I just wanted to say thanks to the mesmer in AXE for saving my life. I was getting zerged down and my air attunement was on cooldown, was going to die without a doubt. But then you showed up and moa’ed me just in time. Thanks.

We got a call out from someone on the map – 2 omegas WALKING to hills north gate unprotected. 5-6 mags showed up with them. They got wiped and abandoned their golems while trying to run away…. and we added the omegas to the scrapyard.

Week or two ago I remember either FA or Kaineng leaving 3 golems outside the gate while they rushed our garrison. Technically I soloed 2 golems and escaped with my life :o

Or the 3 golems 2 players built to DEFEND our garrison a couple days ago -.-
We didn’t defend it very long…

Later the same 2 players put down a treb in the middle of the road right near SM…

Fortunately I don’t see that very often here.

We punted around the Maguuma EB zerg for a couple hours today (after suffering several humiliating defeats to them in DB’s territory). Our victory at anz bolstered our confidence.

Although you guys put up a spectacular defense at Mendon’s.

My path was a lot longer as well since I started getting chased from the back of the keep. Did you really need to send that many to take out one tiny Asura? That’s just mean.

Yeah, which mesmers excel at, even underwater. Just about everyone that has played a mesmer has done the juke and loop with 5+ people underwater. Sorry dude/dudette, you’re not a special snowflake.

We weren’t talking about any other “1vX stories”. We were talking about yours. There are 1vX stories that are funny, entertaining, impressive, and/or insightful. Yours was “I’m a mesmer in the water and I survived for x amount of time against x people. I am so good, they are so bad.” The most stereotypical story you can get.

Had to do a score update since i hardly ever do them, cause Evlana is the scoreupdate pimptress!

I’m flattered to see so many wasted golems on our paper keeps that we don’t even bother to defend…

On the other hand, 1 omega and like… 5 alphas flipped DB’s garrison today. Was fun.
And 6 alphas almost took FA’s east keep, but then the keep lord screwed us with dying outside the circle =_= Oh well.

I was just offering my opinion that the stories in general are too common.
I often skim through those posts without really reading them, as soon as I realize it’s a “There was only one/two of us and they had to send a whole zerg to kill us” post.

And to reinforce that, I don’t generally tell 1vX stories of my own travels anywhere outside of my guild chat.

How many commanders are on FA? In all the screenshots and in-game I never see less than 3. Maguuma has periods of hours where we have 0 or 1.

When everyone has an icon, is it just a status thing at that point? I mean I’ve seen seen d/d eles with icons, which has got to be the most useless class to have an icon on.

A lot. I think PRO alone has something like 7 people with the tag, although not all of them have it on all the time. You generally learn to follow those that suit your playstyle pretty quickly.

Dude, you can’t get a date on FA unless you have a tag.

D/D ele’s are pretty good commanders from what I’ve seen, they are excellent at being the “tip of the spear” in open field pushes, which is pretty important. The worst choice for a commander would be a thief, ranger or engineer – in my opinion of course.
I don’t think anyone on FA keeps track of how many commander compendiums are purchased and activated on our server in total but fear not; we all know the difference between the ones who buy it for status and the ones who WvW and actually have a clue on what to do.

Yeah I suppose even when we have 1 on, we know if they’re worth following. And I can see d/d ele’s leading a charge, but I hope people don’t follow them when they run away to reset their health, as well.

This is actually true. I have 6 or 7 icons in my guild, and only 2 ever use them. Maguuma isn’t very friendly to new commanders.

Yea I try to speak out against the trolls who are critical of players learning the ropes. I think more just need to speak out.

If DB wasn’t playing for 2nd I think they could actually challenge FA. That would make the match interesting.

I don’t know if trolling is why people don’t follow commanders. I think most old Maguuma players are just so used to no icons that we auto pilot on what we should be doing based on that map, so sometimes icons get ignored.
