I’ve been in multiple 1v1 encounters where it has happened. Usually if they disappear, it’s because of their Downed skillset. I would wait and see if they used it but to no avail. They’ve literally disappeared without a trace and the only explanation I can find is that they logged out before I had a chance to execute.
I’ve tested this on mobs and sure enough you can log out while downed. You still log in dead but the fact is you just denied someone a kill and a chance for Badges.
I only do that when I’m out gathering in my server’s own territory and some huge zurg of like 100 comes at me. They sure as hell aren’t going to get an easy reward off me. Not to mention they are called “Badges of Honor.” There is hardly anything honorable about 100v1.
I’m seen one too many thieves do this. I guess its just another one of their escapes

Not all thieves do this just the bad ones who give the rest of us a bad name. I myself have had it done by alot of JQ noobs most being thieves as well. Its stupid that you cant tele while in combat but you can log out while in combat.
WILL HE DARE MOW US ALL DOWN WITH DEATHS SCYTHE?”
I’ve started to see more and more people log out if they’re about to go down, what makes it worse is the only time I’ve seen people doing it is in the small skirmishes, 1v1, 2v1, 3v2, etc.
I have no issues with someone waypointing (or even logging out) right before combat is initiated, it’s frustrating, but whatever. It’s just pathetic if you’re actually in combat and log out just to avoid a death, grow up, you got beat, deal with it.
