I am looking into transferring into a more active WvW server, as well as a more competitive. I do not want to be in Tier 1, and was looking at Tier 2. Of the 2nd Tier the only one that is open for transfer is Sea of Sorrows. FA was my first choice but from seeing the last week it hasn’t dropped from Full. My only concern is from what I am reading Sea of Sorrow seems to be more dominant for Aussie time frame and NA times are not very active. Is there any truth to this or is this old information, as the most recent info I can find is from 8 months ago. I am Central Time Zone just outside Chicago. Thanks in advance!

Has some stats on when servers get their points and what not. It isnt perfect obviously but not a bad tool for some addition info.

if you play during NA and you want competitive, then SoS is actually the right choice. they are weak during NA and dominant during OCX at the moment. So if you go there you will help bolster their NA and help balance things out. Going to a server that is already dominant during your playtime is boring.

Weak does not = inactive. We have a number of guilds running during NA and are currently looking to add to our numbers. coveragewars2.com is not a fair read when a server is drastically outnumbered by another server at most/all timezones such as SoS at the moment by YB. Of course your coverage is going to look weak in those cases. That doesn’t mean we aren’t showing up and it doesn’t mean we aren’t still playing. if you are still considering SoS, come to www.sosgw2.com and feel free to ask the community itself.

As someone from YB I would also say go SoS. They have a fair presence, and do need more NA. They also have several active NA guilds to get into so you won’t feel left out of the action.

Just a note that many guilds are currently leaving SoS. Frankly, it’s a poor time to transfer there as that server is highly unstable, are getting stomped by an overstacked YB and you will pay 1800 gems to transfer as they are ranked very high.

The only thing that SoS has lost this last week is the same thing that FA and YB have lost. GvG guilds moved ALL (from SoS, FA and YB) to T3 servers.

The guilds that left are all gvg guilds. If the OP is not really into that type of thing, the nthere is really no problem at all. It also has nothing to do with server stability. Both YB and FA are losing the GvG guilds as well. Most of them are not really involved in the server community.

The only reason our NA isn’t as strong is because our recruitment was hindered for a long time by a false full status that prevented us from replacing guilds that stopped playing or transferred off for various reasons. The server is still showing up daily, pushing as much as we can even though we are outnumbered in the tier. TBH I wish people would stop putting down the server, expecially those that aren’t even on SoS to know the situation and how we are reacting. The only reason we appear even remotely “unstable” is because people chose to believe things like the above post and NOT move to SoS. We’re still playing, still having tons of fun and still looking for people to join us, especially now that the door is open to all! We have our eyes on the road ahead and are making plans for a bright future! PPT is not the only or best indication of a server and it’s strengths and/or weaknesses.
