Today, GoM siege’d ET’s Greenlake Tower in WvW, using the breakout event…we pushed them away and killed siegerazer took about 30 min-1 hour. Then after 5 or so minutes they had started another breakout which they eventually took Greenlake Tower. I think there should be a longer cool down limit than 30 min-1 hour to restart the breakout event, and maybe a even longer cool down for a server that is probably 3x larger than Eredon Terrace.

I think they shouldn’t exist at all.
You are looking at the breakout events the wrong way. It’s there to encourage randoms to go borderland maps. And when the enemy comes there’s more fun and action for you.
Or what would you be doing in your fully upgraded borderland void of all enemies? Sit next to an arrowcart in tier3 keep feeling awesome?

Except ET is probably lucky if they have any tier 3 towers in their own borderlands. GoM is beating both servers combined by almost double the points which means they’re holding their borderlands quite often. If anything, these events should be disabled for any server that has such a commanding lead.

That’s a pretty good idea. Usually seen these kinds of threads from people whose servers dominate the matchups completely so i commented it as such

You know there is a way to counter how often it is available. Just don’t kill siegerazor, instead, push the group back, kill the dolly, crush the seige that was built, but leave the commander seigerazor alive. As long as hes standing outside of the tower he doesnt respawn at their respawn point to come again. Now this method does have 1 major drawback. In order to get your supply dollies in you must walk them in past seigerazor. Or just not have any supplies getting into the tower. I do not know how long Seigerazor stays there but I can tell you it quite longer than the respawn he normally does. We once had him up for like 2 to 3 hours in front of briar tower.
It’s broken currently, in more ways than one. It is instantly repeatable, and on top of that you can (or could until recently) actually trigger it after you’ve taken the tower. It needs to be a 30 minute wait AFTER Siegerazer has been killed, and at that time marker it needs to check to see if the tower is owned or not.

Try this:
Don’t kill Siegerazor. Last time I checked if your team doesn’t kill him he would just kitten at the door and couldn’t be restarted. Just make sure to tear down any siege he has left behind.
If you’ve taken your entire borderlands but can’t stop the enemy re-capping ONE tower, maybe you could just shore up your defenses and move to another map to steamroll everything there? Once you’ve done that on every map, THEN you can complain about your enemies having a ridiculous advantage over you… owait.
Even the winning servers can have dead hours sometimes, and you want to deny the handful of people online the opportunity to take a tower and rally some morale?

There is a bug that AFAIK has never been acknowledged nor fixed with the breakout events where whenever a breakout is triggered another one will ALWAYS be available immediately regardless of the failure or success of the first breakout with no cooldown. There is nothing sillier than having Siegerazer waiting in your spawn after you have just used him to take a tower back. If the first and second breakouts both fail to capture the tower I believe there is the normal cooldown.

I don’t think this is actually a bug – it might be a feature. From what I understand, if you trigger Siegerazer after already having control of the tower, he’ll approach the tower as normal, but instead of popping the control areas that you typically stand in the trigger the siege building part of the event, his Dolyak instead completely refills the the tower’s supply.
I think that this event was put in place to allow servers to gain a foothold on a map otherwise completely dominated by an opposing force. I think it’s fair and balanced and I appreciate its effectiveness. Some servers really need that extra little push to help gain control of a tower. For the rest of the servers who can field the numbers, I find that most of the time they seem to forget that Siegerazer / Siegecrusher is even an available option.

I’ve said this right from the moment they were introduced. Its far too short which leads to exploits like servers leaving siegerazer alive.
There needed to be changes a long time ago, but were never incoming.
It can be respawned too fast (yes I know you don`t have to kill it, but some players don`t listen, also guards will kill it too).
It moves so slowly, that by time it gets to the tower, the 10+ players have had time to flip camps either side.
If there`re ten+ players smart <cough> enough to enter the same BLs, then they should do the effing job themselves. (I`m on a lower pop WvWs server & at times it`s, like other night, 20+ v 5ish defenders & that SR bot).
Other night enemy summoned it, then just ran to the other tower with the free supplies & camps flipped to take that one. Players should be forced to stay with the bot to keep it active, if no players are there, then it should explode candy & they get a debuff.

He already refills the supply when you capture it. If it’s a feature then it barely makes sense. It obviously seems like either a bug or poor design. Why breakouts in pairs? Wouldn’t it make more sense for breakouts to continue infinitely with no cooldown until the tower is taken?
