Listen i had heard this was a problem but now i am seeing it first hand. These guys had guild members from their realm xfer over to blatantly waste our supplies and watch our team chat. They always reacted to things even if we stayed hidden regardless of where we were when it was spoken in chat. This is freaking outrageous.

Hmm … I am just trying to be a bit clearer on your complaint. Is this so called cheating a result of GW2 mechanism which somehow permits this to happen or is it a Maguuma issue? That only Maguuma players are capable of cheating this way and no other servers’ players can cheat this way?

It is important to be clear so that the dev know which to tackle to provide a solution. To fix the mechanism or to fix Maguuma player?

I venture a guess that such cheating is not a Maguuma only issue. So, putting Maguuma in your title just confused the issue abit.

Clearly every single player from an entire server is doing this and should be blamed accordingly.

if you are talking about spying/sabotaging, how is that cheating? as in, what rule are they breaking?

If another player from opposing team transfer over and is giving info back to their world, that’s fine. It’s a clever use of the game mechanics that adds a little spice to WvW. Transferring over to intentionally waste supplies is an obvious exploit and in no way intended or else their would be a counter for that, but there isn’t. Anyone can walk up to any supply camp, tower, and keeps and waste the other world supplies and you can’t do jack about it.

did you actually see something that would make it clear these were maguuma transfers? looks like this is just a way to tarnish our name as visibly as you can, otherwise you would have posted in our matchup thread.

Really? thats the best defense you guys can come up with? “We’re bad even when we cheat, therefore we clearely must not be cheating.” Good luck man, real players with real skill and class will show this stuff up every time. It’s only a matter of time before this is fixed and these degenrates will actually have to learn how to play the game. What then? Northern Shiverpeaks and Dark Haven have a lot more class than this and i really hope the guilds who care about their community get out of that server before these guys ruin their rep even farther.

I’m on Piken Square, buddy. I mostly roleplay and do SPvP. WvW is hard to enjoy for me because of the low framerates I get in large-scale battles.

I don’t have a dog in this fight but from the sidelines here I’d just like to point out the obvious humor in identifying servers consisting of literally thousands of players as though one were speaking of one entity or individual. This server isn’t “classy”, that server cheats, etc. and so on. I have to believe we’re all well aware that an EXTREMELY small minority is engaging in “dodgy” tactics. I refuse to accept that anyone here can be oblivious to that, it just can’t be. Hence, as others have here commented, calling out an entire server of thousands as “cheaters” or whatever can be done with only one possible purpose, to antagonize.

And from a completely neutral stance here, I’m just not seeing how this could possibly be “fixed”. I mean if you have a couple room mates or brothers or friends on a phone with more than one computer in use, one has only to transfer to and log in to the opposition’s realm and then give a word for word of what’s being said in chat. Heck, for servers with a voice chat server it gets even easier to pull off. Short of thorough background checks I don’t see what can be done.

Oh and I think it’s safe to say you (no matter what server you’re on) are not the only server that’s a victim of this and it certainly isn’t the first game this has taken place in by far. If there is any one undeniable truth here it is that if cheating is possible someone WILL do it.

I can assure you the more devoted WvW guilds do not do this, but then again who knows maybe they do. Either way its unavoidable and it probably happens to Maguuma as well. Please provide a bit of proof next time, seeing random kitten take supply from keeps doesn’t mean they are Maguuma players, they could just be dumb WvW players that could use a little advice.
