Hi,
Id like to know why there is no legendary back pack for wvw players available with wvw currencies.
Pvp and Pve both have access to these, but those of us who actually only play wvw cant access one without trying our hand at one of the other gametypes. For those of us who have tried the other game types and dont like them, we are stuck with buying expensive ascended options, and ending up with several in our inventories along with our several sets of armour and trinkets. This does not seem fair

Quick everyone go to the pve forums and make a dozen threads claiming we will sabotage their game mode until we get our way!

I can’t speak for ANet, but if I had to guess they probably will eventually add one. They can’t really add one right now because WvW is in the middle of significant reworks and it could just complicate things while trying to make the mode more self sustaining. Also, the legendary backs are a good incentive to bring people into/back into WvW, so it stands to reason that they might wanna save this kind of release for later during one of the WvW dry spells.

@Jim Hunter – Its different to take away an option that already existed than it is to introduce a new option entirely and change how it works for the new option. Introducing a new, WvW backpack that required a time intensive PvE component would be a stupid decision. But its entirely different from say introducing a WvW legendary backpack that required a small amount of PvE time and then out of nowhere removing that option and replacing it with a requirement that takes a lot more PvE playing time. That is what happened with the gift of battle, its entirely different scenario.

That said WvW does need its own legendary backpack. At this point the other two game modes have one it just doesn’t make sense for WvW to not have one as well

Please leave the gift of battle rage out of this. Is is an entirely different issue with hundreds of posts to its name already.

Wvw does need a legendary back piece in the name of fairness. The buff in rewards has been great and they did give us SOME wvw exclusive gear, but it isn’t nearly as shiny.

this could go reward track route as a possibility

Backpiece Reward Track 1 rewards a rare BP and unlocks BPRT2.
BPRT2 rewards an exotic BP and unlocks BPRT3.
BPRT3 rewards an ascended BP and unlocks BPRT4.
BPRT4 rewards legendary skin and unlocks BPRT5.
BPRT5 rewards legendary stats BP and unlocks BPRT6.
BPRT6 and more could unlock additional skins.

the number of tracks required would try to mirror, time wise, how long it takes to get the pvp / fractal versions….

the basic idea is they could use their existing systems (reward track) to do this, but thought must be given to how many tracks are required to do it….

OMG lol I second this! and instead of making it a glider, make it a finisher to use, maybe like the golem beatdown finisher.

As for the legendary back piece, all in due time I suppose. The fractal and spvp were basically just introduced with the expansion, and well we know the story of how much work had been going into wvw before that. The wvw team is now playing catchup adding stuff that’s long overdue, going to have to give them some time for the “fluff” stuff.

i want a legendary weapon earned exclusively through tasks in wvw. i don’t care how long it takes or what kind of nonsensical ‘crafting’ they want to gate it behind, as long as it’s earned only by things done in wvw.

Well we can’t have 2 similar named things, most WvW stuff has " Hero" in its name, so…..

Well, since we have Hero weapons for wvw already, and Mistforged Hero weapons is the upgrade, I suppose we could have the precursor be a Hero Eulogy Tombstone, and the legendary be the Mistforged Hero Eulogy Tombstone.

I realy want a backpack what shows my rank. We already have items what show guilds, so i think it cant be a big deal. Maybe a cap! Bronze, silver, gold etc color with stripes

it seems to me that rank in wvw means really nothing …. but perhaps i am wrong ( the same is for spvp … ) but wvw rank means less then spvp one , in any case it means only the time you play … not your skill level. In pvp the division is something that “can” show your skill level but in wvw there is nothing similar becouse it is a unending big numbers fight
