Guild Wars 2

Since Anet is going to make us pay for transfers under the guise that it will stop certain guilds transferring to lower tier servers so they can mop the floor with them… I’m looking for a new server that has a good WvW population. I’m not interested in one of the top servers, I’m new to the game and i suck lol. I do how ever want to be on a server that is PUG friendly, Is some what competitive and has the numbers to stand up to the servers like kaineng , since the problem will not go away and Anet made the choice to profit from this problem instead of fixing it.

Anyway, any advice would be appreciated. =)

FA is not a bandwagon server trying to recruit even more people. This is our 9th week in T3 and we have not come in 1st place during any of those weeks. Our fairweathers have long gone and we have lost some guilds throughout our stay in this tier. We are still here fighting because we love this level of competition and it would be a shame if we dropped. T1/T2 isn’t even being discussed. We just want to become more competitive in this tier which won’t be possible if we don’t recruit to get our population back in line with our opponents.

Jade Quarry (although in T1) is very PuG driven. We fight with what we have out there. We have a server wide TS3 to communicate better, and we go out win/lose/or draw we have fun. As you do stuff with the people out there you learn.

Come over to yaks bend. Everyone is welcome in the community and there is plenty of guilds to join. Many of them as in the yaks bend alliance like my guild [WAR] War is Hell. Player skill is not a big deal and we are more than happy to teach. They alliance plays nice with pugs as well. If your interested in coming over and need a guild or anything feel free to message me or any other guild you are interested in.

I transfered to Fort Aspenwood yesterday (2nd place on tier 3) and its a very welcoming community, organized, with good numbers but not over the top (didn’t get any queues last night), and have a public TS so you can learn about tactics and strategies, and ask questions when it’s not very busy in the fighting department.

There is a solid community, good commanders, and plenty of excellent guilds that would be willing to take you in.

We’re not the best of the best, but we’re good enough if you want to have fun.

What you’re essentially asking is for us to predict what skill level in terms of tier a server like Kaineng is at. And then predict which other servers will be in that tier with Kaineng.

Kaineng right now is a bit of an aberration among lower tier servers and this behavior is likely due to some factors specific to the server like WM transferring there, triggering transfers by some other PvP guilds from across the low-mid tier servers.

Kaineng is on its way up from T6 and should continue to rise till they hit T3. I won’t be surprised if they go further.

But you also mentioned you’re not interested in any of the top servers, which I’m guessing excludes Tier 1 -3.

I bet you can find WvW PUGs on every server, so that won’t help to narrow things down.

If you pick any server in the T4 – T6 range, you should find what you are looking for. Unless some major drama happens, Kaineng won’t be hanging out in that range for long at all.

I’ve heard good things about Yaks Bend and that was one of the servers i was considering, I ended up on Anvil Rock. I can’t say enough good things about the people on AR and my only complaint is that they just don’t have the numbers in WvW to compete.

Anyway, Does servers like Yaks Bend, Ebay and the 8 – 12 tiers have enough people ? Also if there are ques how long are they ?

You don’t really need to worry about queues until T2 servers. From what I’ve heard, as I’m not T2, is that even queues thre aren’t too bad.

But lets just get real, come to Fort Aspenwood (T3). If you do, shoot me a PM and I’ll introduce you to some guilds based on what you want out of WvW. We’ve got a strong WvW guild presence that ranges the whole commitment spectrum.

Servers never have enough people it seems. Yak’s prime time seems to be around 2pm-11pm server time. During that period there is usually a queue anywhere from 5 minutes to 20 minutes for our borderland or EB. During off peak times there usually isn’t any wait.

You won’t be disappointed being on Yak’s. It’s got a pretty great WvW community, and we are pretty competitive every week. I have a really good time in WvW no matter what time I’m logging in. Come visit the forums, yaksbend.com.

Will do and thanks for the reply ! I wouldn’t mind going to one of the top servers i just don’t want to be severely out matched. Like i said I’m a newb and I just want to run around, have fun and fight people in WvW. Groups, zerg, solo what ever as long as there are a lot of people out there fighting on all sides i will probably like it. =)

All three of these describe Tarnished Coast. The added benefit is that we have a gigantic population (likely the highest single server population in the game at this point in time), so it’s very hard not to bump into people while out questing and exploring.

The only downside to Tarnished Coast would be if you cannot stand roleplay, as we are the unofficial roleplaying server for North America. If you don’t mind stumbling across people in-character every so often, then Tarnished Coast is probably what you’re looking for.

The majority of our WvW players are pugs/our general militia and not part of big, organized guilds (myself included). Our population is big enough to give us a foothold in T2/T3, and we tend to have a strong competitive presence, even if we are not the best in the world at what we do.

Just thought I’d throw it out there, as you’ve basically described TC in your request. Best of luck with where ever you end up.
