Magic find affect loot drops from players?
Was noticing this myself…. There was a consumable, I think, that stated it increased something from killing monsters… (Yeah, vague, I know…) Do enemy invaders ever qualify as monsters? Do they ever not?

Why would you be wearing MF gear in WvW anyways?

Magic find works. http://sinasdf.imgur.com/
If it didn’t work from players, the Outmanned buff would be even more pointless than it already is.
I would say it does affect loot from players.

Some of the new ascended gear has like 4% mf on it … the all stats mf gear. So you’d get 20% from that, 10% from guild mf buff, 10% from MF BANNER, and if you wanted to use boon duration food another 40%. Plus theres also that necklace utility infusion for 20%.
I would like to know, what the purpose of wooden chest loot “bags” are. Lat five that I’ve opened have contained barbs.
More on the point, it should work on other players. But then again, people always tell me that they don’t see an increase in drop value when wearing it in pve. But who knows….

I think they are bugged.
The chests are supposed to be for Rare or higher level items,
But when they drop in WvW they, more often than not, don’t give me anything.
Magic find does increase the drop rate of stuff in WvW, increasing your chances of every type of thing dropping, you may not notice just because you aren’t getting rare drops like candy, but killed mobs or players will drop loot much more often(instead of many kills dropping nothing at all).
On the other hand, Chests are for better stuff UNLESS it was from killing a Dolyak, which the chest means you’ll receive 5 supply in addition to whatever coins/spikes/barbs actual gear it dropped.

I thought they got rid of chests. I haven’t seen one in weeks.

I will have to pay attention next time I see a chest in WvW where it came from.
That might explain things.
I was starting to get kitten off, I thought I’d had like 4 rare drops in an hour last week and they all bugged out.
MF doesnt affect the bags you’ve dropped but does effect the quality of the loot you get from the bags.
Without MF gear you kill 25 players and get 20 bags full of white/green/blue stuff.
With MF gear you kill 25 players and get 20 bags full of more white/more green/more blue and possibly rare/exotic stuff….
…. yet,the chance is slightly increased to get rarer loot and might only be noticable in the long run.
Personally tested MF in WvW as this was my first exotic set and yes,you get alot more loot in general, cant say if it’s better/rarer loot for sure.
Running atm (past 4 months) with 0 MF and yes,the loot in general is less and the rares /exotic outcome in the end of the week in close to zero. Yet,I ran without MF gear when they said they’ve actually increased the loot rates. If you are raiding in WvW using non-MF gear actually gives you higher chance to kill more people due to the better stats you can get and thus more bags/loot BUT how can we be sure we wont get same/better/rarer loot if we run with full MF at the same time and actually kill less people due to the lack of specific stats…. that’s what I’ve always questioned myself about MF vs non-MF gear in WvW and in general….
Overall,MF is a waste in WvW as it gives useless stats for PvP scale.

Indeed , but with the new*ish* tagging system, it takes much less damage to score a loot bag. So maybe MF gear is useful now?

Unless you have 15 supply from a buffed camp then that chest will subtract 5 and drop you to 10.
