I did but I averaged 3 viewers the last month so I don’t do it much now.
Sort of boring to sit there for hours exposing yourself and reducing your game upload speed just to have people not find you because the only thing twitch advertises are the people making them money. Lots of times people don’t talk when they join but just watch, gets a little creepy when you are talking and they don’t.
Then they have the nerve to roll random ads on your channel because they oversold the people that make money from them, oh but when they run an ad on your channel you don’t get paid like others. They openly said it on their forum, if they oversold you never know when an ad will hit your channel. So you could be doing anything crucial and BAM – AD. Answering a question BAM – AD. Saying you are going AFK BAM – AD. House on fire BAM – AD.
I had anywhere from 15-60 viewers but once they took out paging – someone has to click “more” about 75 times to find my channel, so they don’t and my viewers have went down to mostly people that had me on follow coming in an out to chat some but at least 4 of them don’t even like mmos, we just had similar personalities.
The guy that bangs his head on a keyboard until it bleeds and makes fun of women gets partnered and 2k+ views though. That’s grand. They say too that partners aren’t supposed to use copyrighted music. Go look, 80% of their largest viewer counts are just ppl playing to copyrighted popular music or dubstep and they don’t say anything, not about their gameplay or tactics.
You might check own3d, been thinking it seems to be more low viewer friendly.
I used to broadcast on Xfire too, they don’t usually have many live things but you could check.

Are there any good posts on optimising GW2 for streaming our recording? I just began trying it fraps in PVE and it’s struggling. I have a high spec machine and Nvidia GTX 680 so it feels like I should be able to optimise it more.
Am streaming on own3d each evening (or so), check sign!
I play most nights and stream on and off. I’ll stream tonight if you want.

If you find such a post please let me know. I built a rig the week before release to be able to stream, and haven’t had much luck with capture quality. I use the paid version of Xsplit and I can’t get a quality better than about 540p. I think most of my problem is I have an older monitor that is a weird resolution (1440×900), but I think I should still be able to record at a quality at least as good as the monitor I’m using, right?
