reading this. He turns around to the rest of the dev team “They wanted the waypoints back in the keeps… Why are they still complaining? They never complained about the Eotm waypointsystem, and that map is so popular… We did such a good job with Eotm, and now they complain? I don’t understand those players. WHAT do they want??” Rest of the team looks helpless. Shrugs.

I would like to know it too. Right now i would think they hired flasbang for the WvW updates.
They are just getting ready to cut down the number of maps. Lots of people are complaining about wvw population and to many maps. So they are trying to turn the bls into an EB style map then they wont need 3 of them. So we can have one EB and one desert borderland map. Population problem fixed!
At least until they had to remove more maps because of low turn out…

that would make sense if a structure was in the middle of the map instead of jurassic park
They’re killing the WvW Community & they don’t realize it.
The adjustments they’re doing runs counter to creating a nurturing environment for small…and now large guilds in my opinion.
Forcing the WvW players to play the map how the developers believe it should be played…will have a huge backlash…coming from my gut feelings.
The developers it seems don’t have a solid WvW Vision that should drive a detailed plan on how the WvW Universe runs under.
If ANet is looking for one…they can search the forum for one…many…many…ideas are posted here. I’ve got one posted myself as Reboot the Base Map Mechanic & Population.
Seriously…they’re trampling all over the WvW Communities.
Sorry, I’m a little bit disgusted with this…if it’s their attempt to force WvW players back into their BL to defend it against these Enemy Only Controlled WPs…they’re designing things using negative reinforcement…without considering how to create a nurturing BL.
Actually…this Enemy Only WP for East & West Keeps in Home BL…encourages more KTrain…which is a bread & butter setup of EotM to encourage the constant feeding frenzy cycles…imho.
You’re gonna burn out the Human WvW Commanders on low population servers…that help to build & sustain WvW Communities…and when you do…will you Code Siegerazer to lead the charge at the same time in all Borderlands. Three Zerg Armies will run….and never need to fight each other…take the fun & glory away from human players…and have game autorun…is this your Vision of WvW?
You’re beating the fun out of why I play WvW…and you’re making me follow things mindlessly to play WvW.
Ok…rant over…game on, or less, or more pve to pass time that was enjoyed in WvW before.
Still a fan of WvW…but really struggling…

I honestly feel that they are just kittening with us at this point.

What your asking for is a lot of time and work for something that is down right mandatory to have to make the keeps worth any thing. Major objectives should be strong staging points to attk and def from not just places that happen to have walls.
What it makes taking a keep or simply flipping is more then just a simple krama train move its a full on upgrade on the movement of your team on that map. This makes the home bl harder to have a perm def and all the more important to def the 2 other keeps.
This is kind of what is needed for a lot of objective more use then just simple walls. In a lot of games objectives simply buff your side but that not realy what wvw is about (that and snow ball effect tend to happen badly). What we have in GW2 is wp that let you move fast if needed. Now camps and towers need some means of movement or map presser to make them worth getting and holding. (Off the top of my head camp/tower path giving faster ms out of combat when you hold the “linking path.” Maybe waves of npc that attk keeps and towers when you hold a tower.)

Not quite sure whether you are for or against T3 waypoints, but yes thats sort of the point. Its hard work to fortify a location and once you get that waypoint, you have far better reactive defenses because no matter the tier, the enemy always have the initiative when attacking.
T0 waypoints only accessible to the enemy turn that on its head. Now a home border cannot defend its side keeps and the enemy has the advantage. In your freakin home border!. There is nothing you can do about it. Cap it, you dont get the wp, you only delay them until they cap it again.
Yes, it was possible for the enemy to get a T3 waypoint before, but at least then you could admit defeat. You failed to stop the long upgrade, try again.
At this point I can only assume it’s their PvE developer team that’s managing the WvW changes in lieu of an actual, dedicated WvW team.
