Guild Wars 2

Hi there. I’m looking for a new EU server for myself and some extra company I’ll be bringing. We’re currently on Ruins of Surmia and it’s so incredibly dead, no blobs, no good guild groups or roaming groups, nobody really cares about winning and there aren’t even players or commanders 90% of the time. We’d even be willing to transfer to a US server, as long as there was activity and lag wasn’t an issue.

What we’re looking for is a server which is friendly to PuGs, as we don’t have time to really schedule effectively due to work/university. It’s preferable that people use tags as it’s not fun attempting to find the ‘commander’ by hunting them down and that there is some activity at non-peak times. So far I’ve seen Gandara, SFR and Desolation suggested, as well as Piken. So if you’re from one of those servers I would appreciate your opinion on it. ^^

(Also, no bronze, I’m in bronze already and it really sucks.)

You care about winning (this is a bad thing).
So your only choice is SFR. All the other servers prefer to play for fun and not care about the score because it doesn’t actually matter.

I would say come to Ring of FIre, but hey you are from RoS so that means only SFR is good for you.

If you and your friends end up being willing to hop across the pond (which you mention as a possibility) then I would recommend Tarnished Coast.

The server holds a competitive spot in Tier 1 NA, plus we have guilds and players from all different time zones and parts of the world. Commanders are easy to find, and more often than not are hanging out in the TC voice chat.

I have a large number of European members in my guild, and no one has ever reported any unusual problems with latency.

We can also boast having easily the friendliest and most inclusive attitude amongst all the upper tier servers.

All the good GvG guilds are going to T2 NA, if they are not already there.. There is no lag difference between NA or EU, so if you’re considering a new server, go to T2 NA. That’s the future of WvW.
