New Borderlands are pretty, big, keeps and structures have personality etc, but the “core” of playing WvW has been neglected.

In my opinion the most important things in WvW are:
- Players want fights (bigger/smaller), scout, siege, plan attacks interact with the enemies etc.
- Everyone want to feel needed in the server: commanders, scouts, zerg players, guild groups. Everyone needs to feel important and useful, and being part of the same unit.

The WvW changes haven’t adressed properly the issues, borderlands are too big, and it takes to much time to move across the map, structure upgrades makes scouting less valuable,

Here some examples and solutions:

Upgrades shouldn’t be automatic, someone should be triggering them and having a small credit for being there. This prevents the snowball of big zergs karma training everything and the smaller servers giving up on the enemy.

Dolyaks should be a necessary requirement to upgrade structures and not only shorten the upgrade time, doesn’t make any sense. Again to prevent the snowball of the biggest servers and avoid “random” upgrades (even if you can see the enemy upgrade timer).

Side keeps on the borderlands need the waypoints back for 2 reasons:
- Traveltime to get fights will shorten because groups of players will be able to travel around the map faster and get where they want to get
- Keeps will recover their value as keeps and be important instead of being an objective more.

Maybe it would be important to add, Garri should have a waypoint with the first upgrade and side keeps should get a waypoint with the T2 upgrade. Also keep guards should be like a sentry (not reveal the total number but give a signal across the map)

Southern tower waypoints are not useful. If it gets contested it takes you so much time to move from garrison to there that it will be lost by the time you get there. And that waypoints cant be attended by the home server.

About the T1 upgrades. Cannons should be in T2 upgrade and Walls in T1. Cannons in 30 min its just to strong (look at stonemist).

This are some basic issues that should improve the quality of WvW.

Tl:dr
- Need to trigger upgrades
- WP back to the side keeps in borderlands
- No cannons in T1
- Dollies a must for the keep upgrades, not only to shorten the upgrade time.
- Guards in keeps should “scout” enemies if they attack on gates.

I like some of the ideas with some tweaks:

Players need to trigger upgrades. Trolls frequently start non-defense upgrades to keep structures from upgrading properly. The pay for upgrades system taxes players that are doing a good thing most of the time. Leave the automated upgrades in place IMO.

Keep upgrades use supply or pause until their is more. The problem here is trolls use up the supply and prevent the upgrade. My suggestion is to have dollies deliver “upgrade points” that feed the upgrade machine. No dollies coming into keep no more auto-upgrades.

I am fine with cannons, but I would rather see towers/keeps with a set back for putting ACs that players must build. This prevents staff eles from nuking them and requires enemy forces to build counter siege instead of just rams.

Guards scouts enemy players. This is one of the best “get a fight” mechanics in WvW and should be every place there is a guard.

Bring back the Alpine map.

About the “troll upgrade” yes I see that sometimes…. But 99% of the time there where no problem at all…. And even sometimes we have problem because the people don’t know what they are doing… Maybe a masteries to unlock ability to start upgrade could avoid new player to do that ? When you explain on the map how to do you have less problem with time.
I don’t want to see auto upgrade because 2 or 3 times in the week someone start a bad upgrade…. And just made that wvw ability are required to start upgrade (3 level, camp, tower, keep) this will avoid new player to do bad thing.

Replace EB with the new map and bring back the Alpine Home Borderlands. Would be the easiest fix for using the new map. Would concentrate all 3 servers into one of the too large new maps.

I loved WvW but it was never great, just better than any other RvR based game. The continual lack of balancing and out right dismissal of the entire communities feedback has pretty much made me quit this game and move to Wildstar, atleast the PvE is genuinely challenging and the PvP is actual fun instead of of having to put up with pirate ship meta or cheese condi roaming builds. Gladi didn’t buy hots to be honest coz peopel will be bored of it all very quickly.

The money made from HoTs certainly won’t be put into WvW, as far they are concerned the job is done and i’ll put money on the WvW team being more or less disbanded or just a few left while others are reassigned to make more stuff in PvE that no one asked for.

My suggestion:
- No autoupgrade. Bring back the old upgradetrees and let someone just press a button. Let ppl pay with badges instead of Gold.
Trolls mostly used the sups for useless siege, not upgrades.
- When a doly comes in, half the supplys go into a public stash that can be picked up from players, half go into an internal stash for the upgrades. When enoght sups are gathered the upgrade will be available. So it is trollsafe. If the tower is fully upgraded all sups go into the public stash.
- Add rewardchests like in silverwaste. Ad them to DEFENDINGevents and escorting yaks aswell. Give a higher reward for defending that struktur than for just retaking it. Increase the rewards, when the fight is about upgraded strucktures. Taking out or defending a fully upgraded keep should give better rewards than a paper keep.
- Old waypointsystem. Right now even at t3 the keeps give no tactical advantage.
