Is it possible for someone who monitors WvW to adjust some of next week’s rankings manually? SF, who has a skeleton night crew, will be going against kaineng, likewise, maguuma will be against ET which will be a blow out any way you slice it.
At least that’s what the numbers say. You have not really released the “new math” that you guys were talking about. With the new reset fast approaching, we are worrying about WvW next week and the weeks after.
It seems like this could save us all a lot of headache if the proper T1 servers were adjusted to still be in tier 1 and a lot of the other servers were manually placed into different tiers that suit their populations. Of course, there will be some mistakes, but it can really fix a lot of problems that we would otherwise experience for weeks to come.
You’re asking ANet to make some sort of intelligent manual intervention when they can’t even be bothered to tell us anything? Seems like an unrealistic expectation to me.
Manually adjust?? No way.
Instead have 48 hour matches to rapidly get the rankings back in order.
I was just going to post the same thing. ArenaNet can query their database to see how many people are in WvW every hour per server. Then they graph the coverage and make the match ups. So reset the points, make manual match ups, then let the algorithm work from there.
However, I think Cactus.2710 is right, based on their past performance, I doubt this has even crossed their minds.

48 hours could be misleading especially if we go back to the week by week system afterwards. It is the same concept as reset. People come out of the woodwork. You might do great and get a pretty high ranking after a week or so of 48 hour matches, but then you go back to the week by week match and come Monday you are alone in your bl against a swarm of angry invaders… then you begin your slide down the ranks.

Sad to say I am starting to agree with you.

this^
bump – would like any kind of response…although the reset isn’t happening this could really help us out in t8 where the match has just become stupidly one sided
could also help out a few different servers in t1 t2
I think anet needs to do a soft reset of the ratings (allow servers to keep 70% of their rating, bringing all servers rating closer to gether, this would force SF up a tier)
The reset was canceled.
this was from 3 days ago… before it was axed, but the suggestion of a manual adjustment remains and would be good for the servers at the bottom and top would love an answer why this couldn’t shouldn’t or isn’t done from mike or habib or anyone for that matter… just seems to make sense tbh
