I am from TC. Sick and tired of mindless blobbing. Clashes with other blobs would mainly last >15secs. If you’re wiped, WP continue blobbing. If you are victorious, continue blobbing anyway. Roaming in EBG will 90% result in me not finding any one to fight, or get murdered by zergs. Any suggestion on a less blobby server with a more roamers.

I would like to know too. Im from TC also and i find WvW quite boring now… I try to go with my guild in small havoc groups but all we ever see is massive zergs. i dont even bother with solo roaming in TC.

stop finding the blobs…go to a map and take a tower or 2 see who shows up if the blob shows up goto another map take a tower….blobs don’t jump maps that quick for small groups

In T1 There are blobs on every map.

If play during NA prime time and only roams, my advise is to go to tier 4. Ehmry Bay and Henge of Denravi usually have plenty of roamers around.

Don’t come to FA or SOS either. There is little to no roaming on T2. YB has full 24hr coverage and they have few roamers. The few who I’ve spoken to along the way are miserable on YB since the T1 guilds sort of took over and blob all hours. And YB has multiple scouts everywhere and they tend to follow you but never get close enough to fight. They also have scouts in towers who will not stray far from the portals or guards. They send a call out and then the YB blob steam rolls you. Even when its just a handful of us map hopping to take towers or camps too. I was just in EB and not a soul from FA was there. I took a camp and got rolled by 20 YB and they own the whole map. I don’t see this getting any better with this stale matchup week in and week out and roaming with YB around is impossible. Go further down like T3 or T4 like someone mentioned.

I play on ebay (ehmry ofc) and primarily just do roaming. There will be blobs (especially reset night) but wherever they aren’t… the roamers generally are. Nice for 1v1 3v3 5v5 etc…

T4 or lower. t3 is ruined by GvGs now, and what this guys says is true, even if you go like 1v2 or 1v3 on their scouts and kill 1, the other ones hide back in the towers and they literally call blobs on you.

Go to T4 or something…

Personally about to leave T2 for T4 myself or Dragonbrand, want small group fights back in my life.

Hit up T4-T6. Those are your best odds for decent and consistent roaming.

Dragonbrand has no small good fights. They blob all the time and I really haven’t seen DB roamers but if you are looking for transferring to around t5 or t6 then I recommend Anvil Rock a lot of roaming guilds and the servers we get matched up against has quite a bit roamers

There’s a decent roaming population on Darkhaven and I see a ton of Dragonbrand roamers on DB BL. I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen a solo roamer from Anvil Rock though, so it’s probably a good choice if you’re looking for fights.

Alright guys, after much research, it all boils down to these 3. Ehmry Bay, Darkhaven or dragon brand. Would seek your further explanation and detailed information you have about these 3 servers, not that those already provided arent good enough^^

Ehmry Bay desperately needs more roamers.

Both Darkhaven and Dragonbrand are bandwagon servers that are starting to make comebacks. You’ll find more roaming guilds on DH but DB is going to hit T4 in a couple weeks so you’ll have better fights. I don’t know very much about Ehmry Bay.

Kaineng is a decent server for roaming. Mostly small fights with very few true blob fights.

Depends on how much activity you like. I’ve always found that lower tiers are nicer than higher ones simply because it makes you value being in a zerg more and you feel more like a part of the community. Since you won’t see blobs 24/7 it’s a lot more exciting when there are ones about.

Kaineng was one of the better roaming servers I’ve been on. A lot of the players there are very independent and will continue to roam even if there’s a tag on the map.

Of course being in such a low tier it can be pretty slow at times but it’s also nice since you can roam on professions you wouldn’t usually do well with like Necromancer or Guard. It’s not as likely you’ll get blobbed so you can afford to be low on mobility in that tier, mind you there are times when it’s still risky.

I moved from TC to SoR a month or so ago and it’s definitely been an improvement. Varied matches, varies tactics, less or no spying, more skill (in my opinion), and the feeling of actually making a difference.

I can’t say I recommend SoR per se, population during OCX is pretty inconsistent (it’d be nice to have the option to blob up, but it’s only there on occasion) and some of the egos are real. I’d say somewhere around t4 is probably a good sweet spot for regular fights, whether it’s roaming, havoc, or blobbing. EBay sounds like a good option.

Here is my honest experience as a Darkhaven player:

We have perhaps the most dedicated roamers/roaming guilds of t5-6. We, as noted previous by expandas, are experiencing a population shift upwards like Db is, such that we’re much bigger than other t5/6 servers aside from Db (the scores don’t reflect it at the moment, but trust me, we’re quite a bit bigger). The population level on Db is likely about equal to a t4 server at this point, with Dh coming up behind that somewhat mostly because their SEA is larger than most T2 servers (and yes, I have a t2 account, and have fought t2 on Dh before). In fact it’s funny, our SEA is bigger than any t4 server’s… but we still tick 0.

The servers we face are varied and generally have good roamers. As a roamer since about the launch of the game, I’ll say, the servers you want to face in the t4-6 bracket are NSP/GoM/AR. I’ll refrain from saying whether or not Dh is good to fight, as I’m obviously biased. Other servers are generally bad, blob, or cheese. In some cases all 3.

T4 is generally locked, this means very little matchup variety, with Db possibly making an entrance into t4 in a few weeks, but even then that’d be one new matchup over the course of many, many weeks. T5/6 have a lot of variety, with servers swapping in and out.

So my recommendations would be: Dh/DB/SoR for transfers, to get the best mix of fights. With Db, I’ll add a caveat: they perhaps add the most varied amount of servers to fight that have good roamers… but know this, you will be quite despised by virtually everyone. Db is widely considered to be the worst server in silver/bronze, in skill, in blobs, in everything. They have only one decent guild, rest are utter trash. You will be hated. The plus side to this being, you don’t ever actually have to face Db! Their only roamers 99% of the time are PU condi mesmers (and I’m not kidding, on Dh bl right now there are 3 db pu condi mesmers roaming separately from each other and NO OTHER ROAMER). You may hate your own server, depending on your personality, but at least you wouldn’t have to actually face them.

What Arius said is pretty spot on. Only thing I want to add is DB will only be good for you if all you do is solo roam. If you are looking for small groups of skilled roamers to party with then go to a different server, they don’t have any. Even when running the easiest/cheesiest PU, perplexity, condi crap they still can’t handle themselves in a fight.

One other thing to consider is AR doesn’t currently have much ocx coverage (strong euro and NA) so they end up with more variety in their matchups. Might want to consider them if you don’t feel like being locked in 1 tier.
