I can’t watch those vids. They don’t cheer me up, they rather depress me even more. Good old days, fun times, now gone for good

The last day before the new maps, we (HoD) walked a golem or two to Hills on our BL. We took the keep and then jumped off the bridge to our deaths. It was like a funeral procession and I didn’t realize at the time how prophetic it was. If anyone can link the video I would really appreciate it.

Well, anet wont listen anyway. Like everyone wants the old borders back…. but they wont throw away the amount of development that they threw into the new maps just because no one wants them (haha!).

Sad that the Patch killed WvW literally.

The worst idea ever in the old map? Perhaps. :P

Once in awhile when I’m on my lunch break at work, I look up my old long lost guild wvw raid vids. I remember a time when it was exciting to log into wvw and teamspeak hearing voices now long gone from the game and the fearless driver “Number FourtySeven” yell at us in team speak each night “FOCUS THE FRACK UP YOU IDIOTS!” I remember reset anticipating who our opponents were going to be that week because it meant new guilds to fight because reputations were huge back then. We were a small team, only 10-12 on a good night but it’s kinda weird, I still remember epic fights, certain funny team speak comments, or just moments that were legend that only our little guild shared.

The vid below and music kinda makes me sad and happy at the same time.

Luckily us players shared those moments together and anet can’t take that away from us. They’ve managed to take away so much, but at least we all share those alpine memories together

One night raiding in the BLs

Actually I shouldn’t link this video, because it isn’t listed and were for the guild-use only, but the guild has been long disbanded and the player who made this video doesn’t play any more. That fight, constant in combat for around 30 minutes, was so amazing, I still love it when I see this. How I miss that guild and the people in it, so here’s a gentle aroooo from me too you guys. Now, I go into a corner and cry a little bit.

Honestly, the map was pretty bland overall and gave an advantage to map hopping k-trainers (with Golems at spawn) usually, it was good for smaller groups too, but the whole upgrade system since HoT, totally ruins that side of WvW.

If only they could just make the map bigger and use up space better, rather than add verticality.

Here’s a video of my own from Season 2, the meta is alot different now and there’s alot less players, not much incentive to play wvw or even gw2 nowadays.

Old map was perfect, dont fool yourself

The map wasn’t that good as people think, there’s alot of wasted space filled with just as much horrible spots to fights, inside camps and keeps, around choke points, the bridge near Hills on the south, these aren’t much different at all, to what you get on the Desert Borderlands, on the West side of the map.

Nostalgia just clouds people’s memory.

The problem is with the silly mechanics they added and the current Meta in WvW, even though they balance for PvP specifically. It’s not just that, players/zergs still just turtled inside keeps and all that with siege.

3 copies of the same map doesn’t help either. Actually, if they spent their time and resources, on another Border, rather than EoTM, we would have 3 different new Borderland maps.

I’m not saying the new map is great, but the only map that seems well designed by them is EB IMO, luckily they haven’t removed that yet.
