Does it exist? I often try to play on BL’s that have close to no one from my server on it, but there’s little I can do other than take random sentry posts and kill a yak or two, which doesn’t really do much.

I’m not yet at a level where I can solo camps. (Is it even possible?)

I know I can just go to regular sPvP at any time, but I like WvW much better in terms of having an exploratory sense to it, as well as personal gearing.

Yakslapping, Sentry Murder and Camp Flipping are the only things you will get done alone…

Soloing camps is possible with all classes, I can confirm that. You can always be useful as a solo player as well, but you need to think a bit harder :p To give an example, Blackgate hit our SM in EB a while back (they were in the inner) and I was running a solo build, rather than going in and defending SM I went around to the North side of SM and attacked the players ralling/heading in to SM. In the end I dropped a player and then used that player as bait for other players. In the end I had around 25 players sidetracked trying to kill me and get their players up. I think if you can get into a situation like this you have contributed more than you/I ever could have done rallying in SM for defence. We kept SM this time. We lost it some 20 minutes later but got 2 ticks out of it and I believe it was pulling those 25 players away from the rest of their force that flipped the fight in our favor. But its not brutally obvious. You don’t see big figures all the time. Its harder to measure your achievements beyond" our zerg killed theirs so I contributed to that". But solo players can change the face of the battle.

I play solo alot and there are many times I have help break a seige on our gates by running up with my wolf and scaring everybody and shooting people in the b.ack causing them to come after me. I have to say though it would be a lot more affective if the people attacking the walls would stay dead lol

Suicide is not the answer. Support from the back in big groups and running with small groups is our thing for now. Soloing is death on repeat.

It’s tough but I think it’s possible to be effective solo on a lower population borderland. Expect to die a lot more than you kill anyone, though.

I spent most of my time roaming/soloing in WvW by killing/escorting dolyaks, flipping camps alone, contesting enemies’ waypoint, killing invaders when they are alone, and avoiding big groups. And i can safely say its entirely possible (and more fun tooo!). ( I play on asian primetime at Tier 1 btw)

Yes it exists. No it isn’t especially fun, rewarding, or useful.

Running into 10-20 man groups zerging a single supply camp is common. At that point, you either need the same number of people in order to (hopefully) stalemeate them in the claim circle.

If you have less people, just wait for them to leave and PvE it.

Soloing supply camps is pretty much the maximum you can do solo.

But, with one buddy you can take towers. With two buddies you can take keeps.

What do you mean when you say “not at a level”?

Do you mean actual levels(level 5, level 80), or level of skill?

If it’s the first one, then it’s best if you run with a group as it’s easy to get to 80, then solo roaming will be much more rewarding. A low level solo roaming is bound to be prey for any level 80 roamer.

As far as rangers are concerned, they have some really powerful builds, most of them involving melee. I do recall a day where it was almost reset, and such the 3 servers were dueling. We had this ranger who would beat the crap out of D/D eles and Guardians. He could outheal them and deal massive DPS. It was exciting to see that rangers are so powerful in the 1v1 aspect.

Here in tier one flipping a camp can almost be rulled out, at least during the times ive been on. Pretty much someone or a zerg is going to happen by during your assault on the npc’s. I do sometimes escort yaks since i dont run high mobility classes or builds. If you want to get better at 1v1 against thieves or d/d ele’s then its the way to go. I love the moment when me and the yack assasin see each other and stop to figure out how its going to go down.
