Dear Arenanet, I play on the server Vabbi (europe) and we have a problem that concerns me and all my fellow players on the server.

Vabbi is not a bad server, and even tho we are outnumbered in every single match up and battleground (even at our own borderland), we still don’t cry about it.
The problem is that we are getting drained for players, and there has been a significant decreasing numbers of WvW guilds due to this.
Losing is not a problem, but being outnumbered and killed by zergs 24/7 for a month, has made a lot of friends quit the game or transfer to high populated server, leaving the rest of the community even weaker than the day before.

To make it even worse, 80% of the players in WvW and on the server in general is Russians. And I don’t have anything against Russians at all, but they do not interact with the rest of our community on the server. They are in Russian guilds, speaking Russians, only playing with Russians, in other words: They are a closed community, and as they are 80% of the people in WvW, you can imagine how depressing and annoying it can get while being outnumbered and there is no way of communicating or organizing stuff. I’m not pointing fingers at the Russians and blaming them, they are free to play as they wan’t, and there are some good commanders who intend to cordinate stuff, but again, they work in Russian timezones, leaving Vabbi open to invaders during primetime.

I am leader of a active guild on the server, and I’m doing everything I can do promote the server and start things off, but everytime you take one step forward, we take 3 steps back. Losing players, losing battlegrounds, losing guilds, and the worst part is losing friends who quit a great game.

I’ve seen tons of good solutions in this forum to solve the issues with low populated servers, and I would like to request a reaction from Arenanet. We have to know if there will be changes in the future, as we cannot continue playing World vs World in this state.

Our NA server is bleeding guilds too, I think players need to take it upon themselves and do an unofficial merger to be honest, leave the dying servers to their fate and everyone move to a new home.

What Niim suggests is probably the best possible outcome from all this. Transfers are still free, time to take advantage. We need at least two tiers of stacked servers for the US (don’t know about Europe) or we’re always going to have lopsided matches in the second tier at least.

You’re doing “everything you can to promote the server” instead of doing everything you can to promote the gameplay of the people in your guild? Wow, I wouldn’t want to be in your guild.

The entire point of having so many servers with free transfers is people choosing where to go, not having every server being great and satisfactory. The other guilds and players on your server understood this, you did not.

according to an ANet representative, the majority of server transfers were made from high pop servers to low pop.
I wonder if he was able to keep a poker face when saying it, tho

par for the course, I guess. All they do with all aspects of WvW while the system is going down in flames is…washing their hands

I think thats my biggest problem with the game.
not the bugs
not the hacks
not the nightcapping
not the free transfers
not the painfully obvious mistakes and under-planning with the gameplay mechanics

I can deal with all that, rough edges can be smoothed out, iterations constantly improve the end product . La Gioconda started as a bunch of lines over a piece of cloth before becoming a masterpiece.

what leaves me heartless is the fact that the developers admit no wrong, admit no problem, ignore us and wash their hands on all problems while the CC police in the forums close, delete topics and hand out temp bans like candy…

as if this same things arent being widely discussed in sites like mmorpg, massively, gw2guru, tentonhammer, gamespot or reddit….someone should tell them that their overzealous censorship aint working, they dont have any face left to save…

if they devoted half the time they spend gagging their community on actually fixing the game, GW2 would be La Gioconda by now…

People arent transferring, theyre quitting. temporarily of course. when you get zerged and cant really do anything, its jut a lame feeling. with that in mind theres not much else to do, level an alt? dungeons? meh

We may be very very small, RoS, but we have teeth. As for frustration, we’ll see.

Quitting the game is silly, especially if you can find enjoyment on a higher population server.

I myself got fed up with things and switched servers last night and I will transfer again if I have to.

Hopefully we will get more people joining the game and we can fill the lower tier servers, but at this point, high pop servers are the place to be.

You left out the part where zerg guilds come to your server, recruit everyone (or, recruited), then leave. Your server is destined to go down the drain, I hope it does not, but with no changes it only makes sense.

What if I told you that there were middle tier servers didn’t have queues either, like the one you’re on? Well, it’s true.

This is very unfortunate. On the other hand, I do think the tendency is that the servers become even more international. That said (/shamelessrecruiting), you would be most welcome in Isle of Janthir, Nima! We really need some European WvW’ers to help the few (very good ones) we’ve got.

There was a trend of guilds transfering from RoS to Vabbi because this was the “better” server. They got contacts on these servers and played on Vabbi for a week or so then they left to a American server and took those guilds from Vabbi with them. So this Alliance drained 2 servers of guilds personaly. Im not sure if it was their intention but they personaly started a leak of guilds on both servers resulting in RoS and Vabbi being on the bottom now.

I don’t think its a total loss as FoW and RoS where looking for a 3 “empty” server. Maybe Vabbi can fill this spot.
