Okay this may sound a bit rantish, but it’s also very legitimate. I’m in Ehmry Bay and have been attempting to progress my PvE characters. I have them all to Lvl 80 with 99.97% map completion. The only thing I need is in the Green Keep in Eternal Battle Ground’s Vista. We’ve had 4 resets since I’ve tried to get this Vista and each of these 4 times we HAVE ALWAYS been RED! Now if you are in game and /wiki wvw you get a great article titled Matching of worlds near the bottom as seen here: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Wvw. I don’t know what the deal is, but each of these resets we have come in dead last and therefore I would assume we would lose points and eventually become green by getting to be the top of the lower ranks. First off I think it is RIDICULOUS that Anet is FORCING people to WvW IF they want their 100% world completion. Second I find it RIDICULOUS that the only way to get the Vista’s, Poi’s and even the SP in SM is to take the Tower/Keep/Castle. We have been put against servers that run literally between 2x-4x the size of us when we are on, are consistently oceanic (meaning we have no night presence and can’t fight back), and consistently getting our faces smashed in. This makes WvW 0.00% fun, annoying as hell to get Map Completion, and just a horrible experience in general. In Gw1 I could do anything and everything I wanted to alone if I wanted to. I could map all 4 campaigns, vanquish each zone, and run around in Urgoz Warren/The Deep/DoA/Slaver’s Exile/UW/FoW just for fun because even in these challenging areas I COULD STILL DO SOMETHING ABOUT MY SITUATION. Through hard work, fine tuning, and skill gained over years of play I was able to get 50/50 on the Gw2 Calculator with little to no help from anyone else (because I was usually helping everyone else). I’m finding this very irritating that I can’t get my 100% Map Completion because: 1) The map refuses to rotate (we are always Red), 2) There are large zergs running around all the time and it only takes 2+ people to kill me, 3) I can’t damage any Tower/Keep/Castle without getting my face handed to me by the time I’ve made || of hp go down, 4) You can’t run a Golem down there alone because someone will eventually notice (and besides – who in their right mind wants to give up their Tower/Keep/Castle for free to 1 guy huh?), 5) There are classes (ex: Warrior) that don’t have stealth and therefore can’t just simply wait for another server to fight over the Tower/Keep/Castle and run in expecting to reach a vista before getting hit once (negating the ability to activate the vista). There are so many ways to fix this too. 1) Don’t make us RED all the time! 2) Don’t allow servers that are on completely different time zones to fight each other. 3) If you allow servers that are on completely different time zones to fight each other have the game dynamically scale the Camps/Towers/Keeps/Castle’s HP, Guard difficulty, Siege damage, and Lord’s HP/Difficulty drastically when ever the “Outnumbered” buff appears (indicating that one server is probably sleeping and the other is just waking up). This leads to at least preventing our entire map from being taken from us while we sleep (because they are on different time zones). 4) Have a toggle making it so when you go into WvW it makes you unable to see any enemies, allows you inside Towers/Keeps/Castles, and treats the map more as a PvE environment. This toggle can only be removed from within the starting location/leaving WvW and coming back in. 5) Don’t make WvW count towards map completion. You have dungeons and PvP locations that all have Poi’s in them that don’t count towards 100% Map Completion – so why on earth force us into WvW just to get it? There are people that don’t want to PvP AT ALL in this game and you’re driving them away from it because the only way to get inside a Tower/Keep/Castle is to PvP or hope to god your server is good enough to take them/server rotates map locations! I don’t want Anet to say “We Fixed It” by making us rotate to a new color and then we have the same problem 2-3 months later when I have a new Lvl 80 that I want to get my 100% map completion on. I’m really looking for some serious overhaul on how the Map Completion works in regards to WvW because this is entirely unfair to those that 1) don’t want to join guilds, 2) don’t want to PvP, and 3) don’t want to play with other people. I personally am in a guild, I don’t mind PvP, and I like playing with people. All I’m saying is that there is a large group of people that you’re alienating by not having a better system in place for map completion. So please assist by replying to this post with either some explanations/expectations/or just a response indicating that you may consider looking into what i’ll call for now some rather serious oversights.
