Line of sight in keep defenses
The reason is that due to game physics embrasures will not give any advantage to defenders. Irl embrasures are advantage becuse defenders are point-blank to it while attackers are at distance. In Gw2 it would be equally easy to target anything inside keep as it is to target outside through embrasures. There’s no distance advantage for defenders.
One way walls like guardian stuff. Stuff goes out but doesn’t come in.
I’d rather they got rid of the downward vertical range penalty, but kept the upward one. As is if you fire a shot from the top of a tower, you’ll notice a lot of your range is eaten up reaching the floor. I suggest that from the tower you can fire as far horizontally as you would at ground level and still hit.

Sure that’d do. Globe of invulnerability around the castle would be also nice
It does feel kind of stupid that a foot high ledge blocks you from aoeing things on the ground below you.
At least change where the players LoS start is calculated from, preferably changed to the height of a mid-size norn. Right now feels like if my knees can’t see a target, I can’t hit it.
Could be asuran; when I get close to a ledge on the wall: my camera goes in and out like mad. Makes me woozy.
Only way I can AoE off a wall is to jump up on to the ledge and risk getting pulled off which always happens, btw. I think I need some phone books to stand on please.

Yes, that seems to be core problem. You can’t land an AoE down there at all without standing at the ledge which puts you in all sorts of troubles first being the risk of forced emergency evacuation. The fact that you need to bend over the wall edge to hit anything down below that is close to the wall with targeted skills is perfectly fine by me though.

Either that or high heels. I’m afraid your krewe will not understand you using BOOKS like that

yea this is one of the most annoying things in game -.- not sure if it’s a glitch or not because some towers it works right and other towers it doesn’t. You can even fire through the wall in certain spots from the ground… Utility skills work fine for me, but weapon skills rarely work.

True. Walls and dors alike. Just need to find that sweet spot. I hope this will be fixed soon.

Yep. It’s absolutely perverse that it’s substantially easier to hit someone on the wall with AOE than it is to hit someone on the ground FROM a wall with aoe.
For some bizarre reason A-net seems to think it’s funny to invert the normal laws of physics and make standing behind a wall a disadvantage rather than an advantage in siege situations.
It is actually much easier for attackers to hit defenders on the walls with AE spells, then it is for the defnders to hit attackers that are standing close to the wall.
That is a really good point.
Tarnished Coast
I’m a huge norn (largest model possible) … big and ugly. With my rifle, I would expect I can have a hay day shooting down at the little ants poking about, but I spend more time trying to find a target far enough away (within range) so my shot hits, then actually defending when my ankles are being blocked. The sad thing is – my range versus my target-able area is like … a section of 10 feet in the back of my range (so it feels when I don’t jump on a ledge). But hey … not a problem to pew pew me, big huge target, easily target-able not only by aoe (I kinda would expect this) but by rangers, rifles, pistols, anything down below me – necro staff – you name it.
Promoting defense when random players deal with this = a one time wonder, where they will rarely care to help again on defense. Sad panda, but I’ll carry on working within these restrictions even though I don’t get it.

Yea, I agree that it really makes no sense.
Also, there doesn’t seem to be any range advantage for shooting from higher ground, whereas GW1 did. Maybe this is something we can hope for in the future?
