Not trying to start a complain thread over the forum specialist stuff, but I was wondering what happened with our WvW forum specialist? Checking through the others it seems like they’ve all chimed in recently — Rising Dusk.2408 (Dungeons and Fractals): “about 6 hours ago”, Riku.4821 (PvE): “March 25th, 00:12”, The Gates Assassin.9827 (PvP): “March 26th, 04:10”, and Wolfey.3407 (PvP): “March 27th, 17:26” — but Marmatt.8590 hasn’t posted anything since the 26th of last month. Any new WvW reports or anything?

That’s not my issue. Forum specialist do more than simply talk to people, they are a liaison between the players and ANet. To be more specific, they, “coalesce and transmit player feedback to the ArenaNet Forum Communications Team.”

I saw Marmatt online last week and pm’d him to ask him what gives. It wasn’t him but his brother playing on his account. He told me Marmatt was ill and not around at the moment. That might explain the absence.

Evidence? Look around this subforum and then check out what is in game Nothing, just nothing what players wrote here was put into game. They don’t even care about lag that all experience for last 2 weeks and some experience for last 2 years. So evidence is everywhere

I never once say that they don’t transmit player feedback. I merely find it concerning that I haven’t seen him active in the forums for a while now. Right now we’re in this build-up period to expansion and ANet is actually being more forward with their work into WvW. I just want to make sure that the players are being heard while there is still time to give ideas and feedback and potentially see some of them make it to release.

That should be enough to have him removed as wvw forum specialist and have someone else appointed.

Having someone who shares an account as a forum specialist sounds like a recipe for disaster.

Wish him well from us (if he is indeed ill).

Nothing player want? You mean like a new map? Guild seige? Orbs removed? The water area virtually gone? RI timers having been added?

The list goes on and on. Either you have not paid attention. To WvW for very long, or you feel you must depend on extreme hyperbole alone. In my opinion, they simply do not make post here unless they absolutely have to because of aggressive comments toward them, and unreasonable hyperbole thrown at them. But that’s just my guess.

Our WvW specialist was eaten by a dolphin. True story!

It could be possible, but if it is then that should disqualify him from the post if you ask me.

The forum specialists are supposed to do weekly reports, we cannot have a person who has a serious illness who can go offline for a month at a time! This only slow down things, and anything bad that happens in WvW is immediately raged upon due to past experiences with anet!

They probably did something that violated their contract or had Anet back out on having them as a representative.

Seriously, the entire representative program is kind of a waste of time for WvW. There are sooooooo many game breaking problems with WvW that are not even remotely being addressed that there isn’t any need to outline other new issues. Also, if Anet was serious about the program for WvW they would have at minimum added a second one in light of Marmatt’s absence. PvP gets attention because Anet is very actively promoting it and supporting it’s development. Esports is “value added” on top of the entire game. WvW is just another mode along side of PvE and PvP. If it isn’t HoT or esports related I highly doubt any real attention will be given by the devs, and once HoT and the new map drops, they are going to have their hands full fixing bugs in the main game. So, Marmatt will get back when he gets back. He seems to do a pretty good job when he is active.

Hard to say. If it is true, by chance, then we do not need a specialist that violates the user agreement. If it is not true, what requires a specialist to post, after the harsh reception he received? Perhaps he is taking a casual break from the game as many others do? Could be any number of things to be honest.

Theres also the possibility that the new specialist doesn’t want the same reception as the last one (which was downright rude and nasty) so they are laying low. They don’t need to respond, just read, collect, and send information.

Is an interesting read. If there’s another person, they’d have the specialist designation by their name. If they’re not posting so we can’t see that, they’re not participating in the forums which is one of the things they’re supposed to do.

That said, I don’t think you can say our current one is “highly engaged” with the WvW community…

Well if he is sick I hope he feels better soon. Either way we really could use a mouth piece that at least interacts with the community.

I really don’t dislike Marmatt, but what he’s delivered so far is kittenpoor. Even if you are ill, it takes 3 minutes to tell someone about your absence.
