nothing is more frustrating than trying to build an ac to defend a wall or gate and have it destroyed by eles or rangers or even engis before it can be built. Why can’t it just be invulnerable for the first minute? This would give us a chance to build it but still give the opponents a chance to destroy it after the first minute.

Why would you even build an arrowcart or other defensive siege, if the enemy siege is invulnerable anyway?

If you place siege properly the only thing that should ever hit is an ele meteor shower or other siege.

With cannons and hammers coming, the last thing we need are more siege buffs.

currently deployed siege is invulnerable for 3 seconds. I can’t build an ac in 3 seconds. I am not saying make the siege invulnerable forever, just a minute. We threw 3 superior acs on inner bay and they were all taken down by eles. Is this really not a problem for anyone else? maybe it is only a problem for tier 4 servers who have fewer people to defend.

The issue here is Meteor showers that completely overlap an entire wall killing siege with just 2 meteor showers.Reduce the dmg done from meteor on siege.

No. And if you want it to be invulnerable, then it also should not be usable for 1 minute after building it. If anything, I’d rather see defensive siege removed from the game to promote fights instead of standing on walls.

Thats pretty much irrelevant when theres a blob knocking on your gate with just 2 defenders in and your own main blob not bothering to defend.

A whole minute is just too OP though because two people with enough supply can build an ac in 3 seconds. It would be absurd to try to balance a game mode meant for more than one player around a solo player.

Also, it really isn’t a problem for others that it needs one whole minute. You can find YouTube videos of how to place defensive siege that doesn’t get taken out by eles.

You are not the only one with this problem, but making them immune for 1min is not a solution.

The burden is on the players to scout and create/maintain siege weapons in objectives before the enemy shows up. That is how it should be.

You are not the only one with this problem, but making them immune for 1min is not a solution.

This is exactly right. Building “in the moment” siege is the wrong way to play. I remember back when you took a keep and you built a bunch of siege inside the keep that you’d continuously send people to refresh while doing other things on the map.

Even after building all of the siege and running your whole zerg out of supply, going around the map to supply up more so you can go back and build more lol…

Several walls don’t have a safe-spot where you can place defesive siege to cover it such as Bay Southern Wall or Garrison North Eastern wall. Anything you place to protect these walls will be with the range of Meteor Shower.

Something hilarious happened while defending bay today. Attacking force brought enough bodies to actually sop up the AC fire and minimize damage to their catapults long enough for the walls to fall. Anet needs to work out new defense/offense mechanics other than either ball up into the biggest possible blob possible or a handful of players spamming as much siege as the game allows.

It’s already been said that this is a bad idea, but can you imagine the attacking zerg throwing 6 rams that are invulnerable for one minute? They would be through the gate before you could do anything at all. Granted, you’re not stopping a group that big with one or two defenders on ac’s anyway, but you get the idea. Burning oil and cannons become useless entirely with invulnerable siege.

Happy for siege to be buffed against AoEs so long as more AoE skills are widened to be able to hit siege. Wells should definitely be in that mix of things that can hit siege. Right now, an entire zerg stands around holding their proverbial while the one staff ele in the squad of 50 waits for their Meteor Shower to come off cooldown.

1 minute of invulnerable siege? Awesome! I’ll use nothing but rams and drop 6 of them on towers and 8 on keeps and get through in less than a minute. Brilliant!

Right now, an entire zerg stands around holding their proverbial while the one staff ele in the squad of 50 waits for their Meteor Shower to come off cooldown.

That’s what the zerg gets for running a squad with heavies only and a bunch of ranger pugs. Honestly, I don’t play staff on my ele but I always carry one in my bag for that.
