with the upcoming leauge being 3 tiers instead of 2, 3 servers decided to fight for the last spot in gold tier.

I would like to hear everyone,especially current and past opponents, opinion on who they think can PPT their way to Gold League between SoS, Mag, and SBI.

Maguuma has one of the strongest NA of all of them but their off hour coverage has always been a weakness for moving up.

SoS and SBI both have T1 experience and some better Oceanic coverage than servers at their ranks.

SBI is pretty much the wildcard here, no one know how they will perform once they get a match against against the top 9, that is the real test. They will need to fight higher ranked servers to gain the rating they need to take the #6 spot.

Right now, I predict SoS.

76k is nothing. When we win, we beat the other teams by over 100k.
For the numbers you have, you had a massive amount of uplevels, and unskilled players.

On Mag we get on you if you’re in the wrong gear, not performing a specific roll, and being rally bait. You guys don’t seem to care about anything but running in 1 blob. The only reason you won against us was that we don’t have oceanics still. That’s it. That is all of the 76k points you made in that time of day. You certainly didn’t own anything in NA prime.

We want that Gold tier, and are pushing toward it with that same passion that we had on Mag back in day 1 WvW. We have over 50% more presence on the maps than we normally did. It feels good knowing people are making a real effort now, right when I was at the point of giving up defending altogether for the fights between the points as a focus instead. We’re at 440 PPT at the tip of Oceanic primetime. Now, I’m not saying we can do that vs t2 servers or anything, but vs SoS, yes. You getting 2 more NA guilds doesn’t really mean much to us. We haven’t been losing to triple queues yet, and we have both teams attacking us on every map. They can’t keep up. They can waste time getting 3 stacks of bloodlust, and still die with that buff on.

We cannot be beaten.

lol… let’s stop fighting for it Mag/SoS before SBI comes in takes it. It all depends on the luck anyways over next 2 weeks. If Mag/SoS rolls BP/CD/EB and beats them by 100k they won’t gain rating. Roll TC/FA and do good you will get position 6.

We’re not getting stuck in boring matchups, if we get our kitten pushed in every week in gold so be it, at least we will not have 3 waypoints in a ghost-town of an enemy borderland which is what we had today in Dragonbrand’s BL. We’re going to gold trust and believe it. No fights at all, NNK show up last night in DBBL, got wiped a couple times by VR, failed at taking our West keep and kittened off the rest of the night. IMAGINE THAT HA! OCEANICS NOT BEING ABLE TO CRACK OUR WEST KEEP.. DOES THAT SOUND FAMILIAR? I hate to say this at risk of being shunned by my server mates by mentioning NNK and SKILL in the same sentence but they (NNK) are more skilled than anything I saw from SoS

Go SBI, sneak up and take the 6th spot.

SBI has a pretty large NA but their off-peak is miniscule compared to the T1 servers and TC/FA. So 6th spot will most likely end up with SoS due to the coverage advantage they have over SBI. Maguuma really stands no chance at this point in the gold league but they’ll get to battle it out against SBI.

Maguuma people – you need to move on from your loss to SoS two weeks ago.

And to the OP – I actually predict SBI but it all depends on ratings and who each of us match up with. Although I think whoever looks like they will be top of Silver league (be it Mags SoS or SBI) will get an influx of people just before start of league.

You’ll still get better by doing PvE for a couple of hours. Loot is not what people should be looking at.

The battle for the 6th spot may unfortunately end up a lot more interesting than what comes after in league play, both for the server that ‘wins’ the spot, and likewise even those couple that fail and get to sleepmode silver tier.

If SBI gets 6th it will be a complete snore.

SoS is going to do it because every fight won is going to mean a lot more for us than it will the others.

Maguuma likewise, seems interested in testing themselves and finding new ways how to explain how they “really won” the match.

right now if sos got gold at are best we come in 4th no one will have numbers to fight the big 3 now that EVEN MORE people will be stacking them for meta loot betting blackgate even becomes full before oct 18.

SBI can definitely beat SoS without any problem, the only question is if 2 weeks is enough to close the rating gap. It will all come up to lolRNG match ups.

I think the last matchup will be a classic, 1 vs 2 vs 3 4 vs 5 vs 6 7 vs 8 vs 9 10 vs 11 vs 12 etc etc.

There are too many variables. The good part is that neither SoS, Mag or SBI consider tanking as remotely acceptable. But there’s the RNG….

Say one of these 3 draw poor DB and one r13 twice. Leeching 200k points (I’m exagerating) then the other 2 servers draw JQ and SoR and lose points in the process.

The ideal scenario (and I guess all 3 servers would like it) would be to have all 3 in the same matchup for 2 weeks. I’m not sure SBI would win – but boy it would be fun to be there !

Since we cannot control this, all we will do here on SBI is fight the best we can and see what happens. Guess the same applies to the other 2.

With all the bandwagons going to SBI, they can enjoy the bottom of gold.

Hmmm. Perhaps just arranging this matchup, then? I think it would be a fantastic move on their (Anet’s) part, since we have a lot of people who want to see how this matchup would end up. I think it would be very competitive, something that WvW on the whole is sorely lacking, and it also plays into the whole idea of “server pride” that Anet keeps trying so hard to push.

Also consider that it would be for the last spot in gold league, meaning that the winning server would face an extreme uphill battle at the beginning of the season, and they are actually competing over it.

Server pride is one server bragging because they are able to pull in the most uncontested PPT due to coverage.

I’m hoping for SBI, just because of all the bandwagon jumpers that went there hoping to be top of 2nd League before 3 Leagues were announced.

Fully agreed, but I’m just trying to come up with reasons I think it would be a good idea from Anet’s perspective. With the forum trash talk and the uncertainty, this would be one of the very few matchups I would actually follow that I wasn’t involved in.

Mags have some superb forum warriors and truly deserve a spot in the gold forums league. Mags and SBI have always played well and I would like a match between us for the 6th spot.

The fact of the matter is : SoS currently holds the 6th spot and any increase in our rating makes the chase more difficult for Mags and SBI.

IMHO, RNG matchups will have a lot to more to do with the finishing order than forum guffle.
