Love how everyone always toots their horn as if individual skill plays a huge factor in WvW. I run around solo and it does not matter what server or what guild your in a vast majority of players are just average. It’s a MMO. You honestly think every single one of you can be the undisputed champion of the world? Get real, WvW are won from populations not skill. I am from Dragonbrand and even I know this.

I’m not quite sure who this is directed at, but I definitely agree. There’s only so much impact one individual can have in a game that involves hundreds switching in and out at random times. Commanders exist for the very point of trying to make groups of people make a difference, not individuals.

Lol personal skill plays alot into WvW. It is very easy for a skilled gank group to roll a zerg. Exalted Order has done it numerous times. The real threat to DB will be when we are pitched against a server that has a organized zerg.
P.S. ExOr hasn’t encountered a gg we can’t rofl stomp yet. But I do agree with the Daoc comment, would love to see it implemented.

Note that you used group in your statement. My point is that one player being extremely good will matter very little in the grand scheme of things without others to back them up. Which should be common sense by this point, really.

Love how you folks get your feelings all hurt when I mentioned skill. Your own players started the smack in this very thread, so talk to them if you don’t like it. Now, from my experience the last week or so, you guys aren’t anything special in small groups. My opinion is aimed squarely at your daytime/primetime US players. Your night crew have some serious individual skills. No excuse needs to be made about our population or yours. DB followed a plan and is victorious. Be proud, but be realistic. TC/MAG both have some skilled players and small teams. Our problem is a lack of organization – not skill.

You can describe lack of organization as a symptom of poor skills, especially in the context of WvW. I think what he was stressing is that it doesn’t matter how well you can play your class or string your skills, if you spend your time running off by yourself trying to gain personal glory then you are not contributing to the group effort as much as you could.

Whereas a “skilled” WvW player would spend more time doing things like organizing small teams, calling out enemy movements, rezzing allies and trying to frustrate enemy supply and siege. Killing people is entirely secondary to the objectives in WvW.

On a side note, I play from TC, and even during the day we typically have light numbers compared to Dragonbrand. Maybe it is just an issue with optimism / dedication. But those who are online when I play couldn’t give a kitten less about DB owning 90% of the map, because we are too busy trying to find out how to steal it back one slice at a time. The complaints stems from uneven numbers, not uneven points / position.

Any WvW guilds out there want another meatsack? Looking to add some more organized PvP to my life.

Exactly my point. TC has small teams that have WvW skill, but we just don’t have overall organization. Generalizing that we don’t have individual skill or team skill because we are losing the big fight is pretty stupid. My guild runs small groups and westrike targets of opportunity – other groups, supply camps, and yes we join the zerg when needed. Our problem is we need commanders.

P.S. We also don’t xfer off our server to join the winning team. This is our home for better or worse.

I wonder if Maguuma understands why the server lost by so much….

Yes, night capping is the main reason, but it’s also because the server died when Kripparrian and Krippi decided to go back to WoW Pandaland at the beginning of the week. This alone took away most of the night presence and any decent players on the server because 2 guilds pretty much died on Monday.

Kripp and Krippi’s guilds had over 400 members EACH – 200+ active players at night, usually at least 50+ players in WvW. Oh yeah, and Goon Squad is terrible and so are the other randoms on the server.

Dragonbrand is also the home server of most Taiwanese players. Taiwan’s primetime is NA’s AM hours. This is the reason why DB dominated the night shift.

It’s a legit tactic, and quite a good one at that because you are both limiting the amount of siege blueprints the enemy has and getting quite a nice influx of badges from the PK’ing.

If the JP is being camped… get a force together and take it back.

As far as I am concerned the JP is as important an objective as any keep or tower.

Time to man the kitten up, fellas.
