Leveling in WvWvW
I have leveled my guardian 99% in wvw, starting from lvl 2 right after the tutorial to lvl 80. (the other 1% was lions arch basically… not even all waypoints yet :P)
So yes you can quite easily level up in WvW, even from 65-80

Crafting, crafting! haha, if you haven’t completed cooking you should lvl really fast this way otherwise I suggest both, so you just don’t focus only in lvling + you kinda enjoy the game more :P

What they said about crafting, it’s the fastest if you’ve got some money. You can get a decent amount of XP from WvW running with a successful group/zerg but if you try to go solo, you’d be better off doing DE’s in early Orr.

I went from 30 to 80 on my warrior in a small handful of weeks, it was pretty quick!

Levelling in WvW can be either the absolute slowest way to level, or the best.
If you are in a successful zerg (was mentioned), capping tower after keep after tower, you will level pretty darn fast. I am pretty sure though that some level ranges scale better than others.
If you are in any other situation, levelling by other means will be quicker.

NEVER FORGET
I got 10 levels on my thief yesterday in WvW. WvW leveling is much faster then PvE if you know how to do it.
LV65>80 craff item LV300>400 can make you easy life.
But if u need something risk your pocket money then go WWW.
If you’re going to be WvWing anyway, might as well get some levels out of it.
Make the last 10 levels with cooking. Costs you 1g-1.5g and roughly 2000 karma. It’s like they’re giving you those 10 levels on a silver plate.
And why do I have to think of Oprah? “You get a level! You get a level!….”

Leveling is a great way to learn the in’s and out’s of WvW. Take this time to log into your borderlands, see what’s going on, learn the ropes. By the time you get it all figured out, you’ll be almost to 80 anyway.
If you already understand the workings of WvW, it’s still a great way to level. Log in, check the map, see if you’ve got a zerg or even a small group taking camps, and jump in. If your server is just defending, you’re better off doing something else to level up.
When are people going to figure out there’s a war going on?
I leveled my ranger almost 100% wvw but that was on HoD in the glory days. I leveled my mesmer almost 100% PVE and it was a lot slower because I leveled her alone and not with friends. Also, when I had leveled my ranger I had enough karma from wvw to buy all my exotics. (I actually screwed up and bought all yellows first… then saw the dungeon karma vendors. I had assumed I could only get the dungeon karma gear from running dungeons. Anyway, I STILL had enough karma to get my full exotics) Then on my mesmer when I dinged 80 I was like, “Uh oh.. no karma” so crafted my gear from matts mostly earned on my ranger.
I did 2-37 in wvw in 1 week, 37-67 in 2 hours doing artificing/cooking/jewelcrafting and now my guardian is 73 or 74 after 8 hours of wvw gameplay.

I want to take my 38 Guardian into WvWvW, is that a good decision? I’m mainly asking because of the gear difference and that I’ll more than likely get destroyed by proper 80s. Not that I don’t get destroyed enough in WvW because… well, because I suck at PvP lol.

Until I did the crafting to hit the upper 60’s and 70 I mostly played in guild groups and following a commander or two I personally think do not suck and it was fine, but if you roam much on your under leveled toon then yes you will get crushed fairly often. I also found that low lvl wvw was easier on guardian than my thief even with stealth… You should be ok mr bend .

I went in at 30 ish as a warrior and did fine. As long as you stick with commanders and try to be helpful, you should be fine. Heck, as a guardian you should be better off than I was!
