Blackgate:

Kimgoon[KnT] – Probably the most energetic commander in BG. There’s never a dull moment when he’s around. From intense commanding (guy never seems to run out of air) during fights to his joyful mannerisms after winning one.

Sephiroth Wing [LP] – Sephi and his merry band from Thailand is also a joy to follow. Famous for transforming our late SEA pugs into killing machines and leading zergs to their deaths through “Seph traps”.

I really like Dgins in TC too, but he does have room to grow. His ego is a little too big. A big ego is clearly an asset in a commander, but commander doesn’t work without the supporting roles. Dgins needs to learn to make better use of the people following him, not alienate them, waste them, or blame them for his own failures.

People also consider him a cheater, and that hurts him in terms of top players not dealing with him. Needs to get beyond that.

He’s tagging up and working for the team. Everyone appreciates it, very much.

Dgins is an awesome commander. His ego is what pushes most people to act right in zerg fights. While some have a hard time believing it, militia tends to do better when the commander is stern and even rash. Of course other qualities such as respect are important, and Dgins does have that as well.

About the “cheating” thing though… he doesn’t cheat. All people have to do is follow him and you’ll realize he’s doing everything pretty normal.

glad to hear Dgins doesn’t cheat. I don’t know anything about it except that some people think he did in the past.

It would probably help everyone to think it was whatever in the past.

I do not have a favorite one, but i’ve met a lot of great ones… These are from my personal experience

Best open-field commander – Star Player, ex TE guild leader

Aggresive and creative- O Olaf O [Olaf]

Best strategist – Kalkz

Most charismatic ( ability to rally tons) – Xushin

SoS commanders
Eldsvada Dods [TW]-his pug group held their own against EP in a 15v15 scrim
Elizabeth H Frost [lust]- Great commander, puts long hours in aswell.
Scarz [Dx]- Really good EB commander, very skilled technically always knows what’s going on.

Heapse of other good commanders on SoS these are just some of the newer ones who have stood out.

Deso:

1. Ins For Da Wagh – one of the best wvw commanders i have ever met, hands down
2. Rox the Fourth – very skilled leader and very funny to listen to.

Cosmic……the best, imo, Commander we have. This guy gets results, now only if we could clone him.

Bird Song spends all his time on the forums, and not commanding :P

Smitry does all the heavy lifting! He’s like our only “legendary” commander.

Cosmicwarmachine has got some stuff going for him. He just needs to spend less time complaining about people and more time helping them improve their game.

Ancalagon Ira works his butt off as well. His real strength is running zergs off cliffs.

But these are just our zerg commanders. NSP has lots of great guild commanders and commanders who work behind the scenes, not always tagging up.

Currently on FA:

[APS] Silo. Rolls with the punches, keeps a clear head.
[DPS] Fallen. Though he’ll say “be right back” and be gone for the rest of the day.
[BOMB] Tyryon. Willing to be a militia commander for long hours.
[TK] Delune. Much the same reason, but also for his golem rushes.
[PRO] Wombat. Lovable Aussie.
[CL] Cenarius Neguile (sp?). No one else on FA yolo’s like CL. Crazy chilenos.
[ACE] Deibos. Clever, but importantly will listen to reasonable ideas.
[NERF/TLC] Chaba. Get to the Chaba!!

He makes you play hard and laugh even harder. You get to know people, unwind at the end of the day and just generally have fun. If you are new, no problem, Hashtag will get someone to help you best play your class.

He creates some of the oddest terms for maneuvers too.

• Attack Squirrel – if following on voice he is very precise and clear on directions and
  when followed is a great tactician. I have seen many good battles
  won tactically by this gent.

• Tiberious of Elona – Is able to make quick decisions and keep the action rolling.
  Solid decision and normally a good base to accomplish his task.

• Banjo Rodriguez – Is always fun to follow and has good people skills leading to a
  good following.

• pbbruce – Always solid commander with a great guild following. I commend this
  commanders willingness to assist other teams in the many other maps
  that comprise WvW. This is a true community minded commander.

• Khold Heart – Another very stable, solid commander. He is very good at setting goals,
  maintaining awareness of his surroundings, and leading his troops to
  victory with the given available resources.

These are just opinions and each have their own strengths. My hats off to you my friends. Job well done on a daily basis.

The best commander I know (on Desolation) is Ins For Da Wagh. If you ever fought in a giant zerg against another giant zerg and suddenly a not so giant Deso zerg appears and wipes both giant blobs, chances are good that you just lost to Ins. And be assured: he planned exactly that in before hand.

But my favourite commander is Lelabot. Even when she is angry I could listen to her for hours.

He’s great at communicating what he is going to do, why he’s doing it, what he needs his infantry to do, and motivating people even when things go bad. Also, unlike so many, he doesn’t use derogatory terms like “scrub”. He’s just a really nice guy, to the extent that while I usually roam and scout and don’t like to follow commanders, I do try and help when I see him tagged up.

Sir Victimizer, that’s a great and very spot on list but in my opinion you should be on that list too. It isn’t every commander who can take a pack of friendlies and lead them to victory (and bags full of loot) but you and the above coms are masters of that art.

i have to laugh at the trolls naming monkey on BP. his behavior many times sours the good times people should be having in a game such as gw. he expects way too much from people and if things dont go his way he starts insulting people. i literally have seen people leave wvw because of his tirades, which is the last thing a server needs when numbers mostly win.

so many people have offered to pay his transfer to any server if he would just go.

Lyorkie – The silent assassin of YB. Sacrifices a lot to help the server without being too noisy.

well i spent a lot of time commander sniping with my 3 man killshot team. Wonder whose left to cross off my list.

Being only a casual WvWer, I don’t do that much WvW, but of the commanders on Piken Square that I’ve run with:
– Abb the Machine: Tends to be too intense for me, but there’s no question that he gets things done.
– Sir Victimizer: Always calm and polite. Mean strategist who explains not only what we’re doing, but why. Also, calm and polite.
– Sïlq: I’ve never had that much pure, unadulterated fun in this game as when I followed her havoc squad.

Most of the commanders I like are either not playing anymore or on different servers

I name Discharged Guard from [KISS] and Mr Purrrbulous the Pugmander of GH as my favourites. Not afraid to tag up when things are going kitten, thats what i respect most in a commander. Discharged Guard with his core team around him can hold a map on his own and if its open raid its just steamrollerino time! Mr Purrrbulous knows how to get the best out of the (pretty terrible) GH pugs and will push straight into the backline of a 50 man blob with 2 more Melees (or alone if need be). Both are good fun, though purrr can be a bit of whiny kitten for no reason depending on his daily mood. (wat? wat?) still loving those guys. We have more excellent commanders, but i will restrict the list to these two who tag up pretty much every day.
