I being to see a issue with this coming up in wvw and would like to adress it. Whilst leveling in wvw you get a lot of Tomes of knowledge, you actaully get so many that you pretty much can blow your nose in them at this point.

No complains really if it was not for the fact that new players, and players leveling alts but have no clue how wvw is working are now being pointed towards wvw to farm them. This is a issue. Because suddenly wvw is full of low level players which yes have fluffed up stats, but they are no were near useful, since they don’t have the traitlines, all the heropoints, no possiblity of making builds that are making them competative enough to actually be a source for your server. At points there ar so many of them in wvw that we actaully get outnumbered even though we are not, because this players have no clue how to fight, and even if they did, they are not ready for it.

I would like to suggest that A-Net slightly adjust the gain of tomes of knowledge inside of world and raises the gain of tome of knowledge in EotM. EotM have always been a place were players go and level in a fast pace so it would be better to have a somewhat higher drop rate of tomes of knowledge there, and a little bit lower dropping in wvw (maybe replace with a few more transmutation charges like in pvp but in the wvw instead.
This way wvw will not be swormed with players not really interested in wvw and are only there for the tomes of knowledge, because they will be in EotM which really suits the purpose better.
Note that i do not ask to remove them, but to lower the drop rate inside of wvw, and raise it at EotM.

What you’re looking at as basically useless cannon fodder, you should be looking at as potential students. The last thing you want is for people to have EotM be their basic training for WvW. Then all they’re good for is running karma trains. And when that isn’t viable, they’ll end up getting farmed, pushed back into your spawn, and then leaving WvW. You want them coming up in the trenches, facing challenges and overcoming them. Learning the intricacies and strategies of the maps. That’s what makes them valuable players. Not just being a warm body with a working finger to spam 1.

There is zero need to make any changes to tomes.

EotM is already that so i don’t create anythign that is not already there.

I do also agree on your point that this could be new wvw players, and that is not what my complaint is about. My complaint and wish for change is that players that just bought the game and right now are focusing on learning how to open up their back pack, how to walk and how their skills are working and are asking on the forum of the fastest way to level, get redirected from this forum and from reddit to wvw because that is the best way to level fast. This will create a lot of tension, because this players are nowere near the point of joining wvw.

This players are not interested in wvw they are interested in leveling fast, and if we get hordes of them, they screw up wvw because they do not carry their role in any sort of way. I mean how can you if you don’t even know the base of the game.

EotM already have playes leveling and they have trais and hordes of players leveling, so adding them there were they will have no effect on the score, the fights and so on, will avoid the toxic that comes out of having wvw full of players not willing to join fights, just hang around and get tomes of knowledge because wvw give it more then any other game mode.

So easy to change so that EotM get more tomes, WvW get a bit less ( i don’t even see why i should get like 15 of them for 2-3 hours of fighting, i mean that is ridiculous)
This way we will also avoid the toxic chat around this in wvw which if anything scares off new players that never dare to come back, and also burn out old players that are trying their best to win fights but can’t manage because right now they have to many lvl 10 players who are more concerned about leveling fast enough then to actaully learn how to wvw.

Some people use their tomes of knowledge for helping people’s guild halls, other people use them for the spirit shards they give. Maybe anet can make a thing where you can trade/turn in tomes of knowledge in for something else?

“Twice Told Legend”, I’m currently 80 Spirit Shards into the minimum 400 needed for dual Quips after YEARS of waiting for this acheivement. It isn’t just benefitting new people, though it is helping tremendously with a resurgence, leave the tomes (and the dungeon tokens and all other rewards) alone please Anet, atleast for the remainder of the beta
