Condi overall still sucks in WVW beyond roaming and really small scale stuff. I think the only exception to this is chill based reaper.
I can confirm this for you as I was messing around with condi in big fights yesterday (sunday) all day long and experienced what you are experiencing. There are several fundimental but seperate issues playing condi from what I noticed, it is a combination of balance issues and bugs which leads to what you experience, I will try to list the stuff I saw yesterday here, in no particular order:
1. Outright bugged – many times you do quite a lot of damage to an opponent which gets killed, you do not get XP / WXP or loot or anything if all you do to the opponent is condi damage. You have to do a combination of condi and power based damage in order for the kill to count.
2. Bugged – “Taunt” condition causes all your opponents to turn momentarily neutral when you get taunted (everyone becomes like the yellow neutral mobs, like boars, deer, etc.) this may or may not be related to issue #1 as it may reset what or whom you may have landed damage or conditions on.
3. Too much AOE cleansing to the point where I think its bugged, again, I think the damage registered becomes somehow reset, perhaps the servers can’t keep up, and if your opponent dies before re-applying your own damage again you get nothing, no kill credit.
4. Extra bugged in laggy situations – Condi damage simply doesn’t register at all if the server lags a lot. At those times when skill lag hits everyone as a condi player you are at additional disadvantage because then it becomes extra lagged. Also, in laggy situations where combat is slowed down, issue #3 really comes to light, as there is additional time for the extra cleanses to go off completely and totally negating condi damage and thus of course not registering kills.
Overall playing condi vs power builds in large scale is fairly inadvisable, if I had to sum it up, it felt kinda like playing a power build but against opponents that would receive Aegis at least once every second, many times more then once per second.
The bugs definetly need to be fixed, but some of them can not be fixed until balance is addressed, in this case, less AOE cleanses. On a personal note I always felt there is too much AOE and passive cleansing and not enough personal, active cleansing in the game. Switching this up would solve or help with a lot of the other bugs and issues.
Not sure why you guys are having this problem cuz on my venom share thief i just sit back and watch the bags roll in.

Scum bag condi builds don’t deserve anything lol.
Good. Play a real build. :P

That is probably because you’re also getting support credit; if you’re taking leeching venom with venomous aura a lot of healing is being credited to you.
for there you have been and there you will long to return.

You get credit for other peoples damage and any support to them as mentioned. We’re experiencing it on any of the direct condi builds. I bet if you stop using venom share and experiment with short bow, staff or anything else, you will get the same, but as a thief in a larger group encounter, I would definetly not give up my venom share, so I won’t hold it against you if you don’t do it.
