List of Cumulative Changes to WvW.
? November 15, 2012 – 1 listed change to wvw. 16 cumulative changes to wvw. (this doesn’t really count as a wvw change…more like a pve change)
The drop rarity of Rare and Exotic weapons from certain places in the world (champions, veterans, and players in WvW) has been increased. Rares and Exotics should be much more likely to drop and every champion should be guaranteed to drop loot. This was to ensure that world loot drops were not a significantly worse way of acquiring rare and exotic items than crafting and running dungeons.

World vs. World
• Account-bound WXP
• Players will need to load into a map with every one of their characters to have their WXP added to their account total.
• Note that WXP is summed, not ranked. (e.g., having two characters exactly at rank 10 puts the player’s account total at rank 15 and 4/5) See http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/WXP#World_ranks for more information on WXP and ranks.

You should really remove everything that’s about EoTM though. Its not WvW.
It’s not quite so staggering when you read the detail of the ‘changes’. A huge number of them are fixing things that shouldn’t have broken in the first place. Season 2 doesn’t really count as a ‘change’.
Quite easy to make the list seem like something important was done – how about breaking it down into ‘actual changes’ ‘bug fixes’ etc which would give a better impression of what has been done than a list of every minor tweak (most of which add up to practically nothing).
toolbar changes are very important imho.
If making it so npc’s can cross a bridge is a “change” and not a “shouldn’t have been broken in the freakin first place” then i’ve pretty much lost all faith in everything now.

Thought the same with party options being “fixed” after 18 months lol.
Madness Rises [Rise] – Banners Hold.
Don’t argue with idiots, they pull you down their level and own you with experience.

EotM is very much WvW, even if you don’t like it.
It was developed by the WvW team, in answer to WvW demands from WvW players.

Eotm was an answer to a question that was not asked.
Oh, i agree with you guys about everything. Compared to the changes made for spvp and pve this is a joke. I use staggering as sarcasm. I agree that bug fixes and tool tips and etom and seasons are not changes to content. They are QoL and that is being extremely generous with the term QoL.
I wanted to be unbiased about the “changes/updates” “to/for” wvw. That is why i left all those bug and tooltip eotm and season stuff in there.
If we take out the eotm and season malarchy, there are probably only 100 real content changes to wvw over the passed 2 years.
If we were to list real content updates to WvW, EOTM would be the only thing listed (i only add that to please lordkrall, the rest of us know EOTM isnt WvW)
Along with the “GvG” area in OS, which can be disrupted by and troll. As well as being matchup locked, meaning guilds from other tiers cannot join in.
We asked for new maps for WvW, they game us a waiting room, which ended up being a karma train and fast leveling area for PvE players.

I’d probably say <10 real content additions.
Landmines
Breakout events
WvW ranks/WXP
Ruins of Power
EotM
I probably missed a few, but everything else is either tweaks, bug fixes, or a PvE addition that spilled over into WvW(Laurel vendors, Ascended stuff, etc). That is a pretty poor showing at a cursory glance, but once you review the additions it’s even worse. Ruins of power was just a bad idea. Breakout events and landmines are alright I guess. WvW ranks are pretty pointless for most people, don’t feel rewarding as far as progression, and weren’t really needed considering the state of WvW. EotM is fine for a waiting room, but the thing I think really angers people is that given the state of WvW they spent so much time on a waiting room. Hooray! The rest of WvW is dying, but now people in queues that only pop up on reset night have a place to go.
EotM was their answer for the population problems I guess, in terms of Servers who are overpopulated at least – and as an alternative to your usual WvW maps.
Plays completely opposite professions to his main Teef.
lets be honest here guys.
culing got fixed, and lag got much better. those 2 things really made a difference in improving the game experience.
but yeah, content adding is a fail still. i remember them saying they wanted to focus on making the base of the game as solid as possible in the 1st year, and still, no commander system… is there anything more important for the base of wvw then commanders?
It was developed by the WvW team, in answer to WvW demands from WvW players.
Prove it. The part about demands and the part about there being a wvw team.

Did you read these forums before EotM was released?
There were more or less daily threads about how people wanted the ability to play while queued, how they wanted variety and how they wanted new maps.

40 instances of the word “fix”.
3 instances of the word “adjust”.
6 instances of the word “disable”.
only one way we’re gon trim dese posts
On topic on what kind of changes have been made:
We have to differentiate between
1) general game mechanic changes
2) quality of life changes
3) bug fixes
4) and new/altered content
The fix of culling problems has improved WvW a lot, but also was the base for allowing those massive PvE zerg events in the open world during season 1 of LS.
Account bound (picking it because it was one of the last ones) is a quality of life change, allowing you to manage WxP better and branching out to other professions, too.
Bug fixes are self-explanatory, but we all know that there are still a few more that are burning under our nails for a while now.
So that leaves us with “content”. Those updates (or the lack of them) are the ones that are causing the most discontent among WvW players. EotM was a huge update in terms of map design, some new mechanics and events. The problem is that EotM is not the “fun playground for WvW/competitive players” it was intended to be. Instead it is a mindless loot/karma/WxP train for the simple minded. Why is that so? The rewards are so insanely good that you practically have to be stupid not to take advantage of it. It is Anet’s fault alone for letting this happen for months now without making any changes to the loot.
Why do the WvW core players have no chance of reclaiming WvW? Cross server factions make it hard to coordinate, so why waste your time trying to ferry people to one map when you can do the same on BL or EB with less set-up time. No use in upgrading anything, because nobody every stays behind and feels the need to defend, knowing it gets flipped in 10 min anyway by a zerg.
Still keeps a volume of Kurzick poems ;)
Lordkrall visits the WvW forums exclusively to troll us, don’t even bother.
They don’t care about WvW, just quit it like everyone else has.

……
i am trying to find what are doing these aetherblade pirates in the middle of the eotm ,except stacking me 10 bleeding from the spikes when i am passing their area….
is there any event on them to trigger any boss or they are the usual trash mobs in the middle of the map ?

Still haven’t done what I asked. Your points are invalid until you do so.

Why waste the time when you will just ignore it anyway?
But yeah, well we know that Devon is head of WvW, which would suggest there is a team. Being a head of something that does not exist would be rather silly after all.

so anet makes map outside of wvw ppt, so less people play wvw, kills any chance of servers destacking and you say it is wvw development?
Well if they did let it effect PPT it would increase stacking even more and make it 100% impossible for smaller servers to even have a chance, seeing as there would have (theoretically) been unlimited amounts of maps for the big server which were more or less empty of opposition.
And I am rather sure that people would have disliked that even more than the current version.

my point is that “fix” broke more thing than it fixed. this is not the only case.

No event or anything. They are there for the simple purpose of being a bridge in the storyline between WvW and the Living Story. In other words, they are like the Skritt or Centaur you would find in the Borderland map.

oh no . another lost opportunity to be a wvw map real challenge with a boss in the middle and 3 forces around fight each other who will take the last hit to win the big chest loot

I’m head of a 1-man guild which I never represent.
To the rest of the population, that guild might as well not exist.
The only way anyone would know it exists is if people start representing it and get out there doing stuff.
Sound familiar?
