Anyone who acquired either of the accessories Armbrace of Truth or Consortium Charm before the patch can now select new stats of their choice while keeping the name and the Offensive Infusion slots. The same thing is true for Moon Shell/Egg of the Crystal Queenor and Defensive Infusion slots.

That way, such an accessory can be equipped together with a regular one of the same stats to use 2 offensive or defensive WvW infusions.

There is a similar issue with the ascended rings Circle of Light/Snaff’s Gyre and Mariner’s Compass/Yakkington’s Ring. However there is still a way to replicate these after the patch: Both the infused and non-infused versions of the same ring can be simultaneously equipped, trading the 5 Agony Resist for the second offensive or defensive infusion slot.

Unfortunately this workaround exists only for the rings, as accessories cannot be infused.

Summary: What you normally get:

+5 Defensive Stat
-1% damage taken from Guards and Lords
+5 Offensive Stat
+1% damage to Guards and Lords

Players who have one of the pre-patch accessories can now also choose from:

+10 Defensive Stat
-2% damage taken from Guards, Lords and Supervisors

or

+10 Offensive Stat
+2% damage to Guards, Lords and Supervisors

It comes out as a miniscule difference in the end, but being there before certain patches shouldn’t be what Guild Wars (2 or 1; oh, you don’t have one of these triple mod Health +60 PvP shields? Can’t take you on our GvG team) is about.

Easy fix: Add WvW Omni Infusions to the WvW Laurel Vendor for a cost of 10 Laurels and 250 Badges of Honor.

I always assumed the Unique tag was a silly excuse to make ascended rings rare and exclusive in the past so as to prevent power creep.

I see that excuse flying out of the window now, along with any justification for why the Unique tag should ever remain. If a person can wield 2 Incinerators or 2 Frostfangs or 2 Moots, what is really so unique about those trinkets anyway?

They should fix it, but it will take at least a year. Nothing to worry about.
