We’ve bombed Maguuma’s tower at Anzelias to where it has no walls.

Tarnished is running past it, ignoring the fact that it has no walls, to continue attacking us. We’d take it but we can’t get through the Tarnishing/Maguuma alliance.

Oh yeah, no deals going on here.

People are justkitten and charge endlessly where a bunch of other people are dying already. Suggesting conspiracy IS being TOO generous. I mean, I tried for like an hour the other morning to get people to simply attack a supply camp or something when TC was siege-camping our spawn point while they controlled the whole map, but they wanted to naked-zerg ballista over and over again instead, or stand at the edge of invul and watch.

I’m not in right now but I’m guessing that they didn’t take anz cause anz cannot be held.

Earlier today when you guys were fighting in Ogrewatch, we took the keep and every tower so it’s not like we’re doing nothing.

This right here. I must have logged out before Maguuma went up and took it, but for the hour and a half I was on, Anz changed hands between TC and EB multiple times, with trebs from SM or OL blasting the walls continuously. Wouldn’t be too shocked if we (TC) opted against reclaiming it after a while, especially after some Maguuma folks decided to start some trouble in the south.

Well I just came from world v world and from an Ehmry Bay player’s perspective, whether there was ever an alliance or not, Ehmry Bay’s players are so disheartened about the supposed alliance next to no one is even playing in Maguma and Tarnished Coast borderlands. I jumped into Meguma, asked why we had nothing on the map and I got the reply “Everyone quit, Meguma and Tarnished Coast are working together.” No queue in prime time for 2/4 borderlands? Really?

You think it’s bad not having a que in the two enemy borderlands? Try not having a que in ANY maps. Seriously, I was able to get into Eternal instantly, and when I got bored in Eternal I hoped over to Tarnished Coast, again with no que, during prime time.

I was in Eternal shortly earlier, our Maguuma zerg was smashing their face against Ogrewatch. I helped take Pangloss and we did hold it for a bit until Ehmry eventually zerged us.

Afterward we regrouped in Quentin and tried to move the zerg off Ogrewatch and against TC, not a lot of players acknowledged us so we went ahead and took Golanta, then attempted to take Jerrifer before we got zerged by TC and pushed back to Golanta, eventually losing that too.

So yes we tried to attack TC, but the zerg has a mind of it’s own… and I hoped over to to another map because our zerg kept attacking that tower and we didn’t have the manpower to get any kind of assault going on TC.

Are we talking about the same game? I was queued for TC borderlands for an hour and a half, never got in, and just gave up now.

Nice! the worst part is that these clowns actually took this offer! Maguuma is now holding the cigarette for tarnished coast, while lighting it from over their shoulder. you can guess how they got in this position. Looking forward to tapping that Maguuma next time we get matched up.

Which is mildly hilarious considering in TC borderlands Mag/EB were working together the whole night to mess up TCs fun, and in Mag borderlands TC/EB were working together throughout the entire day to mess up Mags fun.

I mean at one point TC had exactly 1 keep throughout their own borderlands tonight, and same thing happened to Mag in the day. Apparently EB isn’t even aware of what’s going on around them, even in the borderlands they’re currently in.

It’s too bad that Ehmry Bay had people bug their Garrison Lord as TC had taken it over after a very good fight.

Hopefully this bug is fixed. With the Garrison able to hit our Keep with trebs without being hit themselves… it would be nice that when we do successfully take their Garrison, that we be ablet to kill the Lord himself.

Those that bugged out the Lord (And it’s something that is done on purpose) ruin it for everyone.

Since we will be most likely taking a 3rd place finish this week due to the efforts of Tarnished and Maguuma, I can look forward to an easier opponent next week. The more 3rd place finishes we receive, the closer we are to a lower spot vs weaker opponents. This “ganging up” of 2 servers against one is ultimately self defeating because eventually these 2 servers will be separated and unable to assist eachother when fighting foes that are even higher than we are. Fighting for a top spot is not always a good thing… especially in WvW >:)

I encourage a couple officers from eBay to come join our guild on TC tomarrow to see 1 that there is no alliance and 2 that what you are assuming are large TC zerg is actually two large well organized guilds with a smattering of pugs most of whom join TS.

Wait, your “proof” is that you flat out bombed a tower to rubble, meaning you have (I’d assume) a ton of treb focus on it. And you’re mad because of instead of taking the bait, trying to hold a position that was untenable in the long term with so much fire focused on it, your enemy saw through you and ignored the death box?

That’s sort of like saying “We were fighting Maguuma and this Tarnished Coast player saw us all and ran away!”; of course that’s going to be the case, because it’d be a fight they’d just get shattered in. The same applies for flipping a tower that’s been shelled to rubble. What’d be the point? Holding one tower for, what, ten minutes as your enemy moves across the bridge, enjoys fire support, and swarms it?

I honestly don’t think it would help. Even if a few people were telling their guild members not to focus on a particular server at a particular time my server believes that they’re being ganged up on and that’s enough to make them give up at the first sign of trouble.

The issue isn’t really that we’re being ganged up on, that’s normal, the issue is we’re outnumbered because so many people on our server just quit. Definitely making me consider moving my guild to a new server… :\

Cool story bro. You guys have had that orb of power for 3 hours now, the keep, who knows how long. A few hours ago both the top towers were controlled by blue and red.

You probably are being spawn camped in Mag BL, as you have absolutely nothing in there. But I said, it was early in the day that you guys controlled half of the map. Not in the evening.

Sure is a lot of made up stuff being thrown around here in the name of victimization.

I play Mag borderlands almost exclusively this round and I cant speak for the other borderlands but TC has no love for Maguuma there =D
Last match up was against Dragonbrand, in which Mag and TC were a bit outmatched.
We would be sitting at lake tower getting trebbed by Maguuma and Dragonbrand at the same time nearly everyday.
We have also found some GOON members on our server sitting at the waypoint in the borderlands. Weren’t sure if they were spying or what so the group I was with stopped using team and map chat as a precaution.
At the start actually it looked like Mag and TC went right for each others throats off the bat giving EB a good lead the first night.

No, we’re being camped in TC borderlands too. Mag invaders have been fighting on the road just south of the tower on and off for hours making it a pain to get anywhere. We have kept the keep most of the day but that’s all we have in that territory.

I’m not saying you’re ganging up on us, all I’m saying is I’ve observed that the people on Ehmry bay map chats have been saying that you’re teaming up on us and because of it we have very few people during prime time. I’m sure that part of the only reason we even have the keep in the TC borderlands is because we had two commanders in that borderlands and only a couple dozen players in Maguma.

It really doesn’t matter if you’re working together, what matters is some people think you are.

What are you even arguing? Even if I’m wrong about being camped trying to go to the red tower that wasn’t even my point. If you read anything but the first line of my post all I was saying people aren’t trying because they think they’re being unfairly attacked. That’s why there is no queue in primetime.

Mag doesn’t have queue times during prime time either. In any of the BLs, including eternal.

Make do with what you got.

Quite funny the general chat everyone mocking Maguuma for taking EB as Cannon Fodder while we conquest everything.

Very foolish.

Last night, we (Bloodgale Vanguard on TC), took Longview tower in Ehmry Bay BL. We held it against zergs from both Ehmry Bay and Maguuma. Multiple times all three servers were fighting there.

Eventually as our trebs weakend the Ehmry Bay Garrison’s walls, TC rushed in, and took down the Maguuma force that was already working on the inner gate. We then finished off the gate, and rushed the keep lord… only to find out he had been bugged.

After 5 or 10 minutes of TC running around kiting the bugged keep lord… Maguuma rushed in. Mayhem followed. Three servers, all killing each other. Last I saw before taking waypoint, was Maguuma kiting the bugged keep lord :P

I am sure rumors of alliances are going to become an accepted portion of WvW drama… but for the people I know on TC (and within the AWC), red = dead, regardless of server. We make the best strategic move to improve our point standings, regardless of what server is against us.

Impromptu alliances are part of a 3 faction system. You’re MEANT to team up and beat down a front runner. That’s the system working as intended.

What’s the alternative? Server 1 surges out to a huge lead, and server 2 and 3 stand by and clap politely? Why anyone is complaining about this is beyond me.

Now that EB isn’t leading, they seem to think that they should never get in a fight with Mag, and if they do, its clearly because they are being picked on…

Forget the part where they are attacking Mag just the same, if they aren’t in first, they don’t think they should be getting attacked AT ALL.

Friday night, first night of the match-up. TC has Dreaming Bay with an Orb parked there. For 3+ hours, we defended that keep with both Magumma and Ehmry Bay hitting it at the same time.

I mean that literally, Ehmry Bay was hitting the north gates (outer, then inner), while Magumma was hitting the southern gates, with TC running back and forth trying to to defend what we could.

Eventually, gates were down on both sides and it became a 3-way Brawl-For-It-All on the Control Pad. The Orb is ninja’d and long gone, but everyone is still fighting. TC is wiped, EB and Maguuma start to duke it out. The Keep Lord is revived, killed again, and still all 3 factions are fighting. Eventually, Maguuma won and everyone moved on.

You want proof that there’s no long-term Alliances? There it is. That was a true No-Holds-Barred 3-way brawl.

NOTE: Just because there’s no alliances doesn’t mean you can’t make a strategic decision to avoid one faction’s forces temporarily. If you’re pushing hard against EB at the Western Keep and come across 5-6 Maguuma while running back from spawn, the strategically sound decision is to avoid them, or let them go as part of the big picture.

Don’t let paranoia make you see alliances everywhere they’re not. Most of the time, it’s just plain sense.

I was there at WvW reset, and i can tell you that we were fighting both EB and TC equally, and then EB got two orbs and an early lead.

Just because we went after the first place team doesnt mean we allied with you. It was just the most prudent decision at the time.

It probably didn’t last much longer than that but if it was pivotal during that time.

Just because a couple of people broach the topic of an alliance doesn’t mean it actually happens. In fact I think most of us on TC wanted to target Maguuma first because we still wanted to stick it to them from the week prior.

“zergs” is relative since both Ebay and Mag both had the outmanned buff :/

In the day it’s a relatively close match-up, but at night TC just has legions more people. I mean your EB zerg force is more people then all of our players on every other server combined.

We’ve been heavily outnumbered in Ebay borders, Maguuma borders, and Eternal every night I’ve played over the weekend/this week.

We’ve had some GREAT fights. Don’t get me wrong, but we just aren’t fielding a large enough organized army compared to the other two. Frankly I think our strike squads out there are really what’s giving us any leverage lol. We have some GREAT groups of 4-5 individuals in a party just irritating the crap out of the other two servers, doing really good hit and run tactics.

Anyways, it’s not like this is going to be the last match up between our servers. I’m sure we’ll see both again during the course of the game. Let’s just be glad rampant hacks aren’t being employed and for the most part, all 3 servers are putting forth a good effort.

In the end, I don’t mind losing, being outnumbered, and being challenged every fight. It means we’ll end up evolving to having more skilled players and developing more interesting tactics in the long run, since we can’t just rely on massive numbers.

PVP should be about having fun and getting better. Cut out all this drama already.

I still love fighting against both of your servers ( TC here ). Even if we were to be on the losing side of this match, I would enjoy the fact that it’s been a lot more even than last week.

Maguuma and TC have some good fights that will continue, I’m sure. I wouldn’t mind adding EB to that list.

EB player here. This is the most pathetic thread i ever read. It is stupid when kids blame their lost on playing time, and try to set their own rules like “you are not allowed to play after midnight”.

EB got pawned before, also we won before, thats WvW for this game! Anyway, i am having twice as much fun; i am getting twice as much karma. Keep crying, losers → to those who came up with this “alliance” thingy.

What’ll be funny is TC will not be laughing if they go up a tier. Most likely TC will be facing Dragonbrand again. We’ll see you guys the week after that. There is really no point bragging about anyone’s prowess in WvW – among our three servers our point totals from the pinned thread put us within spitting distance in terms of ranking. We’re probably all evenly matched it comes down to who logs in most and at the wee hours of NA morning. Anyone who is trying to brag is just fooling themselves. We’re where we are because that’s where the scoring system put us and it’s probably more accurate than people saying, “On our best day…we are really top tier”

I had doubts about ArenaNet’s ELO system but if we get good matchups like this within only the first two weeks the future looks pretty bright. Brofists all around.

I dont know about everyone else but this has been the most fun matchup ive played.

I have seen both EB and Mag take large portions of land from TC, then TC takes some back, then another zerg takes 2 of our keeps in 20mins (couple days ago). But no matter when i look at the rankings, its the most balanced scores ive ever seen in WvW. Noone is holding orbs for ages, they keep swapping hands.

Great fun, so please stop whining everyone

Alliance or not, it’s pretty clear what the sequence of events were for this match-up.

Ebay gets an early lead. Prearranged or not, TC and Mag put the hurt down to claw back into the game. It’s a very smart strategic move.

Over the weekend, TC passes Ebay (and hasn’t given up the lead). Later, Mag and Ebay are close and Mag eventually pulls ahead. TC is opportunistic, taking easy points, beating up on whoever’s in 2nd and violently defending their holdings in their borderlands.

At this point, Mag and Ebay should have allied and put the smack down on TC. Neither server did, so TC gained what looks to be an insurmountable lead. Ebay and Mag continue to take points off each other, rather than work on shortening TC’s gap.

TC’s earned this victory through cunning. It’s been beautiful to watch. Regardless of whether they ‘played’ Mag or Mag and Ebay just aren’t smart enough to take points off the leader doesn’t really matter.

This has been a fun matchup, probably beyond repair for Ebay.

I’ve learned a lot by seeing how TC plays and hope my server takes the lesson to heart.
